SO. How did the UKIP-supporting English Defence League react to the apparently religion-motivated barbaric murder of a British soldier in Woolwich, south London?

Well, Tommy Robinson and EDL supporters gathered outside The Queens Arms pub in Woolwich.

Channel 4 reports:

Running battles erupted in the streets with youths and EDL activists in balaclavas throwing rocks at riot police. Some wore paramilitary dress. (see photo above).

Sky News correspondent Alistair Bunkall:

“As soon as the EDL got into the town centre … it became not only a lot harder for the police to try and contain anything, but also the aggression (increased) quite considerably. A few missiles have been thrown, glass bottles and the like. The police are trying to surround them and they’ve been charging them as well with batons.”

Around 40 members of the far-right organisation the English Defence League have run towards police in Woolwich following today’s attack in the area.

Earlier, two men were arrested following separate attacks on mosques in the hours following the suspected terrorist incident in southeast London.

A 43-year-old man is in custody on suspicion of attempted arson after reportedly walking into a mosque with a knife in Braintree, Essex.

So. How do you fight insane, religious barbarism? By picking on ordinary Muslims and the police. No. Division will never work…

THE murder in Woolwich has all the hallmarks of a religiously motivated attack. One of the two murderers said to camera:

We swear by the Almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone. The only reason we have killed this man this is because Muslims are dying daily. This British soldier is an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth … 

An eyewitness says the killers screamed “god is Great” in Arabic before murdering:

“I saw a guy with no head lying on the ground. He had been decapitated. There were two black guys walking around his body saying ‘This is what God would’ve wanted’. 

They told Ingrid Loyau-Kennett:

EVER horror needs a hero. The media demands it. We need it. Having seen what terrorism looks like, Ingrid Loyau-Kennett, 48, a Cub Scout leader and mother-of-two from Cornwall talked to one of the murderous psychos who had just hacked a man to death with a meat cleaver.

On twitter, Mrs Loyau-Kennet’s son Basil, tweeted a tribute to his “motherfucking badass John McClane mother”.

She tells the Daily Telegraph:

“And then when I went up there was this black guy with a revolver and a kitchen knife, he had what looked like butcher’s tools and he had a little axe, to cut the bones, and two large knives and he said ‘move off the body,” she said. “So I thought ‘OK, I don’t know what is going on here’ and he was covered with blood. I thought I had better start talking to him before he starts attacking somebody else. I thought these people usually have a message so I said ‘what do you want?’”

The lunatic told her:

“I killed him because he killed Muslims.”

The dead man was an off-duty cadet.

The killers words are typical of Islamic terrorists and the deranged. As she adds:

“He was in full control of his decisions and ready to everything he wanted to do.”

One of the men told her:

“We want to start a war in London tonight.”

Still she kept talking to them. And then the police arrived and shot them. The police did not shoot to kill. For that, they must be praised. The loons are alive.

NOT since the horrors of 7/7 had terrorists claimed a life in the UK. Today two men used meat cleavers to murder and, apparently, tried to decapitate a white British a soldier from Woolwich Barracks on the streets of London. He was wearing a Help for Heroes T-shirt. Police shot them.

The men, both black, shouted Allahu Akbar before attacking. They filmed the murder. One of the murderers tells the camera:

“I apologise that women had to witness this today, but in our land, women have to see the same. (…) We swear by almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you”.

Is race relevant? Is it right we include the news that the victim was white and the killers black?

Local rapper, Boya Dee tweeted the news:

“The first guy goes for the female fed [police officer] with the machete and she not even ramping she took man out like robocop never seen nutn like it”

“Then the next breda try buss off the rusty 45 [gun] and it just backfires and blows mans finger clean off… Feds didnt pet to just take him out!!”

“Mate ive seen alot of s*** im my time but that has to rank sumwhere in the top 3. I couldnt believe my eyes. That was some movie s***.

An eyewitness told LBC radio:

“We saw two knives, meat cleavers. They were hacking at this poor guy, literally… They were trying to remove his organs or something….

“They were waiting for something and it turns out that they were waiting for police to arrive.”…

‘They were hacking at this poor guy, literally. They were chopping him, cutting him. These two guys were crazed. They were just animals.  They dragged him from the pavement, dumped his body in the middle of the road and left (it) there.”

