Climate Change Delusion, It Ends At 2012 And Brown’s Plan
IN the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry, Joshua Wolf and Robert Salo of Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital note:
We describe a patient with climate change delusion, a previously unreported phenomenon. A 17-year-old man was referred to the inpatient psychiatric unit at Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne with an 8 month history of depressed mood… He also …had visions of apocalyptic events…
The patient had also developed the belief that, due to climate change, his own water consumption could lead within days to the deaths of ‘millions of people’ through exhaustion of water supplies. He quoted ‘internet research’ to substantiate this. The patient described that ‘I feel guilty about it’, had attempted to stop drinking… He was unable to acknowledge that the belief was unreasonable when challenged.
Well, the world will end in four years:
Two years ago, Patrick Geryl, then 51, quit his job as a laboratory worker for a French oil company. He’d saved up just enough money to last him until December 2012. After that, he thought, he wouldn’t need it anyway.
Instead, Geryl, a soft-spoken man who had studied chemistry in his younger years …
“You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left,” Geryl told ABC News from his home in Antwerp, Belgium. “We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch.”
… started preparing for the apocalypse. He founded a “survival group” for likeminded men and women, aimed at living through the catastrophe he knew was coming …
But don’t panic:
Mr Brown will call for the creation of a new international panel of experts – mirroring a similar panel for climate change – which will examine long-term trends in food supplies and offer advice to individual countries.

These people are obviously paranoid delusional with or without global warming. If it wasn’t that they would find something else to peg their end-of-the-world fantasies on. Most who believe in Global Warming, Peak oil (including myself) and other approaching catastrophic events take a far more balanced view of things. It could be a mess but you can’t put all of your efforts forward on a belief the world is coming to an end. It isn’t.
