When Celebrities Research Child Porn: Bernie Ward

bernie-ward When Celebrities Research Child Porn: Bernie WardPETE Townsend, the pop star, paid to view child porn for research purposes.

Actor Chris Langham donwloaded child porn while researching a character he was developing.

And in the US of A: “When radio talk show host Bernie Ward was arrested last year on child pornography charges, his lawyers downplayed the federal rap, saying that his client was merely doing research for a book when he accessed and distributed illicit images.”

Ward is also a former Catholic priest.

And idea for research-minded celebrities would be for them to form a focus group and share their findings, so sparing other celebs from stumbling into the kiddie porn trap…

More - “Bernie Ward shows us how to debate the right!” announced the Daily Kos; James Taranto and My Pet Jawa

  1. 1 coolandcalm Says:

same old excuses…. research? total crap.
No-one needs to research if they have an imagination.
Those who are ‘just looking’ are the people who perpetuate the misery of all the children involved….. IMO they are just as bad as the perpetrators.

    Rant over for today!

  2. 2 Karen Says:

If they want to research they should go to the police and ask for permission or ask them questions.

But why are they so stupid that they don’t know the police can trace them? If I wrote something illegal on here all the police would have to do is ask Anorak for my email address and that’s it - I’m busted.

  3. 3 Mic Says:

“Honest Ossifer… I was only using that bottle of wine for research into the effects of drinking and driving. All in the name of science y’know. Sorry about the dead cyclist by the way…”

I don’t suppose that would wash in court either.

  4. 4 Merle Says:

If this man were such a menace to society, why did they not have him under custody immediately? Why did they not confiscate his computer and ban him from any connection or contact with children, even his OWN children for 3 full years? THREE FULL YEARS!

    any ideas?

  5. 5 coolandcalm Says:

No, but I bet its been tried!!!!

  6. 6 Yakimabelle Says:

Well, he’s been let loose because he is very popular with the political set in SF. Indeed, it seems that political pressure has been brought to bear to keep investigators from examining whether or not he has been involved with sexual acts with his own children - he allegedly claimed to have done so to the online dominatrix who turned him in.

  7. 7 The Original Stan Says:

coolandcalm..agree totally..its just the same old excuses..he is basically just as guilty as the people actually commiting the offence against the children…if nobody was going to watch then the footage would never have been made..its just the sickest thing i can imagine..people involved in anything like that should be put away for the rest of their natural life..too much of a danger to have them walking free in my opinion..

  8. 8 Truckeedude Says:

The whole situation stinks. I’m withholding judgement…What if….he is guilty of stupidity??? That he was not immediately arrested and locked up raises a few questions.
