Not Another Madeleine McCann
“I WAS terrified,” says Beverly Fleetham. “I kept thinking of Madeleine McCann’s family and I remember saying, ‘Don’t let this happen to me.’”
The Express brings more. “My partner Steven raced off in his car to look in all the places Morgan likes playing. It was the worst three hours of my life.”
Beverly dials 999. Friends and family search the woods and gardens in Kelty, Fife.
Morgan, aged five, wakes up. She has been asleep in the back of her mother’s car.
Phew!
If you have any stories about games of hide-and-seek that went too far and calling for your child and not hearing them respond in an instant, call the Express.
It could be you…

from an early age, (before cell phones) I always told my kids that if they get seperated from me at a shopping mall or at a fete, they must go back to the car and wait there and speak to no - one, this worked in the past - of course many years ago, my older boys are 21 now. my younger son (8) has a cell phone and mum and dads number are the only ones on it. but we are far more protective than we used to be. you have to be now dont you? I would never have put my childrens life in danger and I always had a baby sitter when we went out.
this story is very sad, but what has happened has happened so lets focus on getting Madeleine back home

The curse of the tabloid stikes again!
There are more stories of peadophiles in the papers now than ever before, that’s not to say there has been any major increase in peadophile activity only that any supposed activities are now more highligheted than they used to be. There is more danger to children from the increased traffic on our roads than any anonymous `Child Catcher’ lurking in the woods.

John -It’s every parent’s worst nightmare - as the parents never tire of telling us

It is not just that they are in more danger on the roads, statistically they are in more danger from father/ uncle/ music teacher than they are from a child abductor.

Indeed so.

point is it still happens..although rarely as you have said..traffic etc are problems that will never go away as people will always drive..but maybe there is something that could be done about child abduction..
anyone caught for a sexual offence against a child or anyone for that matter should be chemically neutered as in some places in america..this way there isnt a worry of reoffending..and its certainly a deterrant..
thats me being nice about it..i personnally think peadophiles should be beaten to death but that will never be legal lol…

The problem with the ’sponsored paedo hunt’ or whatever guise it assumes, is that it makes people assume that it will eliminate danger from their kids, but in fact all that happens is that they are looking outwards instead of where the statistically greater risk comes from.

Stan, I agree with you totally. paedophiles should be beaten to death by the victim’s parents and relatives! It seems that with the advent of the internet these disgusting creatures have more ways of going about their filthy business in a far more covert manner. Look at the amount of people caught via MySpace - all networking with each other!

They should be beaten ad the be eunuque .
So no more plaisure anymore with no one and never more with children .

Totally agree, remove their weapons, so it is impossible for them to offend again, chemically, surgically and in any other way necessary!

Pedophiles look for children. They are targets. I haven’t, at least so far, heard of any cars specifically going after children. And, yes, child abductions and child porn has increased. It’s easier today to get away with being a sick human predator. With the internet anyone can get anything they want no matter how depraved. Indulgence and glutteny. Instant gratification.
