Let it be now known....that the word... "SuBo"...was brought to you by The Pen of Percy.....and unlike the Language Monitor compiled list of the miserable words in use today....I created "SuBo" for a light hearted laugh.
The most used English phrases of the last decade have consisted of a list of words that reflect misery & gloom according to Paul Paypack for Global Language Monitor.
Creating the word ...SuBo....was part of Percy's playful pleasure.....i hope you enjoy using it too.

Eve's side of the story

After three weeks in the Garden of Eden, God came to visit Eve.
'So, how is everything going?' inquired God.

'It is all so beautiful, God,' she replied. 'The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking, the smells, the sights, everything is wonderful, but I have just one problem.

It's these breasts you have given me. The middle one pushes the other two out and I am constantly knocking them with my arms, catching them on branches and snagging them on bushes. They're a real pain,'
reported Eve.

And Eve went on to tell God that since many other parts of her body
came in pairs, such as her limbs, eyes, ears, etc..........she felt that having only two breasts might leave her body more 'symmetrically
balanced'.

'That's a fair point,' replied God, 'But it was my first shot at this, you know. I gave the animals six breasts, so I figured that you needed only half of those, but I see that you are right. I will fix it up right away.'

And God reached down, removed the middle breast and tossed it into
the bushes.

Three weeks passed and God once again visited Eve in the Garden of
Eden. 'Well, Eve, how is my favorite creation?'

'Just fantastic,' she replied, 'But for one oversight. You see, the animals are paired off. The ewe has a ram and the cow has her bull. All the animals have a mate except me. I feel so alone.'

God thought for a moment and said, 'You know, Eve, you are right. How could I have overlooked this? You do need a mate and I will immediately create a man from a part of you. Lets see where did I put the useless boob?'

Now doesn't THAT make more sense than that crap about the rib?

Yampster on "Bromsgrove Rumblings"

Tensions mount in the Bromsgrove constituency as we wait for our MP Ms Julie Kirkbride to announce that she has changed her mind and has decided to stand again as Conservative MP. Ms Kirkbride chose to doff her tin helmet and drop her head below the parapet following interesting revelations about her expenses. The first inkling that she may not have been sincere about stepping down was when the local Conservative Association announced that she was waiting for the results of the Legg committee before making her decision. Now that we know that the Legg committee is a bit of a whitewash then there appears to be nothing to stand in her way for re-selection.

One of the more bizarre opposition groups to front up against Ms Kirkbride is the 'Best4Bromsgrove' group led by Dr David Nicholl

http://www.bromsgrovestandard.co.uk/news85395.html

Whilst I have every respect for Dr Nicholl's work as a Neurosurgeon and Human Rights campaigner, I find some of his requirements for a suitable parliamentary candidate rather strange. His proposed manifesto for the candidate chosen by his group includes the following ( Taken from the ex 'Julie Must Go' group on facebook, now renamed -
Elect Mark Anthony France as Bromsgrove MP!
in a superb coup de main by one of the prospective candidates)

"to be honest and transparent (we could ask for candidates to provide a reference from their current employer with a list of their claims for expenses for the last 2 years

to campaign for a referendum on PR

MPs should sit for a maximum of 3 Parliamentary terms (to encourage normal people in proper jobs to go to Parliament)

to campaign for fixed term Parliaments (again more likely to get normal people to apply, eg in the US, Condolezza Rice went from academia to work for President Bush and has now returned to academia)

to campaign for Ministers who are sworn in by Parliament (this could lead to the kind of system as in the US where people actually know about the subject get to do the job rather than the crazy system we have in the UK, eg the NHS with 1.2 million employees being run by a former postman, Alan Johnson)

that if 5-10% of a given MPs electorate ask them to resign, they do and this generates a by-election."

This was written in May before former Postman Alan Johnson moved to the DWP

This manifesto would give us a Prime Minister and other senior ministers with a maximum of 10 years experience in politics, if we assume they are all picked for the last of their 3 terms.

It would give us a high ranking military man at the ministry of defence (Bang goes the budget for that then)

And instant bye-elections in every marginal seat in the country as 5 -10% of the defeated opposition ask their new MP's to resign.

I will keep you informed

Any Crew photos from HMS Amethyst during the Yangtse River incident?

My late grandad was on the ship during this time and it would be great to find some more info out about his friends and his time on the ship.

There was an article on BBC 1's The One Show tonight and I am sure he was in one of the photos, but didn't record it so can't check.

"RIBBLE Valley MP Nigel Evans said it was ‘rather bizarre’ that more people were interested in X Factor’s Jedward twins than the future president of the European Council."

Maybe Jedward should run for president then. Twin presidents.

Do you have a secret you keep from your partner, that nothing short of torture or airing it on the radio or internet would drag out of you?

Well there's my shoe stash, but thats a secret from me as well , as I no longer have any idea how many I have, and handbags are fast catching up.

But for the rest, well my lips are sealed...
