U2 Save Ireland From The IMF

IF only all Irish taxpayers could be like Bono? When he and the rest of U2 moved their publishing arm to the Netherlands in 2006 after the Government capped tax-free earnings for artists at €250,000, there was much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. But then we realised that the Irish Government had no fecking clue how to spend taxpayers’ money and would most likely have spent the U2 harvest on art, Bernie Madoff T-shirts and cake.

Michael Jackson’s Dead Perfume On Sale Soon:

MICHAEL Jackson Inc. has launched a new perfume. To connect with Jacko, his legion of fans can open the twin vials of Ebony & Ivory and dowse themselves in a rich emollient of embalming fluids with top notes of creosote over a deep base of Ronseal. Also hints of wine gum, burnt hair, Pepsi and for that added authenticity a dash of ground monkey foot. But we are wrong. The actual scent is made from the flowers that grew in his Neverland Ranch in sun-dabbled Beverley Hills.

Now the cool kids who want to remember their idol can small of Knobcone Pine, Brittlebush, Hairy Purple Bells, Blue Dicks-Ookow, Morning Glory and maybe other native Californian species.

CANADA likes to be noticed. And news reaches us that the latest plot to remind the world that the land above the US of A is not just an oxygen storage depot of California, is that the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council has decreed that Dire Straits’ 1980s protest song of working stiffs Money for Nothing must not be played on Canadian radio.

Billy Bragg Is the Big House Boy From Burton Bradstock

BILLY Bragg, the “big-nosed boy from Barking”, is the voice of socialism in Burton Bradstock, west Dorset. Bragg’s home is a grand £1.5 million house by the sea. Singing about working on the line with the common man pays better than actually working on the line.

But all is now happy. Bragg is the target of a hate mail campaign. Person or persons want him out of the village. Bragg blames the Tories, for the “powerless ranting of a bitter individual who is angry that, even in a sleepy village like ours, people reject the politics of racism”.

But all we see is a bloody big house.

Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John: Photos Of Elton John’s Son

ELTON John, 62, is now father to Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John. The birth mum is a surrogate. (Whose egg? Liz Hurley? Liz Taylor? Liz Windsor?) The other dad is Elton’s husband David Furnish, 48. Anorak likes the name, although the double-barreled surname evokes images of a smark downstairs privy.

Sir Paul McCartney Plays Liverpool As Heather Mills Recalls Her Life As Penny Lane: Photos

HEATHER Mills’ words were still ringing in our ears as Sir Paul McCartney played a concert at the Carling 02 Academy in his home city of Liverpool. The latest rumour on the internet is that at a meet-the-teachers night for Mills and Sir Paul’s daughter Beatrice, the child was praised for her skill with the saxophone. Mills, aka Penny Lane, is alleged to have replied:

“Yes. She gets that from me.”

This is augmented by another quote form the women known locally as Lovely Rita:

I ask if Beatrice is musical. “Well, yeah, because all her family are – I play saxophone and oboe, my brother plays bass trombone and has a rock band, my sister plays the flute, my mother played piano and my dad played six instruments, so…”

MATT Cardle, the X Factor winner, was signing pages of his book Matt Cardle: My Story at Waterstones in London. From being a ordinary bloke who could sing – he was a painter and decorator from Essex, no less – Matt is now a shiny popstar with a book and a message. His watery version of Biffy Clyro’s Many Of Horror’ is at top of the charts. His hair is no longer beneath a cap. And so begins the end of the chap you liked and followed on the telly.

P Diddy Combs Suffers As Woman Catches Fire In His Bath Full Of Tap Water

FIRST Usher is kicked in the head by a fan. Now The New York Fire Department is at the venue for Sean “Diddy” Combs new album launch. There is a fire. Diddy Man is OK but the woman sat in his bath tub has a shorter, curlier wig than usual as what passes for her hair catches fire.

The whole thing looks like a put up job. If anything was burning it that room, the crew would be hanging over the source and taking it in deep.

Kesha Does A Sex Cymbal: Her UK Debut In Photos

DID you, perchance, see the Kesha show at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire? This was her debut concert in the UK. The show lasted 56 minutes. Dave Gilmour’s prog-rock Charlie Gillmour’s Austerity Past, Present and Pluperfect has a longer intro. Still, does Charlie’s song feature a woman who looks a bit like John Travolta in Ian Botham’s old hair, with blue lips, and  a 1980s hairdresser’s wardrobe performing a sex act with a cymbal? Back to the drawing board, Dave…

Susan Boyle Survives The Mania To Live A Life Outside The Book

SUSAN Boyle remains impervious to the Americanisation process. Her chest, teeth and skin tones are her own. She is just a human being, of course. But when she burst onto the scene, Boyle was a symbol of God’s love. Boyle was signing copies of her book The Woman I Was Born To Be in Glasgow’s St Enoch’s Centre today.

But back then, Boyle was the antidote to the vanity of our age. She as an angel, whose looks were a totem to feminists who desperate for an argument saw in a face a sign that women could now be “ugly” and accepted.
