Hi Anorakians,
There is regular news in the British media about more and more British people buying houses or apartments abroad. The prices of property in the UK has been going through-the-roof regularly for years, and for many its been difficult or impossible to get on the property ladder.
Many Brits also have found it favourable to buy second homes abroad. They often were able to buy much better homes for a low price than in Britain.
It was more than ayear ago that I wrote a letter to Anorak about the great property bargains in Brazil. You can for example, buy an apartment here of outstanding quality for about 25,000 English pounds.
So what would you get for your money? Well, a spacious apartment, with 2/3 bedrooms, two beautiful finished bathrooms, large living room, and an impressive kitchen.
In the apartment complex you will also have the use of private parking, personal gym, social room, and, many also provide 24hr security, plus tennis courts, volleyball court, and swimming pools. All of this is set in beautiful well-kept gardens.
Add the sun in tropical Brazil, and you've got a super place to live for the price of a modest car back in the UK.
People often think of Brazil as being a "third world" country, but if they got some first-hand experience they would be pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of many homes and apartments that are built here. The property is first-class.
I've seen shopping centres too that totally out-class many in Britain.
If for different reasons you didi'nt want to live in Brazil, these homes could be used by your family as regular holiday homes in the sun or even for business clients to enjoy. In my book, property in the UK is seriously over-priced and has become a rip-off in terms of what you get for your money.
Wonderful properties in cities or near beach resorts can be found all over Brazil...and my advice to those looking for property bargains is to check them out. You'll give the thumbs-up sign if you do!
Cheers from Brazil,
JOHN BLAKE
