Madeleine McCann’s Parents Have Had Enough

madeleine-mccann.jpgMADELEINE McCann is on the Express’s front page. “MADELEINE,” says the headline, “We want to be the first to know what’s happened to her, say distraught parents.”

Well, they had best not rely on the Express, which has yet to shed any light on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, although it has cast shadows – yesterday we read of ‘suspect’ James Jerrod.

A source “close” to Kate and Gerry McCann tells the Express: “They have had enough of all this speculation and rumour.”

The Express says Madeleine might be dead. She might have been killed in the family apartment. It might have been murder. Or an accident…

  1. 1 The Usual Suspect Says:

If they don’t want speculation and rumour then ignoring the press would be a good start.

  2. 2 Truthman Says:

I speculate that the speculation will continue in the very paper that reports that speculation is doing no good.

How do I claim my £5?

  3. 3 penster Says:

I didn’t realise that the secrecy laws in Portugal possibly extend to excluding the parents of the missing girl of any developments. That’s pretty poor.

  4. 4 tony Says:

I agree Penstar, I would have thought they would be the first to know every little development that happens. must be terrible to have to buy the paper or log on to internet to see what the latest on your missing daughter is

  5. 5 Barry Says:

They’ve had enough??????????????? What about us?

  6. 6 paddy Says:

I suspect the parents WERE the first to know what happened to Madeleine, long before the police did. But I believe the police know now.

  7. 7 The Usual Suspect Says:

    Tony,

If they buy a paper they only get speculation on what is happening, rather than any facts. For facts they need to rely on the police.

  8. 8 Carol Says:

I’m sorry but that is ludicrous, if K & G had anything at all to do with Madeleine’s disappearance then why would they draw so much attention to themselves. I for one believe they have not harmed their daughter and that the poor innocent child was abducted by some sick animal. I wouldn’t like to summise whether she is still alive but pay that she is safe and well somewhere.

  9. 9 sandra Says:

Shouldn’t the DNA results be back soon??? I wonder who will get them first, the parents or the media!

  10. 10 Anna (UK) Says:

It should be completely obvious to anyone with a half a brain that the reason the PJ have suddenly distanced themselves from the McCanns is that they suspect them, or at the very least their friends, of involvement in her disappearance. It’s a terrible thing to contemplate but isn’t it looking more and more that way?

  11. 11 tony Says:

Sandra, watch the press releases, they will let you know the outcome of the dna than you can phone the maccanns and let them know

  12. 12 Alana Says:

The McCann’s cannot, not read the newspapers come on do you think they are supposed to act like ostriches, and I am certain that the headlines of every paper stare them in the face at every corner stand, every shop window and even coffee shops. yes it would be better to rely on the police giving them information, but think about it seriously, have the police been very open to this point with the information they have, Mmm no I don’t think so. GIVE THESE POOR PARENTS A BREAK. If any of you are parents you would understand where they are coming from.

  13. 13 penster Says:

Anna if the PJ are distancing themselves from the Mccanns it’s prob b/c the case will be wound down. It’s gone nowhere, just decimated everyone’s life and consumed untold resources. Kate and Gerry are about as popular in Praia de Luiz as a pig in a synagogue, the only official suspect was dobbed in by a gutter journo and Madeleine’s no doubt (unofficially at least) presumed dead. In this case, I’d have to say that no news is bad news.

  14. 14 The Usual Suspect Says:

Perhaps this is just another step to ‘Dianafication’, didn’t she just want the press when they were nice to her…

  15. 15 LUCY DEBONO Says:

I DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR THE PARENTS, HOW CAN THEY ASK HOW GOD ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN, IT IS PURELY THEIR FAULT, FOR NEGLIGENCE, WHEN YOU TRAVEL WITH CHILDREN THEY ARE YOUR PRIORITY AT ALL TIMES, YOU DONT LEAVE THEM ALONE JUST FOR THE SAKE OF ENJOYING YOURSELVES. EVEN ANY ACCIDENT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO THE TWINS, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN CHOKED WITH A VOMIT, THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE INTELLIGENT PERSONS, BUT FOR ME THEY SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR ABANDONING THEIR CHILDREN, YOU SIMPLY DO NOT DO THAT, IT IS AGAINST THE LAW AND THEY SHOULD BE PUNISHED.

  16. 16 penster Says:

TOO BLOODY RIGHT LUCY DEBONO NOONE IN THESE FORUMS HAS EVER LOOKED AT IT FROM THAT ANGLE BEFORE. CAN EVERYONE HEAR ME?

