Madeleine McCann: Murat ‘Cleared’, A Volvo And Urs Hans Von Aesch
BELGIAN police are searching for the owners of the black Volvo in which Madeleine McCann was removed from a Belgian restaurant.
Madeleine was spotted by Katleen Sampermans. The “33-year-old therapist is professionally qualified in child welfare”. The Express places much stock in qualifications and education – see quotidian mentions of cardiologist Gerry McCann and GP Kate – and affords more time to Ms Sampermans’ testimony.
But the car has not been found. Shame. We wonder if the Belgian police are up to the job?
“Of course we are taking this sighting seriously, because that is our job,” says Detective Houben Eddy.
There are sightings of Madeleine McCann in Spain. Sightings in Morocco. Sightings in Malta. Sightings in Wales. Police are looking for Madeleine McCann all over Europe. But no-one has found her. Are they failing? Or is it an impossible job?
And the Swiss police are looking in. Alleged child abductor Urs Hans Von Aesch has killed himself. His body is slumped in a car. He was the prime suspect in the disappearance of Ylenia Lenharda, a five-year-old Swiss girl (pictured).
The Express says Ylenia bears a “striking resemblance to Madeleine”. She does not; not unless all white children look alike.
Readers learn that Von Aesch might have been holidaying in Portugal when Madeleine McCann went missing.
They read that Ylenia vanished last Tuesday from a swimming pool in north-east Switzerland. Von Aesch was the chief suspect. He was on the run. And he shot a man. This man is in Swiss hospital. The Express cites the theory that this man had evidence on Von Aesch and was silenced.
Anorak readers may wonder where all this speculation leaves Robert Murat. He has not shot himself. He remains at large.
The Mirror talks of “mounting speculation” that she is about to be cleared.
If so, the Mirror says the “Portuguese investigation” will be back to square one. Perhaps it would have been different had a Mirror journalist not turned police on to “creepy” Murat and then announced her suspicions to the world?
If Murat is cleared, the papers will pursue him for his story. They will surely pay him for his time.
And Madeleine McCann will still be missing…

Murat was probably telling the truth - that he had nothing to do with her disappearance HOWEVER maybe he wasn’ telling the whole truth - meaning he didn’t take her but maybe he WAS paid to deliver her….

Well - what a cynical lot we have on this site. Having taken the time to read through some of the mail I am surprised that you are all such good judges of the McCanns. Has the human race become so hardened that they lack compassion for their fellow man. The McCanns have shown dignity throughout their ordeal & have done their best to try & get their daughter back despite the obvious lack of desire of the PJ to do the same. Their incompetence & covering up makes me angry - there is obviously no democracy in that country. I am 110% sure that the McCanns had nothing to do with their daughters disappearance & perhaps if the Portuguese took paedophilia more seriously they would have long ago had a system set up to track known child molesters. It’s a country that I will certainly not be taking my children to & I hope that other British & Irish feel the same.

i am so surprised no one has comment on todays news, well i will.
about time soon that the police started questioning the parents more serious we might finaly get some answers and maybe the little can be found or layed to rest.
reading a one of kates freinds comments on kates reaction about being a suspect she is dissapointed. well is i was a suspect in my child disapearnces i would be more than disapointed.
well whats going to happen to the twins now and also all that the money that was raised the mccanns should no longer be looking after either.

Not sure how much i believe this…..The twins are 2-1/2 yrs old, going to day care, the beach, the zoo, swimming at friends homes, enjoying their Holiday…..Right after Maddie went missing, i’m sure they have noticed her not there. But IMO they will go on with their lives and eventually forget her. And what 2-1/2 yr old will not want to open presents? I believe this is a way for the Mccanns to get more sympathy from us the readers. Just like the LAST picture of Maddie was posted, and her last words…
Two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie often ask parents Gerry and Kate to lay a place for their older sister at meal times at the villa where they are staying in the Algarve.
The McCanns are contemplating returning to the UK
The toddlers have also refused to unwrap some of the many presents from well-wishers – including a jigsaw and cuddly toys – so they can give them to Madeleine when she comes home.

everything you have just said i have heard before or read it some where before.
not the bussniess about the cottage, rose or white van. but the things about a pond, fish smell, men argueing and dora.
dont ask me where i cant think and i hvae sreached the net as to where i read it but i just cant remember,
but i know for sure i have heard those things before.
we have to have find this girl dead or alive cos no one will rest. i think about my son and if it was me in that situation. its got to be the not knowing what happened and where she might be, no matter what the outcome is going to be life will never be the same again for that family and i wouldnt wish that up on anyone.

Every time there is a breakthrough it is delayed or disappears from public scrutiny. Is this a game of cat and mouse between McCann’s and police. Now Gerry is saying Madeleine could be living in Spain with a couple “How nice” he is painting a nice picture. Its better than “murder” or “accidental overdose” as is being implicated. Why is the public looking for answers as to what happened to Madeleine and the McCann’s seem to be only interested in defending themselves from accusations? Souldn’t he be most irate at how slow this investigation is going? If he is being falsly accused this should not take prcedence over investigating and finding Madeleine. Gerry! thou protest too much!

wow Ann i too hope it is not true. There is not much to go on. Now we hear of sightings in Spain. Also we are waiting for the search and arrest that has been delayed. That is about it. Didnt the white van belong to that guy that killed himself in reference to the other girl’s disappearance? Nothing came of the man in hospital either. I wonder if they ever got to question him?

