Britain’s Got Talent Winner’s Mum “Dumped Fan Mail”

YOU know those letter to George Sampson, the Britain’s Got Talent winner of 2008, the Hairy Dancer, the Dancing Angel, Ge-Sa, Da Sampo, the Singing In God’s Rain Tears (get on with it!)?

Well, that letter telling of your undying love for Sampson and how when you’re released you’re gonna love him something proper might have ended up in bag that George’s dumped outside her house.

Now Lesley Sampson has field to turn up at Warrington Magistrates’ to answer the allegation that she did fly tip 15 sacks of her son’s fan mail, under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act.

Says a court spokesman said:

“We sent a summons letter to both of her listed addresses, one in London and one in Warrington. She did not turn up for the hearing so the police have been informed.”

If it’s just letters, Mrs Sampson may have fallen foul of the recycling police. But given the nature of fan mail, one cannot rule out the sacks containing all manner of cuddly toys, human excretions and, very possibly, the DNA of some of the country’s leading No.1 fans.

As such, Old Mr Anorak believes the police should be thanking Mrs Sampson – who remains innocent until proven otherwise – and the detritus of fans should be swabbed and logged.

He only asks if the police find among the trash a small blue embroidered pair of regulation “Cabin Boy” garters as sown on HMS Victory, they be returned to the usual address…
