Polar Bear Watch: Narwhals For Global Warming
POLAR Bear Watch: Anorak’s look at polar bears in the news…
ON Reuters, readers learn:
Arctic sea ice shrank to its second-lowest level ever, U.S. scientists said on Wednesday, with particular melting in the Chukchi Sea, where polar bears were recently seen swimming far off the Alaskan coast.
The story is illuastrated by a picture of a polar bear - as it must be. The bear seems to be drowning in a choppy sea. Unless it’s put down first.
The best proof for the ecological disaster we are heading towards is the recently reported case of the nine polar bears that were found swimming in open water at least 60 miles from shore. The sea ice on which they live keeps melting and bears have to swim a longer way to find food.
Or not.
Anyhow, if the polar bears are swimming, they should watch out for the narwhals.
First they came for the koala bears…

Just on Google Earth right now looking for a mountain to build a house on for me and my pets. Has to have a pub and a decent super-market close by and definitely a tobacco plantation. Coz I don’t want to live without fags!

And back in February…
“Ice between Canada and SW Greenland: highest level in 15 years.”
“Minus 30 degrees Celsius. That’s how cold it’s been in large parts of western Greenland where the population has been bundling up in hats and scarves.”
What a difference a few months can make.
Someone please remind me - did we have great shouting news headlines about such noteworthy events back in Feb?
I thought not.

Real Stig! That’s what I heard as well - but try telling that to a Government that wants to tax us millions of pounds for driving two and a half litre cars! lol

A few months ago in the city of Yellowknife, Canada, the temperature was 55 BELOW .
A real block of ice. Canadian homes and apartments are usually well- insulated and therefore, comfortably warm no matter how cold outside. The Canadians plug their cars in block heaters (electric points outside the homes) and this keeps the car engines from freezing overnight, and they normally start OK in the morning.