Luke Huseyin told the Telegraph:

“I was at home and heard a big bang. I looked out of the window and saw a car had crashed. It was a blue Vauxhall. Then two black guys got out of the car dragging a white guy across the road towards the wall.

“One of the guys had a knife that looked about a foot long and a machete and the other bloke had a gun. They started slashing him up with the knife and hitting him in the stomach with the machete. I don’t think it took long before he was dead.

“There were people passing by who were screaming and running away. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m still really shaken up. When he was dead, they dragged him out into the road and left him there.’

“It was strange, they didn’t run off, they just stood there as if they were waiting for the police. It must’ve taken about 20 minutes for the police to arrive, I think it must’ve been because they were waiting for armed police.

“The police officers got out of the car and the two blakc men ran towards them with the gun. The police shot them.

“They fell to the ground. Then a helicopter landed. Think it must’ve been an air ambulance. The paramedics got out and I think they were working on the two men to try and keep them alive. I don’t know if they died, they were taken away in the helicopter. A blanket was put over the white guy lying in the road. I just can’t believe what I saw.”

What role Islam?

British Muslims denounced the murder:

The Metropolitan Police state:

“At approx 1420 we were called to reports of an assault in John Wilson Street, Woolwich where one man was being assaulted by two other men. ‘A number of weapons were reportedly being used in the attack, and this included reports of a firearm. ‘Officers including local Greenwich officers arrived at the scene and shortly after firearms officers arrived on the scene. ‘On their arrival at the scene they found a man, who was later pronounced dead. At this early stage I am unable to provide any further information about the man who has died. ‘Two men, who we believe from early reports to have been carrying weapons, were shot by police. They were taken to separate London hospitals, they are receiving treatment for their injuries. ‘I can understand that this incident will cause community concerns, and I would like to reiterate that we are investigating what has taken place today. ‘The MPS will investigate the circumstances that led to a man to lose his life and the IPCC, as is routine, will investigate the circumstances in which police discharged their weapons.”

ENGLAND’S new strip – the first from Nike – ends half a century of involvement with Umbro, the Manchester-based sports manufacturer whose name is synonymous with the Three Lions.

As with all new kits, there has been controversy. The Germans have supposedly complained that England are attempting to copy their success by copying the design of their shirts. However, Gary Lineker’s riposte – “If you can’t beat ‘em…” – ignores the fact that the retro kit most closely resembles the Germans of the sixties, when we were still in the habit of beating the old enemy.

Of course, the England and Germany teams have long shared a basic colour scheme, although the Germans were sporting enough to change theirs for England’s visit to Berlin in 1938, and England responded by giving their hosts a local-style greeting…

That was in the pre-Umbro days, which began in the mid-fifties when the company signed a deal with the Football Association to produce England strips. Before that, they had long been supplying top professional clubs for decades, and creating innovative fabrics, such as that used in 1934’s ‘Tangeru’ shirts.

And they were ahead of the game in terms of merchandising too, having produced the first ‘replica kits in 1959.

Ironically, Umbro’s first England shirt (1954) was called the ‘continental’, although its plain v-neck was a continuation of the traditional pre-war English style.

In 1961 Bukta won the contract, and produced a long-sleeved crew-neck design for the FA Centenary match in 1963.

By 1965 Umbro had the gig again, and continued the Bukta look for the ‘iconic’ World cup strips of ‘66.

In 1970 the reigning world champions wore lightweight ‘Aztec’ shirts specially designed for the heat of the Mexico World Cup.

The simple design was worn for the last time in 1974, away to Yugoslavia.

Whereupon Admiral won the rights to manufacture and market the national strip. In 1974 they launched their gaudy monstrosity, replete with horrible red and blue facings. For the first time, the shorts carried the manufacturer’s logo – and it was nearly as big as the chest badge.

By the time of the 1980 European finals they had finessed this look, with a slightly more stylish version, as modeled here by Trevor Francis and Bulldog Bobby.

In 1984 Umbro were back, with an understated pinstripe, and, following Admiral’s lead, their own diamond-shaped logo.

1987 took the commercialisation a step further, as the logo was weaved into the fabric. It also introduced a new artificial fabric, Tactel.

