XXLiverpool: Incredible Giant Street Art Tribute To The Beatles (Photos)

FANS of the Beatles should appreciate the work of 3D street painter Juandres Vera, from Mexico. He’s created XXL Liverpool, the world’s first dual anamorphic 3D work of pavement art featuring The Beatles in Liverpool.
The 24m long by 6m wide work was commissioned to celebrate the dual 50th anniversary of The Beatles first gig at The Cavern Club and meeting their manager Brian Epstein.

The seemingly thousands of Scouse cab driver related to Ringo Starr will should mark it on their tourist routes …

New Order To Reform Without Peter Hook

MADCHESTER, la la la. That’s the cry of a man who really ought to have a little trip to Dignitas for failing to move on with his life. His pink pallor, glowing in the summer sun poking from his knock-off parka, scuffed shell-toe Adidas worn well from waddling around Britain like a No Frills Ian Brown.

However, all is not lost for this sorry specimen because New Order are getting back together. Sadly, the man who houses him on a weekend at the derided ‘Factory 251’ club in Manchester – Peter Hook – hasn’t been invited.

Of course, New Order split for a second time in 2007 a couple of LPs, but now they’re going to play some Hookless shows as benefit for film producer Michael Shamberg, who has been rotten sick since 2005.

Freddie Mercury At 65: Video And Photos

FREDDIE Mercury would have been 65 years old today had he not died in 1991. Such fantasy landmarks are media staples – a chance to dust off a few facts and playa few songs. Tabloids have yet to imagine what the great entertainer would have done in the years since his death – such as converting to Islam (Daily Star), being cured of homosexuality (Daily Mail), taught Euan Blair to play the banjo (Daily Mirror) and sex texted Ryan Giggs (sources).

Amy Winehouse And Tony Bennett’s Duet Appears Online – Have A Listen

HAHAHA! Wasn’t it funny when a young woman died after battling with the pain that once made great tunes ended up eating her whole! Really funny! She wasn’t even in her thirties! WHAT A RIOT! AMY WINEHOUSE WAS MENTALLY ILL! HA HA HA!

Of course, it really isn’t funny when a young talented woman dies, but if it wasn’t for our collective gallows humour, we’d probably spend all day crying.

We may still have our chance to weep like emo-babies because it’s pretty obvious that Amy Winehouse’s record label will be eyeing up a load of half-assed demos and looking at making a pretty penny on them. That said, not all posthumous releases are going to be lame as a short clip of the leaked Amy Winehouse duet with Tony Bennett has appeared online.

V Festival 2011 On Photos: Jessie J Is Her Own Worst Critic

TO the V Festival 2011 in Chelmsford, Essex. We took loadsa photos. The stand out shots are of woman sat on the shoulders of men. They women always do the same movement with their hands (side to side in the manner of a vera Lynn sing-along). They also annoy everyone around them, and Jesse J pulling a face like someone listening to what she hopes is her second hit. Ian Watkins, of Lost Prophets, looks like he’s heard it, too…

AC/DC Introduce Range Of Highway To Hangover Wines

FIRST Cliff Richard and now AC/DC. One day all hard rockers and harder livers will have their own range of wines.

One day , when drugs are legalised, Keith Richards can bring his range of pre-rolled spliffs to the marketplace. and Pete Doherty can reawaken and rebrand the Humphrey straw.

For now, though, we look at AC/DC The Wine. You can choose from Highway to Hell cabernet sauvignon, Back in Black Shiraz, Hells Bells sauvignon blanc, and You Shook Me All Night Long moscato (“perfect for lady rock fans”). This is refreshingly unpretentious booze. The novelty wines are “styled for maximum enjoyment, whilst working your way through your catalogue of AC/DC albums”.

PJ Harvey Doesn’t Like New Bands And Thinks New Music Is Dull (Which Is Rich)

FOX-HUNTING supporter and Mercury-nominated (we’re legally obliged to write that in sadly) PJ Harvey has branded modern music ‘dull’ and ‘unoriginal’ despite making tedious LPs that lean far too heavily on whatever the alt.zeitgeist of the day is in the first place.

Speaking to the NME, Polly Harvey said:

“Not for a lack of knowing it exists, but because I find nothing that interests me.”

White Rapper Kreayshawn Aims To Be The Marketable Amy Winehouse

CAN the self-aggrandizing artist known as Kreayshawn – aka Natassia Gail Zolot – become a brand on the strength of one song?

The Oakland-based white (tick) female (tick) rapper (tick) has signed a $1 million recording contract on the strength of one self-released single.

She’s 5-foot, 1-inch. She has brightly coloured tattoos. She wears pumps on her feet. She is petite. She gives good copy. Indeed, dear readers, you are watching the birth of Amy Winehouse 2 – the one you can hang in the showroom and flog to death. Wino never did get her own range of knickers and perfumes.

Kreayshawn is is wearing her sunglasses indoors when Women’s Wear Daily meets her.

