Obama Wants Debate With Jihadists Who Blow Up Children
HOW do you debate this, Barack Obama?
A young girl carrying explosives that killed her, an Iraqi captain and injured four soldiers was blown up by remote control, officials said today.
The incident happened as she approached an Iraqi command post in Youssifiyah, south Baghdad, earlier this morning.
Iraqi army Lieutenant Ahmed Ali confirmed that the girl, who had hidden explosives strapped to her, was the cause of the blast …
“The bomber was detonated by remote control, killing Captain Wassem al-Maamouri and injuring four soldiers,” Ali added.
Says George Bush, widely regarded as an idiot:
“Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the President said to the country’s legislative body, “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”
Says Barack Obama, the leader of the cult:
It is time to turn the page on eight years of policies that have strengthened Iran and failed to secure America or our ally Israel. Instead of tough talk and no action, we need to do what Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan did and use all elements of American power — including tough, principled, and direct diplomacy - to pressure countries like Iran and Syria.

Yes, the war and the Nazis.
General Motors lobbied the US Gvt because they own Opel, which made the German Prime Mover (main truck in this case), the Opel Blitz. They did not want their own factories bombed with US equipment that they paid for with taxes.
US Gvt asked if the were insured .
US Gvt also pointed out that they made the UK prime mover, with Vauxhall, so they were on the winning team, whatever happened.
Plus, and this was the clincher - fat contracts to rebuild whoever won the war.
Job was a good one. However it still took 2 years (from 1939 when WWII began), being bombed at Pearl Harbour and of course the Nazis declaring war on them 2 days after that.
So really we saved them, with our backs to the wall for 2 years, standing up to be counted for something that we only finished paying off our cousins for a couple of years ago.

I loved McCain’s reverse causation for the sectarian violence as being Saddam’s Legacy as well yesterday (following on from Bushes comments, even though the Pres is not supposed to score domestic points with For. policy), no, Mac, that’s YOUR legacy of “Freedom and Democracy”.

the US loaned britain money at 2% interest - hardly tough terms - and if it wasn’t very much or on very good terms, why didn’t they just pay it off immediately rather than wait 50 friggin years. Plus the US gave Britain billions (hundreds of millions, in quaint talk) in Marshall Plan grants (gifts). Billions when Billions meant something.
It is sad that someone can’t recognise a friend.

It is well-established that suicide bombers and the system that supports the practice evolves out of the fact of military occupation. It is a horrific practice. It was horrific when it first started, back in Lebanon, when the Israelis dragged the U.S. and the French in.
If you want it to stop, you have to leave.
Or, you have to negotiate a way out of keeping some kind of “asset” or “interest” going, but…you still have to leave.
The Middle East is not Europe. It is not Nazi Germany. It is not “the West.” It is a very different place, with a wholly different culture and history, and the people there violently resist occupation–whether the U.S, the Soviets, or any other European entity. Israel is proof of how this works, or rather, does not work.