Diamonds all over the 1990 outfit, including a couple of red and white ones gratuitously slapped on the shorts.

1992: Big badge, horrible collar.

1996: Grey strip for a very grey day.

1997: Changing priorities: Umbro in large letters; England much smaller.

1999 back to the future with a ‘classic’ round collar.

2001 An unpleasant red stripe, and for the first time, the opponent’s name embroidered in the shirt.

2003: Cross of St George on the shoulder and one of the worst sshirt for nearly thirty years.

2007: Diamonds again, and a Trilogy fabric that created its own ‘micro-climate’ to ensure players remained at optimal temperature at all times.

2009: This polo shirt looked more suited to watching the game in the pub, but was developed with the involvement of the players, apparently.

2012: No blue at all in Umbro’s final effort. An unmemorable strip for an unmemorable tournament, as Umbro, like England, went out not with a bang but with a whimper.

HE may not have spilled any blood in his lifetime, but famous pacifist Mahatma Gandhi had his blood on sale this week at a rather peculiar auction.

With his blood, you could create a charming, pacifist army, but alas, no-one wanted to buy his body fluid for the £10,000 reserve price.

Gandhi’s blood had been available after being placed on two glass microscope slides, like Dexter collects.

When describing the item, British auction house Mullock’s spokesman Richard Westwood-Brookes said:

‘To Gandhi devotees, it has the same status as a sacred relic to a Christian.

“It is an artefact which is revered by disciples of Gandhi, particularly in India and therefore that is the sort of person who would go for it.”

However, nobody reveres him that much.

That said, over 50 items from Gandhi did sell at the auction, including a pair of his famous sandals, which went for £19,000, almost double their asking price.

Seems his athlete’s foot is more impressive than his innards.

Todashev had been arrested for alleged aggravated battery after a  fight in a car park.

ABC News quotes a source who, apparently, saw what happened:

“There was some sort of aggressive movement that led the FBI agent to believe he was under threat and he opened fire.”

WESH-TV says a Khusn Taramiv and Todashev were questioned about the Boston attack. Says Taramiv:

“Back when (Todashev) used to live in Boston, they used to hang out — not hang out — he knew him. They met a few times because (Todashev) was a MMA fighter and (Tsarnaev) was a boxer. They just knew each other. That’s it.”

The pair spoke a week or so before the attack in which three people were murdered. Taramiv adds:

“They [Police] told me they’re going to bring him back. They never brought him back. He felt inside he was going to get shot.”

“Then when they realised I was very good at my job, possibly better than them, they hated me even more.”

These statements may underline why people haven’t taken to her, right? And when you learn that her parents are currently paying her £2,000-per-month rent and bills as well as for her new designer clothes and handbags, it becomes impossible to muster up any sympathy.

“I know people will judge me for choosing not to work but they are underestimating just what a curse good looks can be in the workplace,” Fernee added.

If you’d like to see her talking about this with a completely straight face, point your eyes and ire toward this video.

MANCHESTER CITY are soon to be just one outlet of brand City, with a new City branch sceduled to open in New York City. Odd, indeed, that a team owned by Arab Emirates United, formerly United Arab Emirates, should not have bought the other Manchester club, namely Manchester United.

Man City’s owners appear to be thinking big in their push for global ubiquity, but surely any number of cities – Mexico City, Sun City, Blue Ball City (Pennsylvannia), Dead Horse City (Alaska), the Forbidden City – are paled by the world’s Uniteds – United Kingdom, United States, United Nations. Surely City’s owners have laid themselves wide open to a Chinese or Russian gazillionaire, or indeed a sand-dusted cousin, taking charge of Manchester United and embarking on a programme of expansion not witnessed since Christian missionaries hit Africa.

As for the details, City have invested in a $100 million deal with the New York Yankees baseball team to create a Major League Soccer team. City’s New York City FC will showcase their sky blue kits in season 2015-16. Satisfyingly for cynics, the City brand has called the move “transformational”.

The Times says that the New York Yankees, which have a 25% stake in the project, could end up playing baseball in another Etihad Stadium.

Plans to relocate City fans to New York to add authenticity to the project are yet to be confirmed.

HOLLAND’S primetime TV isn’t like modern British TV. It’s more like British TV of the seventies, especially the stars involved in Operation Yewtree.

