Cheryl you are correct in the belief I, and every single member of the admin. side of the Anorak team, and, I hope, the vast majority of posters, agree to the formula where the Moderators are Guardians of the site. That will not change.
What is happening here appears to be a dispute which has arisen because of a wrong accusation that Carmen called you a troll. You were mistaken in that assumption and I have informed you of my efforts to establish the truth of that statement.
Carmen IS a Moderator but free to post in her own right and at no time during this protracted dispute has she hinted at using her authority or sought to gain advantage from her valuable role in the background of this site.
I do protect the position of Moderator and I also would back the Moderators in the vast majority of their decisions. The nature of all management would be that if I disagreed with a decision there would be a discussion involving several others and a joint solution agreed. That process has nothing to do with the users and posters because I think you may have missed the vital point….the Moderators are here as Guardians of the site and to make in a safe, lively and constructive place for all.
I weary a little of both Carmen and Cheryl’s raking over of old coals and I do have one piece of advice. Cheryl I value the contribution and viewpoints you make to this Forum, and I have always believed you are large enough in spirit to accept a truth. In this case the truth is Carmen did not call you a troll and a limited apology is due on that matter alone.
I clearly value Carmen’s contribution to this site , she is a Moderator and, like us all, is unpaid and works long, long, hours on YOUR behalf. You will have seen today an example of the sort of nonsense the Moderators/admin/editor have to put up with in order to give you this excellent area for debate.
I would not dare to suggest you two kiss and make up but I think it would be fair to say the dispute is becoming a gram too heavy.
Cheryl show the courage and magnanimity I think you have and apologise for the accidental error. Then let’s get on with the debate proper. -agw

The downside of an anonymous forum is that many see conspirators on every corner (or page!). Everyone could be lying about who they are and why they are here, I could name at least two with ulterior motives who are very economical with the truth, but if that’s what floats their boat……..
None of us know if we’re right in our thinking so we bicker back and forth, but the word ‘liar’ being constantly lobbed around aggressively makes me realise why we live in such a violent society.

Don’t you also kind of appreciate the policy of the mods to delete embarrassing “pro”-postings far quicker than similer “anti”-postings? This way the “pro”-faction appears far more sensible, since the average quality of their postings keeps being increased.
Or what would you think about a poster who was banned and permanently begs to return, only to start going over old ground again, sharing more or less your own opinion, but boring?

Good morning, back from another few days in Portugal, locals are fed up with the whole thing and doubt there will be any resolve to the case. The fact that the lead investigator was involved in the Casa Pia case does not fill many with hope, as that also had an unsatisfactory inquiry and conclusion.

What I have seen from you is someone who is prepared to post unsubstantiated copy and subsequently be grossly offensive to a Moderator.
Not a good starting point with me and a route which may end in tears, woe and grief….but not for the Moderator.
This may be a good time to remind all the Moderators remain the Guardians of conduct on this site. If you don’t like that leave.
If you persist your departure can and will be assisted.
What is also clear Lawener, is you are no stranger either here or in other sites.
You seem to persist in wishing to post here. Fine you may do so but any further challenge to any Moderator will be your last.
The question has to be: What is there about the above advice which not understandable or cloudy?
