Jimmy Wales On Rachel Marsden On Wikipedia
AS reported: “JIMMY Wales loves to talk about “transparency” and “a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge.” Unless it’s about his scandal-prone girlfriend. Wales, who is divorcing his second wife Christine, has been secretly seeing conservative TV commentator Rachel Marsden since last fall, friends say. Wales apparently took notice of Marsden when Wikipedia users started an edit war over her page.”
Wales founded Wikipedia.
And: “Wikipedia’s rules prohibit anyone from posting about the affair on Wales’s page.”

Jimmy watches wikipedia so the sort of slander that happens to others on wikipedia, don’t happen to Jimmy. Meanwhile Mr. Wales make public sounds about freedom.

Sounds right.

Meanwhile, conservative people and organizations become targets on Wikipedia. The site is dominated by left-wing partisans, so every politically senstive topic gets a hard left-wing spin. Liberal politicians, pundits and organizations get airbrushing on their articles; conservatives get hatchet jobs.

Rachel Marsden is a complete nutbar. Is anyone here from Vancouver? Have you been keeping up with her bizarre and totally irrational behaviour since her SFU days? She’s one scary, scary woman.
Ok, ok, I get the Wikipedia should not be censoring information, but we really do not want to give this crackpot anymore infamy than she already has.
Truth is, Jimmy is lucky to be out of the relationship fairly unscathed. Rachel is known for her stalking of ex-paramours and manipulating events to suit her. She has tried to ruin the careers of several men that she’s taken a shine to and who have subsequently rebuffed her.
She makes Anne Coulter seem relatively sane and reasonable.
Take a deep breath Jimmy, hopefully you’re not finding dead chickens nailed to your front door.

According to what Jimmy Wales states, he only saw this woman one time. It must have been an online “dating” thing that didn’t work out once they got to know each other.
It wasn’t very gallant (wise) of him to post their “break-up” at wikipedia without warning her; but her selling his clothes on eBay seems so silly. EBay must love the free advertising (and commission they’ll be getting).
Observing his clothes for sale on eBay, I’m wondering who would pay over $2000 for his icky tee shirt? $900+ for his sweater? (albeit he is a good looking guy and sort of “famous” in the limited world of online geniuses).
Wouldn’t it have been nice to have the sale go to a charity? (like stopbullying.org)
These two need to hold their noses and publicly patch things up as friends and move on! Mr. Wales might consider taking the high road… understandably not an easy bone to swallow, but he has the most to lose as he has been quite respected and admired.