  17. 17 Carol Says:

I seriously cannot condone that they left the children alone and would not have done it myself. However, they did and are now suffering the worst kind of punishment which they will have to endure for the rest of their lives. The main issue here is Madeleine and she is still missing. All our energies should be directed into making sure that the monster who abducted her is found and stopped from taking/hurting/murdering any other innocent children

  18. 18 sandra Says:

    AMEN CAROL!!!!!

  19. 19 Nobby Says:

I hope the people who critisize the Mccann’s have no children of their own, because they seem pretty heartless. If my little girl went missing I would want to turn the entire world upside down. Give them a break they are only doing their best. If they are guilty of being negligent they are paying a price way too high.

  20. 20 the edge Says:

tony….I think you’ll find the mccanns already know the results of the DNA

And for gods sake everyone else the mccanns are being given info by the Pj as if you listen to Gerry you’ll hear him say so many times and you’ll also hear him keep saying “I canny comment on this, I canny comment on that, I wouldnee wanna put the investigation at risk blaa blaaa blaaa”

As far as im concerned he is totally full of CRAP

  21. 21 penster Says:

Nobby I agree, there is nothing you would not do to recover your child. When people call for the Mccann’s to be drawn and quartered, there is no mention of punishing all the parents who have done the same ie other members of their holiday party. The Mark Warner resort provided a listening in service - not looking in, listening in. So the resort actually sanctioned leaving kids unattended in rooms with only intermittant listening in. I hate that anyone could leave their kids like that, but the Mccann and co were doing what the resort provided except that they also looked in on their kids. Clearly the message is that this is a safe thing to do (what the) and plenty of other holidaymakers have taken advantage of the service and are no doubt thanking their lucky stars that it was not their child that was taken. Has the Mark Warner resort changed it’s service in this regard?

  22. 22 the edge Says:

NOBBY you friggen knobend what the hell do you mean give them a break you fooooooool. “turn the world upsidedown” WHAT?????? Maybe it would be easier to turn a bloody KEY in a door!!!!! If the mcfools had done that before going out NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED…………………………..

  23. 23 martin Says:

The ‘apologists’ for the McCannn on here should realise that they are to blame for their own predicament.

For starters do you seriously believe that leaving such young children on their own is worthy of anything but disgust amonst normal, rational people?

Do you also realise that though they’ve given the ‘impression’ of concern with their awareness bandwagon they have at no stage actually physically looked for their child or made any serious or consistent pleas to a supposed ‘abductor’?

In the absence of ANY evidence of actual abduction, what do you expect people to assume…..?

Lets hope the parents are guilty of nothing more than serious child neglect but to condemn people for what are becoming perfectly logical assumptions or conclusions is absurd.

The circumstances may prove to have conspired against them but the more the passing of time, the more the McCanns and their ‘friends’ will come under justified scrutiny.

If you have an open mind you cannot deny this avenue of speculation and proper investigation. It doesnt mean they’re guilty but they have to be investigated until answers are found. They are just as much ’suspects’ as anyone else now………

  24. 24 JuneJohnson Says:

Surely if people don’t agree with company policy re babysitting and hiring of nannies, then they could choose another holiday venue that does provide such services?

  25. 25 Nobby Says:

“The edge” Well they did not, so everytime a parent makes an error in judgement their child should be killed or abducted? Is that what you are saying? I am sure you would have had plenty to say if they did nothing.

  26. 26 spidermantra Says:

    isn’t this all really boring?

  27. 27 Sas Says:

Yes the mccanns have done wrong but I am still feeling for them, but like Carol says the most important thing is to find madeleine. It is not Madelienes fault that she was left alone.

  28. 28 Nobby Says:

You are right Sas. This little girl is missing and if she is still alive she must be terrified. I am not saying the Mccanns were right in leaving her alone, and personally I would never have done it myself, but it must be the worst kind of hell to go to bed at night and not knowing where your child is, whether she is hurt, hungry, cold?

  29. 29 Churchrat Says:

Gerry and Kate’s anguish and regret are dwarfed by Madeleine’s terror and pain. Jailtime for both!

  30. 30 Marj Says:

I think a number of you are being hypocritical. When I go on holiday many many parents put their children to bed and then the parents go to some other location within the hotel and check on the children from time to time. If you actually look at the layout of the complex where the McCann’s were staying you will note the restaurant where they dined could be regarded as part of the hotel/complex, they did not go out on the ‘town’!!!
