I'm coming back to the 'Old Country' to visit my remaining relatives in a couple of weeks, by plane of course! Hitching a ride on a transatlantic container ship really isn't an option for me. "Oh Arr Mateys.... etc".
I wont be camping either... I never realized that I'm such a horrible, planet destroying, eco-terrorist, I just wanted to see my ancient auntys.
Well never mind, it looks like there will be some helpfull people on hand to explain to me the error of my ways.
It's not as if anyone but the masochistic actually enjoy flying anymore............

My wife's cousin works for EasyJet and he's a bell end.

I'm not sure what that adds to the debate, but I feel like I've shared something with you all. Thanks for reading.

Bloody well said Dogstar.

I think that people just think that it must be true because the Government say so.

It is an old yet valid argument, if the UK stopped producing carbon completely it will make no difference to the world whatsoever, so why don't we just enjoy what we have got instead of making our lives difficult. I think we are so insignificant but the likes of Gordon Brown and Bliar obviously want to believe that we are the epicentre of the whole world and what we do affects such.

We are effectively told that we are irreversibly killing our planet in our 4x4's etc which must be stopped, however if you are willing to pay a bit extra then that is fine.

Will murder be acceptable if we are willing to pay an extra 'murder' tax?

Accept climate change as something out of the UK's control and adjust accordingly.

Global Warming. What a wheeze! It's great, isn't it? Another of those Great Lies of our time. What disappoints me most about it, is the way that the youngest and most impressionable are always mugged by the whole pack of lies, and enlisted into the swelling ranks of the bullying, indoctrinated campaigners.

'Climate Change' (in the Bono sense) has very little to do with the Earth's natural climate variances and everything to do with world politics, world economies and world agendas.

Most people are just too plain dumb to see it. They imagine because they've been told to recycle the family rubbish they are doing something meaningful and worthwhile to save the planet. They imagine if the politicians tell them they'll have to pay more for petrol, oil, gas to fund new 'natural' energies then it's just a fact of life. They imagine if local councils sneak in council tax rises and punitive charges for 'excessive' household rubbish than that's okay 'because it's saving the planet'. Hah.

In China, no such concerns. In India, ditto. Just two of the world's largest populations and most emergent economies (got a few western politicians nervous) - and neither could give a rat's ass about your weekly trips to the recycling bin. They laugh at you. Quite rightly.

Here in the UK and in much of the West, politicians beat their citizens about the head with the whole Climate Change thing, it's a gift - something that can't be defined, or even proved (yes, really - it's not been proved Climate Change is due to anything other than the Earth's natural processes, as witnessed for a FACT in countless ice cores dating back hundreds of thousands of years). It's perfect. Governments can fund bogus, greedy scientists to produce wilfully vague, but 'on-side' 'research' and politicians can wave it in our faces as it it were fact.

People really should start thinking for themselves.
