Elizabeth Smart, Chandra Levy, JonBenet Ramsey, Madeleine McCann And Vicky Iseman
IN “McCain Sex Scandal Blonde Missing - Day 12″, the Huffington Post’s Chris Kelly wonders what happened to the “missing blonde woman in John McCain’s lobbying scandal”, Vicky Iseman?
Iseman is not dead. She is not presumed to be dead. There is no police case. Says the trite Kelly: “Until we hear her speak, or hear she’s been identified from dental records, how can we ever have closure?”
(Iseman was the subject of a New York Times story that suggested she and Sen. John McCain had a close relationship that “may have been romantic”.)
And that’s it. Only:
Elizabeth Smart and Chandra Levy, Laci Peterson and JonBenet Ramsey, Madeline McCann and Jessica Lynch, the Runaway Bride and the remains of Anna Nicole Smith. Those stories were made for cable. Sure, it’s fun to watch a casino implode, the first hundred times, but it doesn’t have the same urgent familiarity; the same prurient arc of tension and relief, like a cross between a nipple slip and a mining disaster. There’s something about missing white women that just works for 24-hour news. Like shipwrecks in Shakespeare, or the way you can’t write a truly awful folk song without mentioning smoking.
Says Kelly: “Here at Huffington, the two headlines are OBAMA and SOMEONE’S NOT PAYING ENOUGH ATTENTION TO OBAMA.”
And Ms Iseman. The organ likes Ms Iseman, too. Barack Obama is a black man. You can read about him and listen to him on 24 hour news. Ms Iseman is a white woman. Madeleine McCann is a missing child whose name Kelly misspells.
In the prurient language of the tabloid, amid a vociferous media feeding frenzy, all are made equal. Just forms of entertainment…

2nd! Posted this at the end of the previous thread, so here it is again:
Re Madeleine: DOES THIS WAFFLE RECEIVED FROM THE HOME OFFICE HAVE ANY RELEVANCE TO THE ENQUIRIES MADE?
On 29th January 2008, I wrote to my MP, Michael Foster, edited as follows:
“Why is our Government now failing to cooperate with the Portuguese Police?
Rogatory letters were sent from Portugal in early January…. to date there has not even been an official acknowledgement…..
Would you please investigate:
Why did the McCanns instantly engage top lawyers for themselves, both in Portugal and here, yet continue to employ a detective agency with no experience of finding missing children, and who seem to specialise in making ludicrous sightings at vast expense? In my opinion it smacks of money laundering.
Why are the McCanns not presently and transparently accountable for the huge sums of money raised by the public, supposedly to Find Madeleine?
Why do the McCanns warrant unprecedented support from many influential people, which enables them to suppress investigation into the truth? Just how gullible do all these people imagine the public to be? ”
……….
Michael Foster has now forwarded to me a copy of a letter addressed to him from Admiral The Lord West of Spithead GCB DSC, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Home Office, dated 20th Feb 2008. It reads:
Dear Michael,
Thank you for your letter of 5 February 2008 to the Home Secretary on behalf of Mrs (my name and full address) about Madeleine McCann. I have been asked to respond as Minister with responsibility for extradition.
You will appreciate that we cannot disclose details of any specific cases that may have been referred to the Home Secretary for consideration. To protect the integrity of any on-going criminal investigations, our normal policy is to neither confirm nor deny that a request has been made or received. However, exceptionally I can confirm that the Home Office has only very recently received a formal request for Mutual Legal Assistance concerning the McCann investigation. It is not appropriate to comment further on this particular case.
In general terms, the provision of evidence from one country to another for use in criminal proceedings or investigations is carried out under mutual legal assistance legislation, specifically the Crime (International Co-operation) Act 2003. Competent judicial authorities in one country, who are conducting criminal investigations or proceedings, may make a request for evidence to be obtained by way of a formal letter of request, which is then passed through a Central Authority (the UK Central Authority is located in the Home Office) so that it may be executed by an appropriate law enforcement agency.
Before it is allocated to these agencies, a request is fully considered by officials, on behalf of the Home Secretary, to ensure it complies with relevant legislation and the UK’s international obligations, as there are a number of international conventions and bilateral treaties that need to be taken into consideration.
I would therefore wish to assure your constituent that, far from the Government “blocking” any investigation, requests for mutual legal assistance are a normal method of tackling international crime that are subject to both domestic and international legislation and agreements and as such have to be duly considered by the Secretary of State.
For further information on mutual legal assistance your constituent may wish to see the Home Office website at the following address:

Yours aye
(signed) West of Spithead

I imagine this is probably a fairly standard response sent out to anybody who has written to their MP expressing concern about investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. DOEST IT HELP?

