Madeleine McCann: The Full Picture
“MADELEINE: The last picture.”
So says the Mail’s front page. And readers may take this as a literal. But this is not the final shot the paper will publish of Madeleine McCann. This is the last picture taken before Madeleine McCann disappeared.
Her parents have released this picture of their daughter smiling as she dips her toes in the holiday swimming pool.
And the papers are appreciative of the new development.
With no new suspects and no new leads, the Sun posts the picture on its front page.
This is “little Madeleine McCann”. She “smiles for the camera”. A new picture but no news, so the Sun explain what the picture shows.
It tells us that next to father Gerry dressed “in an orange top” is Madeleine’s sister Amelie. Next to Amelie is Madeleine. “She has a smile to melt any heart.” She is wearing a “pink” top. She is wearing a “sunhat”.
More news of this “last picture” in the Mirror, which promises to have the “FULL STORY”.
But there is no full story. There is just another picture. And though it tells a tale of a happy child, the holiday snap reveals little else other than the colour of Madeleine’s clothes, and the Sun has that line of enquiry covered.
So have you seen Madeleine? And have you seen those other children who are “MISSING LIKE MADDIE”?
Maddie is, of course, what the Sun has renamed Madeleine McCann. And today the paper has shots of other missing children.
Twenty-eight faces look out from the page. All are minors. All are missing. The Sun tells us that in the 22 days since the four-year-old went missing an estimated 1,100 other children under 16 have “vanished from homes in Britain”.
This is “International Missing Children’s Day”. And the Sun wants us to look at the faces of the missing teenagers and see if we know them?
So we look. And we read the potted stories beneath each picture. We study their measurements. And we realise that most are aged 16 and if they don’t want to be found then they won’t be.
And, in any case, in real life people change. It’s only their “last pictures” that remain the same…

There story is going to change tomorrow anyway! You would think if they have to make it up they would check to see if it was an accurate accounting of what could have happened . It is insulting to listen to there version of what happened.
Still hoping to hear news about Madeleine…She deserves better..He parents are making a mochary of her.

391 Gemma, Hiya, you don’t have to donate anything on that petition. It’s an option put there by the site owners. I don’t agree with it. If you read the page fully it says you don’t need to donate, sorry if it’s not been made clear enough for you.
399 A Person. I understand you don’t like me personally as you’ve made it abundantly clear during your previous postings on Anorak. However again, if you would take the time out to actually read that petition page, you will see that donation is a suggestion on the part of the petition site owners, and that you do not have to donate anything. All you’ve done here is made yourself look silly.
People that only read parts of things which appeal to them, or perhaps all they can be bothered to, leads to MISINFORMATION and CONFUSION and HALF A PICTURE. I therfore charge you with being one of those types of people, and can more or less dismiss whatever you say as a result of that.
The petition I started was a response to the McCann’s own, which for your information is hosted by the same people, that’s the only reason I did it.

I don’t think we will ever know the truth unless Madeline or her body is found . That is also looking highly unlikely.
My daughter–.
She is 8 and i still don’t let her out to play by herself..What a sad way to live, BUT the risks are just to high.
When we have children we have a duty to protect them untill they are able to protect themselves.
If her parents did not commit this crime they will live with the guilt untill the day they die and i do not have any sympathy for them.
Madeline was let down.

Well there at it again arnt they?. Gerry’s and the tapas 9 are trying to muddy the waters again. This time hes decided the ‘abductor’ was in the apartment all the time. The intruder gained access via the open sliding door and took her out the front window. This was because he knew he only had a few minutes to seize the child and didnt want to be seen from the Tapas bar This new theory is given front page news and the proof, well there isn’t any really but its what Gerry came up with.
Now what’s wrong with this? first why did he go out the front not through the sliding doors at the back.? Seems someone would notice someone climbing out of a window with a child!! Second wouldn’t it take longer? The supposed abductor knew he only had a 30miniute -maximum - window of time here. Wouldn’t he nip on grab her and out the fastest way? not taken time messing around opening windows. Third point. We already know the back door couldn’t be seen from the tapas bar or they would have seen him go in. So that doesnt make sense. 4th point .Devoted daddy states it was when he entered the apartment for first check at 9pm that he thinks the intruder was there then. He bases that on the kids bedroom door being ajar. He didnt actually see the child- I expect his dinner was getting cold. But if someone had watched them and planned to take this child he would have known he had 30 minutes till someone came back. He’d have gone in immediately after a check was made wouldn’t he ?not hidden in the apartment where he could have been discovered.
The rest of the party are changing stories again. Remember a man was seen carrying a bundle away from Murats house, then the man was carrying a child. finally hes carina child in pink PJ’s and hes got a funny eye. Then after another witness said he never saw anyone- its changed to hes walking towards Murat’s house. But want this from the back of the apartments? We’ve got the man who checked at 9.30 pm who first decided he listened, then that he actually went in the bedroom and saw her. But that counteracts Gerry’s assertion that the intruder took her just after 9pm. So now hes ‘remembered’ he just listened at the door.. After over 3 months of Kate supposably cried ‘they’ve taken her’ now their all sure she said is ’shes gone’.Like it hasn’t been reported in every paper and they just thought tell anyone? Their all a bunch of liars out to save their own skins and reputations. I cant wait till there all arrested and made to tell the truth.

