Celebrity Police Nick Amy Winehouse

amy-winehouse-arrest-questioned.jpgANOTHER day and with it another chance for Britain’s celebrity police force to have their picture taken alongside a face, on this occasion it’s Amy Winehouse’s.

Right now some lucky copper is nailing his photo the canteen wall alongside shots of coppers with Michel Barrymore, Kate Moss, Peter Doherty and many, many more.

Indeed, rumours are that Doherty Duty is now part of the police training scheme, with all new recruits invited to identify the pop f***wit and then nick him.

Today, though, the Mail is reporting that Amy Winehouse has been arrested for possession of Class A drugzzz.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard projects his voice to say the singer was taken into custody “in connection with an investigation connected to footage passed to the Metropolitan Police on January 22”.

That was, of course, the video published by the Sun, showing Winehouse, as that paper reports, “smoking crack and snorting cocaine and powdered ecstasy”.

The video is still on the Sun’s website, where it serves as a training tape for budding celebs to find out more about drugs and their taking.

With any luck it will spawn a new generation of celebrities, and a new generation of police keen to be seen with them…

    The Real Stig Says:

Can someone please explain something to me.

Since when has a photo or video footage of someone purportedly doing something, ever been solely sufficient evidence to arrest them?

Can you send the photos and large numbers of pixels to a forensics lab and get back a report, saying yes, that substance pictured is definitely a class A substance of type B?

Next time a major film is released showing a superstar actor or actress partaking of a drug, will the British police then arrest said person whence next
    they arrive at Heathrow?