Good LORD!!! Will people get OFF the “missing white woman” syndrome?! If you care so much about the minority cases, then go promote THEM!!! Stop blaming the victims for being white and attractive!!! I realize there are approximately 836,000 people who go missing in the US every year, and a ton more around the world, but if people like yourself stopped berating the media for promoting “white women” cases, and instead brought to their attention the cases that don’t “grab viewer attention”, it would be much more helpful. Thank you.

Sad indeed to note that no pop stars. and others, have offered to start a fund for Shannon.
No funds apparently have been put into looking for the little girl from the McCann fund.
No little old lady has come foward and said “where can I donate some money”. Get it.
March 4th, 2008 at 7:05 am
Thank you, May.
“I can confirm that the Home Office has only very recently received a formal request for Mutual Legal Assistance concerning the McCann investigation. ”
Among the waffle, a little nugget of information, duly noted.

“I don’t really like England, because of all the shite in the papers” - Prince Harry.
Indeed, Harry. But I doubt you were referring to the shite about the McCanns. You have shite of your own to handle.
More MSM shite, from the BBC: last PM they reported on the Glaswegian male nurse, and ran a clip from his interrogation tape(!), complete with scooty accent. Police described him as ‘arrogant’ and ‘confrontational’ and a ‘thwarted serial killer’. He should have been a consultant cardiologist.
Then the Beeb dragged poor old Shippers into it, and commented on his few hundred victims. Which only goes to show, the higher you go up the NHS ladder, the more you can get away with.
The Beeb didn’t ask what a male nurse was doing looking after elderly female patients, in the first place. Oh dear me no.
Next up, the NHS are going to keep charging for the parking, as they rake in £100 million a year from it. To stop charging would go against their ‘global warming’ policies, they say.
Hahahaha! That crock of old shite! The global warming cult is dying so fast, it’s beginning to smell. Just another tax-gathering scam. Watch next week’s budget if you don’t believe me.
“We are NHS. Every year, we spend £120 billion your money, mostly on ourselves. All your money are belong to us.”

Which thread are we ‘posed to be using ?
Some on yesterday’s thread….some here.
Is this a case of “divide and rule” ?
Hmmmmm…..OK…that is a bit extreme. IMO.
By the way Snort….Female Nurses tend to male patients in the NHS…..etc.

Actually Leona Lewis has made an appeal and apparently a donation, and pensioner donated £500.00. Its a far cry from the mccanns, but maybe its our fault, instead of banging our keyboards we should be contacting the news stations asking them for coverage and boosting the subject matter. Actually, I think I will write to a couple of newspapers and online news agencies right now. Lets all do it.
Why one child should get so much attention, and another receive f**k all is totally out of order.

so when do they go to prison?
March 4th, 2008 at 8:23 am
Why do they keep reporting that Mr Barack Obama is a black man,
As I understand it one of his parents is black, the other white.
Why does that not make him white ?
March 4th, 2008 at 8:26 am

USA Politics tends to be a bit black and white.
Few grey areas.

I thoroughly agree especially about the global warming policy being a tax collecting scam. Why can’t the public see it??
March 4th, 2008 at 8:39 am
21 Matt
Absolutely agree.
But I almost thought this sort of racism had been laid to rest
Half caste, quadroon, octaroon and so on. The slightest “Taint” of black blood being enough to bar a person from society.
Now it seems people look for that part of their genetic background and call themselves black, even if they clearly are not.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:46 am
So….a policy of millions of acres of Deforestation is introduced in Brazil,
(and other Countries), in order to plant millions of acres of Soy to produce
Biofuel in order to cut down on Global Warming agents.
Hmmmm…someone needs to wake up and do a few recalculations.
IMO

It seems as though Karen Matthews knows who has taken her daughter. Maybe this is why the police are keeping the case low profile. I think the Press has probably been instructed to keep the news down. I saw Karen on the news holding a teddy - the McCanns certainly have a lot to answer for.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:52 am

To be fair to Mr Obama….he seems to be making sure he keeps well away
from the “Race Card”….but unfortunately Mrs Clinton and Mr McCain
seem to be wishing to raise the thorny matter at times.
Politics can indeed be a dirty business.

26…Logic
I thought she indicated that she was suspicious rather than certain..and
has lost trust in associates.
A sad state to be in but a natural one considering the circumstances.
Certainly the Police are nosing around areas closer to home…rather than
widening the search presently.

53 (yesterday) Matt.
“”Hiding in sight””
“A common feature in Sociopaths. Part of the arrogance inherent
in the condition”.
On a continuum with a Midnight Express beating heart at one end and the sociopath at the other, How cool are the McCanns, if guilty of media covering up a criminal act? Perhaps it is this level of cool that makes the case so interesting, (leaving aside impact of any criminal acts on Madeleine of course)
Have to go out but am interested in your view on yesterday’s thread, so I will check later.
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 am
This cannot be a Madeleine thread, she is only fourth on the leader, does Anorak know something we don’t, are we being weaned off gently.