A film school dropout who has lived in Oakland, Calif., for half her life, Kreayshawn launched her rap career in earnest on a Monday in May with a music video on YouTube. The song “Gucci Gucci” — an infectious swipe at unoriginal girls in fancy clothes: “Gucci Gucci, Louis Louis, Fendi Fendi, Prada” — caught fire. Filmed on and around Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, the amateur though impressively polished video presents a fantasy of the artsy West Coast twentysomething life. Boys on skateboards pass blunts around; tattooed girls in improbably glam thrift-store outfits wave their cell phones and boxes of cigarettes around on the street. It was a hit.

Ker-ching!

Creepy Taylor Momsen Gets Women To Strip Off While She Gyrates On Stage (Video And Photos)

THERE are people in this world who just can’t get enough attention. They crave it so much that they’re prepared to fling away their dignity just so we take some notice of them. However, in the case of Taylor Momsen – star of Gossip Girl and now treading the sticky floors of various gig pits with The Pretty Reckless – she’s prepared to lose everyone else’s dignity too.

Momsen – who we must remember is a mere SEVENTEEN years old – is rather fond of getting her boobs out in an attempt to shock all concerned. At one show, she got her rack out while her mum was stood in the front row. Was mother dearest egging her on? Seeing as Momsen was a child-star (she was in The Grinch and was very nearly chosen for the lead role in Hannah Montana), there’s a strong chance she’s the kind of pushy mother who will do anything to have fame, vicariously.

Cher Lloyd’s Swagger Jagger Is Dire: But Is It Terrible Enough To Be A Hit?

CHER Lloyd is that boil washed Cheryl Cole tribute act who arrived on the X Factor with her unsympathetic backstory and Romanian playground styling. Cher survived the freak zone, the crying zone and the hate zone. She is now in the beyond parody zone, the star of a video and a song that, as one commentator puts it, explains why kids should stay in school. It also explains what Cheryl Cole’s legacy to the entertainment business is.

You can call her a crappy singer of crappy songs dressed in crappy clothes in a crappy video. But let no man say Cher Lloyd is not true to her word. As she said:

“You haven’t seen the last of me, definitely not. I’m going to use this as my platform and I’m going to make sure I’m the biggest goddamn thing to ever come out of The X Factor.”

Beyonce Knowles’ Freddie And The Dreamers Dance At Glastonbury: Photos

WASN’T Beyonce Knowles just terrify. as she sang and danced at Glastonbury, one of Somerset’s sledding music festivals? She was. Anorak loved the bit where she showed us her Fame Wall – you know, those photos of restaurant owners and staff stood by famous people, like snooker legend John Parrot, Jimmy Savile, and in Beyonce’s case, her husband, Jay Z, and Barack Obama. The other highlight was Beyonce doing The Freddie, the move made famous by Freddie & The Dreamers. It’s always good when a top act does a dance any drunken fool can do at the wedding of work’s Christmas do. Thanks Beyonce. For caring. you knocked us bandy – literally…

Glastonbury 2011: Christopher Shale’s Death Is More Entertaining Than The Wombles

GLASTONBURY 2011 – Day 3:  Christopher Shale’s death is entertaining the voracious media. The Oxfordshire Tory’s demise – his body was found in a toilet – is the biggest show in town. And it might just save Glastonbury from the shame of featuring The Wombles. Not The Wombles – the anarchists. The actual Wombles, the OCD freaks of Wimbledon Common. Cynics might get the feeling Glasto needed a spot of controversy deeper than Mike Batt’s Wombsemble…

Glastonbury 2011 Photos: The U2 Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Pole Dancers And Welly Henge

GLASTONBURY Day 2: The rain continued to fall, giving everyone watching the show back home some sense of joy and relief that the BBC had dispatched 274 members of staff to cover the event in the kind of forensic detail Sherlock Holmes would applaud. In our great Photos of Day 2, you will sew Bono, Mr G9, singing songs in front of big neon messages of mottos you can fit on a T-shirt and the names of places they like, or remembers in his prayers.

In the crowd, a few members of pro-tax protest group Art Uncut inflated a 20ft balloon emblazoned with the words “U Pay Your Tax 2”. The balloon was removed by security. Taxes have no place at a big corporate music venue. It’s the last taboo. If Europe needs a Tea Party movement to hook up with Sarah Palin’s supporters in the US, U2 are shoo ins for the official protest song.

Glastonbury Day 2 2011: Shady Wayne Rooney And Neon Coleen Blend In (Photos)

Chrissy Iley Tallk Bravely To Andrea Corr: Wallow In This

ANDREA Corr, formerly tabloid favourite Andrea Phwoar of The Corrs, is talking to Chrissy Iley in the Telegraph. Iley is not afraid to be brave in the face of fame:

Now 36, she’s as gorgeous as ever, svelte and smiling in a Vera Wang top with flawless skin and sparkling eyes.

And then it got braver:

She is coming up to her second wedding anniversary to Brett Desmond, a hedge-fund manager and son of the Irish billionaire Dermot Desmond, whom she married (in front of celebrity guests including Bono) at a golf club in County Clare.
