Susan Boyle Is Britain’s Got Talent
SUSAN Boyle appears on Britain’s Got Talent. Is she any good? Not bad. Let’s consider the facts as reported by an eager media, which might not be as talented:
Daily Mail: “Middle-aged ‘hairy angel’ wipes the smile off Britain’s Got Talent judges’ faces”
Unemployed and single, the 48-year-old has thick unkempt hair, bushy eyebrows and downy fuzz is noticeable across parts of her face…
Miss Holden appeared close to tears as she sang…
Music mogul Cowell, however, struggled to admit he had been wrong, insisting that he knew she would give an ‘extraordinary performance’.
Daily Mirror: “Voice of an angel”
(..sadly coupled with hair of a shaggy dog )
She has a soaring, beautiful voice that could grace a heavenly choir - but self-taught singer Susan Boyle has the hair-do from hell.
And the scruffy 47-year-old stunned judges on Britain’s Got Talent when she opened her mouth and produced “the biggest surprise ever” on the show.
She’s “Jobless Susan, from West Lothian”.
Grinning Simon Cowell, 49, then claimed: “I knew when you came out it was going to be something extraordinary. You are a little tiger.”
Grinning with the smile wiped from his face. Speechless and talking.
The Times: “Singing talent of Susan Boyle stuns Simon Cowell into silence”
Two years ago it was Paul Potts, the snaggle-toothed Welsh mobile phone salesman, who was propelled to international stardom by Britain’s Got Talent, the ITV entertainment show…
That’s the insults done. Now the facts:
Viewers of the first episode of the show’s new series, tomorrow at 7.45pm, will see Susan Boyle impress the usually caustic Simon Cowell, one of the programme’s three judges, into silence.
Simon Cowell pronounced her voice “extraordinary” and Amanda Holden was reduced to tears by hearing her sing
That’s silent Simon and almost crying Holden, right?
And the unemployed Susan Boyle?
Miss Boyle, who does charity work for her local church in Bathgate, West Lothian,
The Sun: Paula Potts
More from speechless Simon Cowell:
He jokes:“I knew the moment that you stepped in front of us that we were going to hear something remarkable, and I was right.”
Jokes? But his smile has been wiped from his face?
Remarkable. Extraordinary…

What a star!
April 19th, 2009 at 12:41 am
People can say anything they want,….but a STAR IS BORN,…a woman with an incredible voice out of Blackburn West Lothian, she sure shut those hypocritical anoying little people up,…for once and for all.And to these so-called “experts” which
tried to discredit this unbelievable powerful talent in the newspapers,..let them take a look a their own pathetic egocentric ambitious little lives.
To you Susan the best of luck let them say what they want, one thing is certain,..they can’t take one thing away from you thats,…..your the STAR,….A SCOTTISH BORN STAR,…with a glorious carier ahead of you,….and thats something nobody in this universe can ignore or takeaway.

A friend sent me the vlink, when I saw her I thought
either she is so horrible, that tv people wante to amuse the audience (they do that too)
or on the contrary she’ll be a good surprise
but the surprise was more than good ! the song is a very difficult one to sing and this 47 years old woman has the fresh an young voice of a young diva
I got gooseflesh, I cried, I watched it so many times and sent the link to all my friends, I’ll buy all cds from her …
Of course when she makes money , she’ll dress differently , she’ll go to the hair dresser, do a nice make up. I hope they will just improve the great raw diamand she is without spoiling her fresh and almost innocent look. She bears gentleness and joy on her face
I hope she’ll take more singing lessons (maria Callas, Pavarotti, Domingo etc… took lessons during almost all their carriers) so that she doesn’t force her voice and even improve it more for her and our hapiness
As I said she is a raw diamand and she must become a shiny Koh hi Nor
good luck to Susan Boyle and it was really a pprivilege to watch her first steps to the hall of fame

Watched Susan on You Tube. You don’t see talent like that very often. Someone said that Susan touched a nation. That’s wrong. She touched the world!

