Salma Hayek Breastfeeds The World

SALMA HAYEK loves breastfeeding – just loves it. So fond of breastfeeding is Salma that on a trip to Sierra Leone she suckled the hungry child of a woman who couldn’t express milk.

That the child was 15 years of age is not the point. The point is that Hayek gives and gives. Forget those self-serving televised celebrity missions to save black babies, this is Hayek giving herself to the cause.

And her bosom has plenty to give.

Hayek has enough succour for 23 under 8s an hour, and can give warmth and shelter to tens and ten of grown men and the odd curious woman.

Hayek is reliveing the moment of her UNICEF mission of the telly.

Host Kathie Lee Gifford asks:

“You found a child that was starving to death, the mother had no milk - and you nursed that baby?”

Hayek:

“It’s about women sticking together and we really need to help the children in any way we can.”

She explains:

“It is the best thing you can do for your child, not only the bonding, that’s how you build the immune system, so in a country like Africa imagine how important it is for the mothers to do that.

“But there is the belief that if you are breastfeeding you cannot have a sexual life, so the husbands of these women are really encouraging them to stop and this is just a taboo.”

Perhaps if Salma pops over to show the men how they can have it all things will improve.
