Greenspan "Worst Economic Crisis I've Ever Seen"

    Hi Anorak,
Alan Greenspan has stated that the economic problems facing the USA are "the worst he has ever seen." It is apparently, so serious that it wouldn't take too much for a huge economic collapse with many big businesses going bust and major losses on World stock markets.

A few months ago,I wrote an article to Anorak which I called "Rumbles in the Financial Jungles." It was the fourth letter that I had written predicting the high possibility of serious economic problems with the UK economy.I stated that things were too good to be true, and, that manufacturing in Britain was in a steady fall, plus an overpriced housing market, high personal debt, increasing imports, and a loss of a competitive edge in markets would take its toll sooner or later. Now as the American economy starts to confirm that it is seriously sick, the stakes are raised higher around our world.

At the end of my Rumbles in the Financial Jungle letter I wrote," I hope I am wrong, but this year may yet prove a shocker....and so, stash away some money just in case the rumbles in the financial jungles begin to get even louder." From Greenspan's comments regarding America's economic situation there may be a tsunami of BIG problems coming soon that could knock a lot of people VERY hard and do immense damage.Hold on tight. The ride may be rougher than you might imagine.

    Regards,

Well looks like Barclays have turned down Lehmans pleas, and its the US taxpayers who might have to bail them out this time, after the 'saving' of Fannie and Freddy.

It was going to come, it had to....and there has been a plea to the B of E to lower rates to 4%.

John you haven't been alone, AGW has been warning all ever since the fall of Northern Rock.

The housing market is stagnant here, a lot of households into negative equity, the buy to let brigade are in serious trouble too, and with rising fuel and food costs

Just seen this and shall add it here

It is a nightmare over here, trust me! Drive down the streets in very nice areas and Foreclosures signs going up right and left. Stock market took quite a hit today and some people are losing their life's savings in one fell swoop. Gas went up the other day in some places by 89 cents more per gallon add-on to already outrageous prices even before Ike hit Texas! I was reading an article last week about the potential for suicides by people losing their homes. Trying to remember history but believe it was the Crash of 1929 or 32 that caused the multitude of people to kill themselves who lost everything and thus the Great Depression. Here is something from the news over here today but not the latest and it only worsens.
