“These mind games between Angie and Jen are no good for anyone,” says the source.
Yes, they are.

Cheryl Cole’s Secret X Factor Gig: Carole Malone Exposes The Truth
CAROLE Malone does the X Factor’s Cheryl Cole and produces a review about a song that has not yet been sung.
Somerset Bob spotted the oddity. And as MacGuffin says:
“In mid-October it was widely trailed that Cheryl Cole was to perform her new single on The X Factor and that she was not going to be singing live (although only some of it appears to have been mimed in the end). Noticing that the show goes out on a Saturday night, Malone fired off her column for the next day’s News of The World. She asked:
‘Why did she mime her new solo single on last night’s X Factor?’”

If only those Uzi sub-machine guns came with health and safety warnings:

X Factor’s Miss Frank In Shock At Lucie Jones And Joe McElderry Row
ITN has the pleasure of delivering the greatest non-X Factory story of all time. No news is the new news. First, the headline:
Miss Frank explain tambourine bust-up
You can read about the Tambourine of Destiny here. And you can read ITN’s news here:
X Factor’s latest evictees Miss Frank say an alleged row between contestants about a tambourine has been blown out of proportion.
The row is now an “alleged row”. It might not even be a row:
It is claimed Lucie Jones was hit in the face with the instrument by Joe McElderry during rehearsals for their group song. But Miss Frank couldn’t believe the incident had made the newspapers.

X Factor: Joe McElderry Hits Lucie Jones, Lily Allen And John & Edward’s Soiled Suits
X FACTOR round-Up: Joe McElderry hits Lucie Jones, Lily Allen sings, Strictly Come Dancing flails, John & Edward soil their clothes and evil Lisa Hayden-Johnson…
Metro: “X-Factor Lucie Jones left in tears after ‘bust up’”
X-Factor beauty Lucie Jones was left in ‘agony’ after she was struck in the face by a tambourine by show rival Joe McElderry back stage.
Can McElderry copy Danyl Johnson’s Stacey Solomon shtick and help Lucie Jones connect with her tears?
The Welsh beauty cried out in pain after the 18-year-old misfired throwing the instrument in the air, striking the stunner direct in the face…
But injured Lucie was left stunned, wondering whether her nose had been broken after she reportedly crying out: ‘Ouch! What the hell did you do that for? It really hurt.’
It’s the X-Ray Factor. But did she cry? If you’re going be the new Cheryl Cole, you’ve got to cry:
The injury was an extra blow for Jones, 18, who was left in floods of tears on Saturday night’s show after her big band performance failed to win over Simon Cowell.
Hold the tambourine, literally. Lucie Jones is already crying.

Karl Lagerfeld Hates The Curvy Lily Allen
LILY Allen just loves Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel. Lily loves it so much that she tells Grazia magazine:
“If someone had told me I’d be the face of Chanel when I was older, I’d have dropped down stone dead.”
…Like a feather, attached to a fat bird. Because here’s Karl Lagerfeld to tell us, and readers of Focus magazine:
“No one wants to see curvy women. You’ve got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying thin models are ugly. Fashion is about dreams and illusions.”
Fat is about being happy and jolly. Well, it used to be. Now fat is about being depressed and prodded by skinny old men dressed as Williams II’s foot stool.

Lily Allen’s Heart Stopped At Farmer Karl’s Chanel Show
LILY Allen would like Grazia readers to know that “finally I feel beautiful”.
We join Lily as she looks at herself in a compact mirror, applies lipstick to her lips - on her face (this is no daring critique on the fashion industry) - and tells us about the moment she arrives in the Chanel barn with that Farmer Karl and his bevy of clothes horses made from actual people:
“When I came out of the hole in the stage, my heart stopped.”
Thankfully, Lily can do her routine in her coma, and neither Prince nor Rihanna, nor indeed any of the great and good that come to watch the bucolic splendour of a city farm where the cows go Miu Miu, the cats go “Mwwwwa” and the birds go “I’m a mo-del, singer actress bored of boys my own age…”

