Brackets alone aren’t enough to indicate editorial input. You might want to add an “–ed.” in there too.

If you have to affix “in my opinion” to an accusation of mass murder, maybe your case isn’t as solid as you’d like to think.

The current President is a fascist MONSTER and mass murderer and liar [in my opinion], but John Edwards has hetero sex, fathers a baby that he is taking care of [in my opinion] and it is SHOCKING!!! Some long overdue self examination of the American media is essential. Millions of people have been slaughtered [in my opinion] and the media is awol.