That’s what the papers say but it was the French papers that stated she was killed by an overdose and the British and the Portuguese all of the Media but the leaks were said to have come from the Portuguese police SO THE PAPERS SAY but the papers don’t always tell the truth do they.
But you all choose to believe what’s wrote so what the hell.
Also The British lab in Birmingham were the ones that I read said the DNA was being exaggerated by the Portuguese police so that the McCann’s would get worried and confess, so with all the lies that are going around in the Media who is to believe what.
What I did say was that the evidence turned out to be exaggerated which it was, wasn’t it if they had the evidence they had then the McCann’s would be charged, but they don’t have it do they. They dont even have enough to re question them.

As a peds nurse my experience is that yes children want one particular colored vitamin , but will drink down a whole cup of something they shouldn’t. that’s because with the vitamin they have moms undivided attention and are driving her crazy. with the other stuff, its there. I have been amazed at the nasty tasting stuff they ingest. also many medicines come in liquid form and are flavored and many pills look like candy to kids
As for medicines like phenergan not calming a hyper child. they are not meant to. Phenergan is for nausea and itching. A side effect can be that the child does become sleepy or that it becomes more excitable. A medication shouldn’t be prescribed for a side effect as it was here because side effects are unpredictable- you cant pick the one you want .If like most people you took the doctors word it shows that doctors can be wrong because they dont know much about drugs and their side effects.

I cannot believe they used syringes on their kids, all three would have been screaming. Swabs cleaning the area etc would have been used, and if they purchased this in Portugal at a pharmacy the chemist would have come forward long ago.
I think they are only guilty of leaving the kids, which has cost them dearly.

id just like to comment on ur comment about the portugese police telling a pack of lies and the media, first of all the portugese police didnt release a statement about dna found in the car untill after they had recieved the tests back from a lab in birmingham!! (i know this as i was in portugal at the time and frequently watched a news channel over there called RTP)
and secondly it was the media over here in england that suggested MADDIE WAS KILLED BY OVERDOSE!

I think that charging someone to have their say on that petition is disgusting, someone trying to get money from someone else’s pain.
Andrew you should be ashamed of yourself putting that link up in a place like this and being the person that started it you should feel worse, maybe the donation doesn’t go to you but the fact that this is a forum about a lost child I think someone else gaining money because of that is disgusting.
I also feel that its all Rubbish, nearly every bit of evidence the police had against the McCann’s seems to have been exaggerated or lies, these people were in pain for the loss of their child and then the world judged them for a pack of lies told by the Portugal police and the Media.

Any mom of a 4 year old out there tried to look for a pink vitamin out of a bottle of 100 just to please a barbie mad child, or try purple for Barnie. Very few children this age will eat or drink anything unless it tastes and looks good.

I firmly believe that someone was waiting for an opportunity to grab the kid or a child of similar looks, and sadly had the gap to do so.
The whole overdose thing just does not add up for me, I just cannot accept things on face value it has to make sense. Unless the medicine tasted like milkshake there is no chance the child would have drunk such large doses willingly. A child of this age would have clamped it’s mouth shut if forced, and screamed it’s head off.

Phenagen is useless i was prescribed that for my daughter when we travelled back from cyprus she was a hyper child and needed to be calmed for the long journey.
I gave sarah the dose it said on the bottle and then she had more just before the flight this so i was told should have made her sleep untill the flight was at least well under way, she became more hyper.
It didnt make her sleep at all she just became so hyperactive i didnt know what to do with her.
The medicine didnt have a nice taste either it was like i was force feeding her poison the way she fought to keep it from going into her mouth.

My daughter at 12 months old while i was packing to move to another house found our medicine box. She ate 12 hay fever tablets triludan i think they were called 4 paracetamol and sucked on some asprin tablets of course she may only have got parts of these tablets as they would have tasted bad and she would have spat them out but she ate a fair ammount of the hay fever as they didnt have any taste.
She didnt show any signs of taking tablets untill afew hrs after and i didnt know what she had taken because i had not gone into the room where the boxes were kept, so i didnt realize anything untill the next morning when she would not wake up, she slept for the whole day and most of the next night i was told it would take alot more than this for her to have overdosed on the tablets and killed herself but she could have chocked from vomit.
I dont think the McCanns would have got the doses wrong if they drugged her they are Doctors and if they had of over dosed Maddy then the twins would have been too if this was the case then im sure the twins would have been the ones that would have been ill more than maddy as she was older than them.