Lily Allen’s Chanel Barn Dance In Pictures
FRONT-page news in the Independent is Lily Allen’s performance at Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel fashion show in Paris.
Lily has risen from the floor of a stage barn scene to sing a song about her rubbish lover. Perhaps a farm is the perfect place for an Allen encore? And, yes, this is the same Lily Allen that the Mirror reported had retired from music:
Guests filing into the Grand Palais were greeted by hop sacks, garlands of flowers and a giant haystack. A huge Chanel-branded barn sat centre-stage. Cock-a-doodle-doo squawked the soundtrack, and then the bucolic festivities began…

How Lily Allen Blew The Music Industry
MOST overblown tabloid tale of the day is in the Times, where Patrick Foster and Dan Sabbagh lend their names to the Lily Allen-inspired headline:
Blow for music industry as Lily Allen says Peter Mandelson’s plans too draconian
This would be the same gilded Lily Allen who yesterday “passed the baton” and would no longer deliver her confused and hypocritical comments on music piracy?
We’re less certain as we read:
The industry has been stricken by infighting since Lord Mandelson, the Business Secretary, proposed that the connections of those who consistently flouted the law should be suspended temporarily. Supporters of the plans, which at one stage included Allen, became involved in public arguments with the Featured Artists Coalition, which includes the musician Billy Bragg and members of Radiohead and Pink Floyd.

Lily Allen’s Traditional Copyright Infringement
WHEN Lily Allen said piracy was made for music, that in broadcasting music to the masses in a free and easy way new acts will find it harder to reach an audience, we wondered if anyone wanted to hear any more of Lily’s brain working.
Lily Allen knew that we did and set up her own blog on the subject, inviting other musicians to contribute.
Lily’s position is:
Music piracy is having a dangerous effect on British music, but some rich and successful artists such as Nick Mason, of Pink Floyd, and Ed O’Brien, of Radiohead, don’t think so. Last week, they told The Times that file sharing is fine. It probably is for them. They do sell-out arena tours and have the biggest Ferrari collections in the world. For new talent, though, file sharing is a disaster — it makes it harder and harder for new acts to emerge.
Michael Masnick on Techdirt investigated:
When Lily was first trying to get attention, she created a couple of mixtapes with a ton of songs from other artists… available as MP3 downloads, and mixing in her own tracks… According to the tracklisting of the second mixtape, it included 19 tracks by artists other than Lily Allen. Both mixtapes (mixtape 1 and mixtape 2) are available directly off of Lily’s website, LilyAllenMusic.com, which has a copyright notice at the bottom from EMI.