Of course, no-one in the Netherlands is assaulting children and women, but one host seems to have issues with personal boundaries.

Comedian Paul de Leeuw decided it’d be fun if he drank breast milk, directly from the boob of a woman in the audience of his show, last Saturday.

The host was interviewing women from a charity that facilitates milk exchanges between mothers on his Langs de Leeuw entertainment show.

“How does it taste, nice and sweet?” said de Leeuw said to the the woman, known as Wendy, before asking if he could taste some.

“Well, if you don’t bite you may try it,” she replied.

Declining a bottle of her milk placed on the side, de Leeuw leaned in and started having a go on the teat, which made everyone apart from the two involved squirm like they could hear their parents shag.

Then he went straight for the other nipple, to cheers from the audience, before adding: “I find the second one better tasting, but I can taste that you’ve eaten asparagus yesterday.”

Participant Wendy said on Twitter that no-one should mind because “it was for a good cause”.

DOES accusing Israel of apartheid reduce the history of South African blacks and demonise Israel? Yes, says The Rev. Dr. Kenneth Meshoe, a member of the South African Parliament and president of the African Christian Democratic Party. He explains his view on posters put up on San Francisco buses calling Israel an apartheid state. The ads have been paid for by American Muslims for Palestine.

On my recent trip to San Francisco, I was deeply disturbed to learn about the posters in The City accusing Israel of apartheid. As a black South African who lived under apartheid, this system was implemented in South Africa to subjugate people of color and deny them a variety of their rights. In my view, Israel cannot be compared to apartheid in South Africa. Those who make the accusation expose their ignorance of what apartheid really is.

Apartheid was a legal system of segregation and oppression based on skin color, with a very small white minority dominating over the vast majority of people of color.

As a black South African under apartheid, I, among other things, could not vote, nor could I freely travel the landscape of South Africa. No person of color could hold high government office. The races were strictly segregated at sports arenas, public restrooms, schools and on public transportation. People of color had inferior hospitals, medical care and education. If a white doctor was willing to take a black patient, he had to examine him or her in a back room or some other hidden place.

In my numerous visits to Israel, I did not see any of the above. My understanding of the Israeli legal system is that equal rights are enshrined in law. Black, brown and white Jews and the Arab minority mingle freely in all public places, universities, restaurants, voting stations and public transportation. All people have the right to vote. The Arab minority has political parties, serves in the Israeli parliament (Knesset) and holds positions in government ministries, the police force and the security services. In hospitals, Palestinian patients lie in beds next to Israeli Jews, and doctors and nurses are as likely to be Israeli Arabs as Jews. I also understand that an Israeli Arab judge presided over the trial of former Israeli President Moshe Katsav, who was convicted of misconduct. An Ethiopian Jew recently won the title of Miss Israel. None of the above was legally permissible in apartheid South Africa!

The PLO’s chief negotiator, Saeb Erekat, disagrees:

“Today in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem … I can sum up the situation with one word – apartheid. Worse than that which existed in South Africa. Today Israel justifies its apartheid by the term security.”

They also disagree:

Teachers’ Union of Ireland (TUI) became the first academic union in Europe to endorse the Palestinian call for an academic boycott of Israel. The motion, which refers to Israel as an “apartheid state”, calls for “all members to cease all cultural and academic collaboration with Israel, including the exchange of scientists, students and academic personalities, as well as all cooperation in research programmes” was passed by a unanimous vote during today’s morning session.

Israel is the test that all the elite and opinionated see fit to take. Your views on Israel are a handy way of explaining your character. Steven Hawking recently agreed to boycott Israel. Hawking’s statement:

“I have received a number of emails from Palestinian academics. They are unanimous that I should respect the boycott. In view of this, I must withdraw from the conference. Had I attended I would have stated my opinion that the policy of the present Israeli government is likely to lead to disaster.”

Hawking is, however, happy to use Israeli technology in the computer equipment that allows him to function.