It’s ok for you to support this Susan Boyle because it turns out she can sing. The audience, the panel and Ant and Dec took the mickey out of poor Andy Demetrious and his hand dance and he was not allowed to finish it. Because in Britain you have no culture of hand dancing to fall back on. Hand dancing is the dance of Andy’s forefathers. Hand dancing was developed in the desert where movement of the feet would stir up huge clouds of dust so the men of the desert learned to express themselves just using their hands. He was not given a chance. How would you like it if some Blackburn Clog dancers were sneered at and laughed at if they appeared in Libya’s got talent? Show some respect for other people’s culture.

You made me laugh. Your singing made me cry. There is something wonderful that God has in store for you. Much love and Abundant success (from the US) in all your singing! I am looking to hear more from you; you’re just getting warmed up! Watching Simon soaking it all in with a grin and a sigh said it all — he was enjoying your performance. I wanted to hear the whole song by you. You go girl!!

Wow!! I heard of your story tonight on ET Canada ( Entertainment Tonight…) and had to YouTube your performance…and I am still getting chills, the more I read about you and your story, the more I am cheering for you to win!!
Your voice is incredible, this is a very hard song to sing and you did it with so much depth and insight is was moving..I had tears in my eyes and chills up and down my spine.
I have been fortunate enough to hear Elaine Paige sing this role and I can say…you would have no trouble at all, holding the stage with her - and I think she would be honoured to have you there!
You have fans here in Canada as well…and I can’t wait to be able to buy your CD, when it is released and maybe one day, be able to hear you live

NBC TV just carried the news over here on Susan Boyle. Showed the film of her appearing first on stage and then her singing - rave reviews over here. Yes, they also took note and talked about the not so nice reception she got with people rather smirking before she started singing.
April 15th, 2009 at 12:20 am
OMG!……an ugly, hairy woman who can sing! She has the voice of an angel, which raised the hairs on the back of my neck. Only trouble is that it seems to have had the same effect on Susan…….well, raised the hair everywhere on her, but you know what I mean.
Never again will hairy overweight women be mocked in the street, just in case it turns out that they can sing well.

Susan, you Go Girl! You have the world singing praises to you! Your light shines bright enough to reach the heavens! Your Mother is surely watching proudly! Ftom your #1 fan in the U.S.A.!

Dear Susan,
No one has killed your dream…we are all behind your dream and we will all vote for you!!!
Please, God, let this woman have the life she deserves to live!
Yes, they will give you a make-over, but it should not hide the real you. Please don’t let them “sex” you up, or force you to sing things that do not suit you! Stay true to yourself and the music.
YOU SHINE!
Love and Blessings,
Suzanne

Susan
I can’t stop watching the clip! I sent it to everybody I know. Don’t let them “do you over.” Next to the overwhelmingly beautiful voice, you are genuine all the way through; with an appearance and grace like our sisters and aunts might have. Stay in control of everything about you. You made it BECAUSE of who, and what, you are, not IN SPITE of.
April 14th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
She is wonderful—–the video of her singing is sweeping the United States like tsunami—-MORE! Your American fans want MORE!
April 14th, 2009 at 1:41 pm
She is old.
She is fat.
She does not look like anything much.
Then … she sang …
And Holly Molly … she has the most stuning, angelic, fantastic voice anoone could ever think.
And then, everyone was brought to their knees.
Congratulations Susan. You showed the world that talent has NOTHING, but nothing to do with looks.
Cheers. R.

This is a story of human tragedy, rejection, unbearable emotional pain, and then rising to say here I am and I have been here all alone. How do you like me now!!!
April 14th, 2009 at 9:10 am
Wow! I’m from the Netherlands and I listen to her singing over and over again!
I listened to Elaine Page the same song and I must say I like Susan’s voice more! Hope to buy a CD from Susan soon!!!

You have a beautiful voice and i would like to congratulate you for having the courage to take part in BGT. Also a big thank you for letting the whole world hear your singing. Wishing you all the best from Malaysia.

I certainly will follow this Angelic Voice of Ms. Boyle, Susan. Please keep singing… in fact, you were not trying to sing like a professionals, but you are singing professionally! The way you controlled your voice, the way you controlling your breath and you concoured the tone of the whole song… so astonishing! Keep it up, Susan.
