The Baseball Cap Bandits: Profiting From The Proceeds Of Crime Act

baseball caps The Baseball Cap Bandits: Profiting From The Proceeds Of Crime ActMUSA Mohammed, 20, of Southfields, London, has pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court to four counts of possession with intent to supply Class A substances (heroin and cocaine) and one count under POCA legislation.

That’s his mugshot on the left. It’s one for the album. You will observe the lack of head paraphernalia.

Under the terms of the Proceeds of Crime Act, Mohammed’s “collection” of thirty baseball caps and trainers were nick-nicked.

Also seized were two 42 inch plasma screen televisions, games consoles, two pedal bikes worth approximately £2,500 and two illegal pitbull terriers (now destroyed).

But what of those old hats and shoes? Says Detective Inspector Matt Phelps, of Wandsworth Police: “This money made from auctioning these items will go back to Wandsworth Borough and fund further activity to clamp down on criminals.”

How much is one of these hats worth, or the shoes? And if they are removed from their owner, what will Mr Mohammed wear when he returns from four years in choky?

Answers on a innersole to the usual address…