The Jaycee Lee Dugard Story Is Now A TV Film
JAYCEE Dugard Watch: Anorak’s at-a-glance look at Jaycee Dugard in the news - Jaycee Lee TV film; Phillip Garrido’s non-crimes; the Press releases and how the pigs turned the Garrido compound into a pigsty…
Those widely published photos showing the squalid home where kidnapping-rape suspects Phillip Craig Garrido and wife Nancy Garrido lived outside Antioch were a bit misleading.
You mean the pictures of the pigsty sty and the filth?
The photos show rooms strewn with boxes, clothes, garbage and overturned furniture, and a kitchen sink overflowing with pots and pans. But a police investigator involved in the Garrido probe tells us the house on Walnut Avenue, while a bit messy, was hardly the pigsty portrayed in the photos - until the FBI, sheriff deputies and local police went through it.
Cops. Pigsty. Make the link.
“By time we got done, the place was a train wreck,” our source says. “We searched every nook and cranny.”
AUTHORITIES ended a week-long search on the property where Jaycee Dugard was allegedly held captive for 18 years. Police had been looking for evidence linking Phillip and Nancy Garrido, charged with kidnapping Dugard in 1991, to two other local child abductions from the late 1980s, but found no “definitive evidence”.
Can you have evidence that isn’t definite. Isn’t non-definite evidence no evidence at all, more of a clue?
But after an extensive effort in which archaeological experts and employees of multiple law enforcement agencies combed through more than an acre of land in blistering heat — some on their hands and knees — the search revealed no links to the 1988 abduction of Michaela Garecht or the 1989 disappearance of Ilene Misheloff. “While we did not locate any definitive evidence that provides answers, this operation still holds much value and much potential value,” Hayward police Lt. Chris Orrey said. “We will walk away from these properties knowing that we left no stone unturned.”
Now to check the grounds of all other known rapists in the area as thoroughly - or is it easier just to check on the nutters you’ve already caught?
Mystery Behind Phillip Garrido’s “Black Box”
Every crash site has one:
Many former business associates of Phillip Garrido agreed he was strange. In the years leading up to his arrest for kidnapping Jaycee Dugard, Garrido was rarely without his so-called “Black Box.”
Right on time… Right on time…
“He said he had invented this device which would allow a person to speak without physically speaking and be heard by the listener,” said Contra Costa County private investigator, Ralph Hernandez. Garrido called Hernandez to help convince people his invention worked and wanted to get a patent for the device.
Can you patent a black shoe box?
“He said he was starting a new religion, he also said the box would let you hear voices from the other side and predict the future,” said Antioch businessman, Tim Allen. The black box looks like a small suitcase with a handle and a couple of jacks to attach headphones.
In laymen’s terms a ‘Godot Blaster’.
About one week before his arrest, Garrido asked a friend to keep the box for him. “I thought he was a total kook but I didn’t want to tell him that,” said Allen.
No, best until he is arrested for raping a child and then tell the media…
Parole panel in ‘99 praised Garrido’s behavior out of prison
Nearly eight years after Jaycee Lee Dugard was kidnapped, Phillip Garrido received a certificate from the U.S. Parole Commission lauding him for his behavior since his release from prison in 1988.
“You are hereby discharged from parole,” the March 9, 1999, certificate read. “After a thorough review of your case, the Commission has decided that you are deserving of an early discharge,” said the document signed by administrator Raymond E. Essex. “You are commended for having responded positively to supervision and for the personal accomplishment(s) you have made.
“The Commission trusts that you will continue to be a productive citizen and obey the laws of society.”
His obedience has yet to proven in a court of law, but as for being productive, he is keeping the media in work.
Jaycee Dugard – Fact Or Fiction?
“Go with your gut” is advice regularly given to women, whether the topic is health, relationships or security.
Says experts like…
Most recently the advice came from Judge Judy speaking on Larry King Live and by a guest commenting on the abduction of California schoolgirl Jaycee Dugard by Phillip Garrido in 1991.
Mentorn International is taking a documentary about the kidnapping of Jaycee Lee Dugard to Mipcom, billing it as the first in-depth doc about the 29-year-old.
Captive For 18 Years: The Jaycee Lee Story launches the new Cutting Edge series on Channel 4 on October 1 and features an interview with stepfather Carl Probyn - the first full-length interview that he has recorded, according to Mentorn.
The rape of a child , her impregnation and her kids - now that’s entertainment…
Business wire: “Statement of Former U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott, of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, Attorney for Ms. Jaycee Dugard”
At their request, I met with Ms. Jaycee Dugard and her mother, Mrs. Terry Probyn, last week and offered to help Jaycee and her daughters on a pro bono basis as they move forward with their lives. As everyone can imagine, there are a host of legal issues that the family confronts, especially the prosecution of Jaycee’s abductors. In addition, the family faces an onslaught of media attention that the family understands but does not invite.
Terry Probyn asked me to pass on the following message of thanks from her:
“Jaycee, her daughters, and I are grateful for everyone’s generosity, kindness, and good wishes these past few weeks. Thank you. All of us are doing very well under the circumstances. We especially appreciate everyone recognizing that what we need most right now is to be allowed to become a family again within a zone of privacy and security. We hope that our story focuses attention on all of the children still missing, and on their need to be found. We must keep looking for them. As Jaycee shows, miracles can happen.”
The press release concludes:
We greatly hope members of the media respect the privacy of the Probyn and Dugard families during this time. Any inquiries can be made to me or Ms. Erika Price Schulte.

Lily Allen Blasts File Sharing And Radiohead
LILY Allen writes for The Times, delivering “my message for big stars who back piracy - ‘It’s all right for established musicians, but file sharing will strangle new talent’.”
Music piracy is having a dangerous effect on British music, but some rich and successful artists such as Nick Mason, of Pink Floyd, and Ed O’Brien, of Radiohead, don’t think so.
