Russell Brand And Jonathan Ross Write As Paul Revoir
HAVING lamented Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand’s priapic assault on Andrew Sachs, the Mail spots another comic actor of yesterday on his way to the shops.
Paul Revoir writes under the headline: “Old Man About The House: Frail 70s heart-throb Richard O’Sullivan looks unrecognisable”:
Only he isn’t. Revoir recognises him in an instant:
With his flowing hair and understated grin, he won a legion of female fans. But the years have made their mark on Richard O’Sullivan. The 64-year-old actor, who also starred in Robin’s Nest and Me And My Girl, looked frail as he took a walk near the retirement home where he lives. It is “a home for retired performers”.
The retirement village is just like Chinawhite with more drugs:
Wearing a jogging top, black trousers, and two pairs of glasses, he used a walking stick as he went to buy a newspaper near his West London home.
Soon everyone will be doing it.
In 1994, O’Sullivan admitted being a ‘hard-drinking depressive’. There have been rumours of ill health in recent years and it is understood he had suffered a stroke in 2003.
Hats off the Mail for attempting to trump Ross and Brand, and achieving partial success.
Was Sachs disabled. No. Has Sachs suffered a suspected stroke? No. Is there a swing in the retirement village’s garden on which is sat O’Sullivan’s slutty granddaughter.
Dunno. Let’s go see…

I get the impression from the quotation from the article that this is not a criticism of Richard O’Sullivan, but an expression of sympathy for his circumstances, whilst Anorak is inferring that the Andrew Sachs fiasco was less worthy of sympathy, something I wholeheartedly agree with.

That particular story incensed me. Is he not allowed any privacy or dignity? Why is everything so dependent on appearance? there were even some pics of others who looked ‘old’, including Brigitte Bardot. Duh…….
Only Cheryl Cole nowadays wins press approval.
