Tom Cruise Proves Study Technology: Video
TOM Cruise. If Tom Crusie were British, and living in the UK, would he expect to get away with this tribute to “study technology?”
Yes. He would have been Tony’s Blair’s Study Technology Tsar. His tapes would be on Gordon Brown’s expense account.
Maggie Thatcher would have taken him outside and have had him shot.
We go off on a tangent. No matter, because Cruise is talking to Scientology peoples, and it’s all tangents.
Take it - and maybe him - away:

Hopefully it is only Scientologists who are listening to him. They try to get this pushed into the actual public schools through government at times as well. The people need to be vigilant or this “study tech” scam will come to their towns and to their childen behind their backs. The only thing they will end up studing is indoctrination material that is designed to pull them into the cult.

@Kevin Owen
No school should base its methodologies on one single ‘tech’ or teaching style, whether or not L Ron Hubbard came down to Teegeeack to bless it. Why not? Because kids are individuals, and no single teaching style is going to work for everybody.
For what it’s worth, I’ve looked at Study Tech in some detail and frankly wouldn’t ever want to use the methods described therein in teaching, although I’m sure it works for a few people - as they say, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

“it sure worked for him”
well its a shame tom cant work out the difference between determination and determinism. you would think someone using this amazing study technique wouldnt get his words mis-understood.

You don’t have to do the study tech to find how flawed L. Ron Hubbard’s thinking is. You just have to read some of the books that are available to anyone. I read Self Analysis, and within the first few pages Hubbard was making claims that auditors can raise the dead. A little later he claimed that sinusitus and poor eye sight are psychosomatic diseases that Scientology can heal.

This study tech is just basic common sense. My teacher at school always told me to use a dictionary if i didn’t understand a word, how basic is that and yet it’s portrayed as something extraordinary. Like all of Hubbarbs work 90% is *allegedly* plagarised from other sources and like all Scientology course something which is basic is sold as a godsend with a price to match.

The Lie of Study technology is the way it inhibits critical thinking and discourages students from questioning source material.
Others have explained it better than me:

The short version is, students on Study Tech believe that ANY confusion of misunderstanding stems for “unknown words”. Feel confused by something you just read? Then read it again. And again. And again, until you find that one word you didn’t understand. Still don’t understand? The cycle continues, with an auditor, over and over again until you do.
Looking up unknown words is a great way to learn, but it is NOT the only cause of confusion. Forcing students through this process inhibits learning, and also teachers the student to repress the desire to question. Who wants to get ‘word cleared’ dozens of times because you find something in Hubbard’s books that doesn’t seem right? Just accept what you read, over and over, until you start believing it. And thus the brainwashing commences.

I haven’t examined Study technology. I can’t even be bothered to watch the video but I think he’s a twunt too. I expect that that tells you a huge amount about my mentality and nature.
Wibble!

It sure worked for him. It worked for me as well. Those that criticize it [Study Technology] without examining it, usually have a vested interest in doing so. Its not because they have looked at it or used it. Someone that would do that, usually tells you something about their mentality and nature.