I think in order for one to say the child was overdosed. The following would have to be looked at.
How much kids sleeping medicine would have to be taken in order to kill a child, if she was dosing all three then did she have enough bottles at hand to overdose her child.
Secondly unless it was not paediatric medicine, it would take quite alot to kill the child.
The other thing is if Madelein had supper and something to drink what would the reaction of the medicine and food mixed cause, possibly vomiting.
If the child let’s say died because of choking on their own vomit, then the smell of this odor is very strong and would have been detected in the bedding and on the mother. Anybody that has had a child’s vomit on them will know it takes a couple good washes to get rid of.
I would like to hear from a chemist or person who deals with this type of medicine what the most common reaction would be, as the instructions inside of these medicines say otherwise.

sedatives are not always in tablet form, there are such over the counter medicines such as medised(for pain relief) and phennagan( for travel sickness) that have sedative in them, with these such medicines they have been made especially for children so that means they have added flavourings to them to make it easier for the child to take

I am so glad to see the police are going back to basics and looking at a kidnapping case that happened in 2004. Because if Madelein was kidnapped there is nothing stopping the person doing it again the parents remain determined in their efforts to look for her.
It is possible that there relentless determination to find the child comes from the fact that they feel responsible for having left her in the first place. What if the sick person who has done this gets away with it because the parents are blamed. All 4 years olds are busy and all mom’s that I know get frustrated, this is no reason to kill a child a mother is alot stronger and deeper than that because as naughty as they are at 4, they are just as cute.
I believe that Kate would have had the sense being educated to get help if she was battling that badly with the children. How the hell do you get a 3 year old to swallow a bitter sleeping tablet even with water, I battle to get mine to take a small vitamin.

I sent information, press clips and postings on to my friend Dr Ann who lives in India and works as a medical doctor at the world famous Vellore Hospital. Dr Ann was awarded “India’s Best Medical Student” when she qualified some years ago in Southern India. This was her response to what she had read about Gerry & Kate McCann:
“Marlene, I read all the stuff you had sent me re: the McCann affair. I find it amazing that educated parents can leave a 4 yr old and 2 yr old kids alone in a place strange to them [or any where for that matter] with the door open [why ?] and go out for a meal. I find it hard to be sympathetic to them. They also raise money to find the child and spend it on going around places themselves to raise awareness? Nowadays, so much that the press writes is 1/2 truths, so we cant believe all we read in the papers. My “gut” wonder is whether the McCanns sedated the kids so they would sleep and let the parents have their night out and somehow overdosed the child Madeleine. In any case they have only themselves to blame. Sorry if I sound unsympathetic. I don’t really need any more info on this matter. bye, Dr Ann.”
Marlene says, I hope the McCanns are innocent or can prove their innocence beyond all reasonable doubt. I think Kate McCann if she is pursued any further by the police or anyone else about this case is likely to have a nervous breakdown or go insane. Please pray for the speedy closure of this sad case.

The money that has been raised by the general public I feel, should not benefit the family, it was raised primarily to search for madeleine and to help other missing children. Personally I do not feel they need to enhance the madeleine campaign with more photographs of this lovely child and I’m sure none of us will ever forget her, her face is imprinted on our brains. Therefore I feel it should be used to highlight other cases as well, instead of celebrity trips around the world.

After reading all the different takes on what has happened to the little girl and who did what, I spoke to a good freind of mine who works at a prison of 4000 prisoners and asked her if she thinks that the parents are guilty.
She reminded me of a case last year where we had a 5year old go missing, the media made a big thing about it and they could not find the child. Because the mom was single and the child hyperactive she became the main focus and a suspect six months later they found the childs body 2km’s from the house, the body told a different story the child had been kidnapped and killed by someone walking by the house. The police had also searched the area with dogs, helicopters etc.
My friend also said that we do not understand how much pressure high profile cases put on police and they are put in a place where the case needs to be resolved.
This has made me think about things differently and maybe it is not such a good idea to get the media so involved to start with.

who really cares how the funds are spent why does the money mean more to people on here than the missing child, since the start of this its been posted so many times about it being a scam or people moaning they have done this to get all the fund money but why would they give motives they dont have any so if they murdered Madeleine for the fund give a reason why they would do it and how the knew the result would be so high.
To start with they have the legal bills being paid for them so they dont need to use the fund for legal reasons but if they did what is there that anyone can really do, they have to prove where the money is going and if they do sweep abit here or abit there then so what, hearing people harp on about the fund gets really annoying money makes people evil.