THE search for Madeleine McCann was dealt a devastating blow last night after it was revealed that DNA tests needed to unlock the case will not be ready for weeks.
Officers have been on standby, ready to arrest a suspect as soon as the results are confirmed. But the crucial evidence is still not ready. DNA samples were taken earlier this month from the bedroom where the four-year-old girl disappeared. The discovery of the samples led to what detectives described as a “decisive stage” in the investigation.
OK…are these people slow or what? This is nuts. Hopefully the BIG delay will be worth it. And hopefully they keep an eye on whoever it is they are watching. Would hate to get the info back and this person is no where to be found

OK all of you, let’s put a few more cats among the pigeons. I have a friend I have known for fifteen years, she is a Medium and is always, repeat always , 85% to 90% right in what she comes out with, down to tiny details. Forget Brian and his brainstorms, he should take more water with it. A week after Madeleine disappeared she was being “given” information, for want of a better word, and she passed it all on to the Leics. Police, the Portuguese Police, the various papers and Sky news and never had a word back from any of them, and why ? oh yes….I forgot, she is a Medium and they are all cranks aren’t they ??!! Well this is what she says and I hope none of it comes true because it will give me no pleasure to say ” we told you so” . Firstly she picked up on a dillapidated old farnhouse with a very old rose growing round the door, the old boy who used to live there, now in spirit, says that he and his wife Maya, or Maia, planted it and he was upset that the building had been allowed to fall into disrepair. This place is in high, rough terrain and also my friend picked up on a white van. Now - she thought, obviously , that this was somewhere near Praia de Luz but think about it….there is now this old Swiss boy who has been shot and is allegedly in hospital awaiting interrogation, who lives in a dillapidated farmhouse and owns a white van. She also picked up on an apartment in Spain with a jewellers / gift shop at the bottom but doesn’t know what the significance of that might be. She then got a contact with Maddie ( sneer if you dare )who told her she didn’t like it in the dark room, there were two men arguing outside who came in and shone a light in her eyes ( looking for the blemish no doubt ) they then went out again and shouted loudly at each other and they “..talked like Dora” . Anyone with kids will know Dora the Explorer is a kiddies programme and she teaches simple Spanish, she also said she misses Pickles. Maddie then said “..the big white angel took her out of the water and Mummy will find her when the rains come”. She also came through to my friend whilst she ( my friend) was staying with her daughter and grandsons, and Maddie said she had been to see their guinea pig which looked just like her Pickles ( see above) She also said Mummy had a “Polly Pocket” wrapped up for her birthday and that she, Mummy, had hurt her middle toe whilst wearing her sandals. My friend tried to find out where she was but Maddie got upset and just said the place smelt badly of rotten fish. My friend has the impression that she is in still water somewhere, a pond ? a well ? a water tank ? and presumably when she says that Mummy will find her when the rains come is because this thing will overflow….so think about that lot for a while !!

Portuguese newspaper Tal & Qual ran a front-page picture of Mr and Mrs McCann and the headline: “Police believe parents killed Maddie”.
Inside, the paper alleged Madeleine died as a result of an overdose of sedatives given to help her sleep, the British Press Association reported.
The McCanns denied giving her such medication.
Tal & Qual claimed Portuguese detectives “are almost absolutely certain that Madeleine was killed by accident by her parents”.
Odd the police would just make something up isnt it? They must have some sort of evidence to THINK this!!

I think Gerry is trying to redirect the attention away from him. That is why he say’s she is in Spain? The police probably know something is not adding up. But need concrete evidence….I think Gerry is going to dodge this bullet and we are never going to find out. I hope I am wrong and someone is holding Madeleine. Although there has been only isolated sitings which never pan out..What happened to the arrest?Supposedly the police told the McCanns not to leave. Why?

Gerry is so sure Maddie is in Spain. If she is, then how does he know?
In the beginning of the case he kept saying they were sure she was alive and being looked after. Could the Mccanns have her stashed there? I mean i think anything goes with this case. I do hope she is alive and well.
Then again, the police seem to have some type of evidence that was to lead to a search and arrest last week? What happen with that? Any new news?

after reading all the latest developmnts you have all posted and your comments its looking more and more suspicious that the mccanns are involved.
in he beginging they said hey would not leave porgutal wihout her and if that ment selling the house and everything they own, they would do it.
so why is now that money has run dry they are coming home.
and useing the twins as an excuse they are doing it for them, up untill now they havent thought about the twins they have been second best to maddie and the campaigain. they didnt think twice about leaving them behind when visting the pope or presdenet.
and how is visting the pope and the usa going to help find maddie.
whats going to be worse is if it turns out to be the parents all that money that was raised and the reward all the starts put up for finding her. what waste all the peolpes trust will have been broken and the deceit.