As for Israel, well, it’s a unique case. Howard Jacobson surmises his view:

I first heard the news in a motion passed by the University and College Union declaring that criticism of Israel can “never” be anti-Semitic which, if “never” means “never”, is a guarantee that Jew-hating is over, because … Well, because it’s impossible to believe that an active anti-Semite wouldn’t – if only opportunistically – seek out somewhere to nestle in the manifold pleats of Israel-bashing, whether in generally diffuse anti-Zionism, or in more specific Boycott and Divestment Campaigns, Israeli Apartheid Weeks, End the Occupation movements and the like. Of course, you don’t have to hate Jews to hate Israel, but tell me that not a single Jew-hater finds the activity congenial, that criticising Israel can “never” be an expression of Jew-hating, not even when it takes the form of accusing Israeli soldiers of harvesting organs, then it follows that there’s no Jew-hating left…

 “Peace”, that is all Professor Hawking seeks, a word that was left out of his statement as reproduced on the Palestine Solidarity Campaign website, presumably on the grounds that everyone already knows that peace is all the PSC has ever wanted too…

John MacGabhann, general secretary of the pro-boycott Teachers’ Union of Ireland, made clear when he talked of “expecting more of the Israeli government, precisely because we would anticipate that Israeli governments would act in all instances and ways to better uphold the rights of other”, which implies that he expects less of other governments, and does not anticipate them to act in all instances and ways better to uphold the rights of others. And why? He can only mean, reader, because those other governments are not Jewish.

I’d call this implicit racism if I were a citizen of those circumambient Muslim countries that aren’t being boycotted – a tacit assumption that nothing can ever be done, say, about the persecution of women, the bombing of minorities, discrimination against Christians, the hanging of adulterers and homosexuals, and so on, because such things are intrinsic to their cultures – but at least now that we have got rid of anti-Semitism, tackling Islamophobia should not be slow to follow.

Upon Israel, the vested interest groups and righteously fair minded have placed the burden of protecting the West from the enemies at the gates. Israel must also make amends for Western colonialism. Israel can be Nazi-like, they say. Israel can be using apartheid, they say. Israel, say the liberals and the Left, is the place where the discredited values of old and dusty Europe hold sway. And that won’t do. And with that Israel is no longer a country. It is a place where the guilt of the past can be beaten and cured.

Israel is the place where the elite turn to feel better about themselves…

POLICE have taken a call from an Orange County, Florida, hotel room. A woman told the police:

“Someone is fighting here, someone is fighting… like the person is trying to kill the person.”

The woman’s daughter adds:

“All I knew was that there was like something, and you could… hear, like, someone was screaming… for help. I don’t even know what was being done to them. And then there was growling in our hallway.”

At the Crestwood Suites, police found a man “covered in a significant amount of blood, with numerous bite wounds”. There were “significant” bites to his penis and testicles.

Not far away is a naked woman called Priscilla Vaughn. She was “nude, and had blood around her mouth, which had spread to her face and head”. She “growled and snarled” at deputies.

The man said Vaughn was a prostitute he’d hired for a Monday evening. They had dinner. They had drinks. Vaughn had an Ecstasy pill. At some point she “began to bite his genitals”.

Police also noted a sex toy at the scene. It too has been badly bitten.

Vaughn, 29, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, false imprisonment and tampering with the victim’s ability to contact law enforcement.

Men who use prostitutes may well shudder at the risk.

TV would have you believe that it is always women who aren’t in the mood for a bit of the other. However, here’s a story that flips the roles and takes it to a rather nasty place.

A 19-year-old woman has been accused of biting her boyfriend’s penis after he turned down her advances. The delightfully named Krystle Harrison was arrested last week on domestic battery charges following the alleged incident in Florida.

According to a report from the Manatee County sheriff’s office, Harrison bit the fella of Jeffrey Wilkinson while they were lying in bed.

“The victim and defendant were in bed. The defendant wanted to have sex with the victim and began to touch him,” a report said. “The victim informed the defendant several times that he did not want to partake. The defendant then grabbed the victim and bit his penis.”

The report went on to claim that Harrison followed Wilkinson, slapping him and spitting in his face.

Wilkinson also sustained scratches to his chest, but said he did not want to press charges nor seek medical treatment, because he was probably acting hard in front of police officers.

Just imagine the outcry is a man had toothily attacked a woman’s nether regions and spat at her because she refused sex.

As this is a woman attacking a man, it’ll just end up in the odd/funny sections of various publications.