I keep saying i HOPE they are not involved in Maddie’s disappearance. I call it that, cause that is all we know…she disappeared.
Not to sure about this sighting in Spain. I hope it is. I thought Gerry would jet off to check it out. But look what happen in Belgium, I think people WANT to see Maddie. I’m glad people are making reports even if they THINK it is her (not that the police can check them all out.) What have the Mccanns actually done, besides have a balloon launch, make posters, jet around, give interviews, visit the Pope, hoped to visit the President of the USA. Have they actually LOOKED for her? We have 2 older ladies missing here in OHIO, and the family has actually had tons of people offer to LOOK. When Jessie(the murdered pregnant girl) went missing here, TONS of people showed up to actually walk the streets and LOOK.
This is one of the strangest cases i have read about and it actually upsets me that Maddie is missing.
As far as the Mccanns going home for the twins sake, that is sorta funny, the twins seem to be having quite a good time…..

Yes! The reason why they are bent out of shape is because it is getting too hot in the kitchen. They are now leaving Algrave. Why? They have manipulated the press from the beginning. Now everything is closing in on them…I hope I am wrong…Gerry say’s madeleine could be alive and in Spain? Could that be another curve ball?? If Madeleine is out there, why is Gerry not doing something? Conduct his own investigation…He is very tricky.

IMO if the police are suggesting the accidental drug overdose, they have some type of evidence…..

Are the McCann’s spending any of the donations on hiring their own Private Investigator? Or is it just publicity,publicity and more publicity about kate & gerry and how they are coping. It appears to be a cat and mouse game between them and any so called investigation. What happened to the arrest?

THE family of missing English girl Madeleine McCann are furious after a Portuguese newspaper report which said police believed she was killed by her parents.
The four-year-old’s father Gerry was accused, along with his wife Kate, of accidentally killing Madeleine with an overdose of sedatives.
It is 114 days since Madeleine vanished from her bed in the McCanns’ holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, while her parents were at a nearby restaurant.
The McCanns, both 39, have remained in the Algarve with their two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie, clinging to the hope that Madeleine would be found alive.
Now what if the Mccanns did sedate her and she died…..what a joke this whole thing has been. WHY would the police make up these accusations if they dont have some evidence?

There are so many inconsitentreports. Kate McCann was driving a car when GM went to the apo to fly to the USA. Plus he was seen removing a suitcase from apt.(Timesonline?). The night that Madeleine went missing parents say she was sleeping between twins..It is also said the twins were in their own cribs? Why would Kate McCann’s immediate reaction be that she was abducted. That is what her initial respone was? Now they (McCann’s) believe that there is a possibilty that she is alive and in Spain. How do they know this??

just a thought…i wonder if the police have actually watched the McCanns to see where they go. I mean if they had Maddie hiding some place, they would go to check her. Someone has said that maybe she was in a church and that is why Kate is always there?
It is odd if she died in the apartment, how did they get her out? Suitcase? Kate has said they did not kill her by overdosing her and how would they get rid of her body, she said something to the affect that they dont have a car? They have not used a car while on Holiday? There are so many unanswered questions in this case. I hope Maddie is alive and well, SOME WHERE, but as the time goes on, i dont see that happening…..

The missing girl’s normally mild-mannered father, Gerry, could barely contain his anger at the smear, which accused him and his wife, Kate, of accidentally killing Madeleine with an overdose of sedatives.
He also hit out at anonymous police sources behind the whispering campaign being waged against the couple.
Someone stated that Madeleine was a sleepwalker and that her parents used drugs to sedate her. Does anyone remember who said it? I believe they had a family member confirm she did walk in her sleep.
This might explain why the twins sleep thru everything?
Why would the police start a smear campaign against the parents? Was it a slow business day? They do say they have that bit of evidence they used when they say that Madeleine died in the apartment. What could that be? They must have something BIG. Plus these phone calls and texts and emails? Was there something to that?
Maybe they are giving bits of info to see how the Mccanns will react. If they have nothing to hide, then they have nothing to worry about. But they seem to be freaking out…..

You know i dont understand alot of what is going on with this case. I dont understand alot of what the Mccanns do or say. I do remember reading that they would not leave Portugal without Madeleine, and now they are talking about going home for the twin’s sake…your right, the twins will go on to lead a normal life(sad but true if Maddie is never found they will forget her)
Still waiting on the BIG search and arrest in the UK…..does seem odd that the Mccanns start talking about going home when things are in the works.

Is this the lull before the storm?Thought there was going to be an arrest soon?
The McCann’s are now contemplating life without Madeleine. The twins will have a “normal” life with no ill effects. Is this a case of the “heir’ and the “spare”. Was Madeleine the “spare”..Where is the justice for Madeleine. Every action deserves a reaction.

jdixon…..now dont forget, Gerry thought the twins disturbed Maddie and she was in her parents room….isnt that where the blood was? How did it get there if she was sleeping between the twins? I dont know how someone strange person could just carry off a child…even a baby would cause a scene…
