Madeleine McCann: It Could Be Today
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: MADELEINE: Mum’s secret prayer: ‘Today could be the day she comes home’ (Plus pages 6 and 7, with logo: THE HUNT FOR MADELEINE: Day 123).
THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER brings the news that the McCanns’ “struggle to keep their spirits up by constantly reassuring each other: ‘Today could be the day Madeleine comes home.’”
The so-called “secret prayer” was revealed in the course of a long statement by Kate McCann, presumably in the course of a not-very-secret press conference.
The paper reports that the McCanns have been “persuaded to move back to their £600,000 home”.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 6: McCanns call for Euro register of offenders.
The Telegraph reports that the McCanns were shocked to find that parts of Europe were safe havens for sex offenders.
DAILY MAIL page 25: Maddie mother’s 4 months of agony
The paper says Kate McCann has told how her world ‘fell apart’ and could scarcely believe so long had passed since she last heard her daughter’s giggle.
DAILY MIRROR page 27: KATE TELLS OF AGONY: ‘It’s four months since we’ve heard her laugh, seen her smile, cuddled her.. Each day we say, today could be the day Madeleine comes home.. we have to keep hoping’
The paper says that in Rothley, Leicestershire, “locals re-created a chain of hope using yellow and green ribbons”. This was first done by church-goers in Praia da Luz.
THE STAR page 22: PALS FEAR MADDIE DAD CRACKING UP
The paper brings us the story of Gerry “storming” out of a TV interview last week.
THE SUN page 19: Maddie words of comfort
The paper says that the couple repeat a mantra in Portuguese, that was given them by the priest who spoke at the first Sunday Mass after Madeleine’s disappearance. Translated, it means “hope, strength, courage”.
THE INDEPENDENT, THE TIMES and THE GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today.

May I, hopefully, be the first to wish the Portuguese press all the best in the possible court case.
I fear this may be an acting ‘bridge too far’ for these wasters and with any luck they will crack, be convicted and then all you sad acts can go back to worrying about Diana or whatever hopeless cause divorces you from reality.

OK, here’s a competition for you. No prizes for the winner, but who do you think will be first (apart from my good self) to post on here.
We have some of the usual suspects listed below.

And what is the similarity between these people - yes you’ve guessed it - they have no life. Outside of these pages they are the nonentity that you wouldn’t notice even if they were on fire.
They are the nobodies who were always picked last at games and then along come forums like these and they think they can be someone with opinions that will be heard.
I’ve got news for you people - apart from bastards like me who come on here with evil intent - the rest are sad acts like yourself, who probably have the mouse in one hand and their dick (or vibrator) in the other
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:43 am
Well obviously Teddy Boy you are the one with no life, seeing as you are the only one to have posted.
Your dick is not in your hand mate but on your head, get a life!!
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:48 am
oh my…. kids are still off school I see… how utterly entertaining…
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:50 am
Mr T Boy (emphasis on the boy bit) all those posters are always interesting and worth reading, and they can all probably multi task as you suggest, unlike you. So why dont you just run along now sonny and let the grown ups have a decent conversation.
September 3rd, 2007 at 10:58 am
Why do newspapers always tell us how much peoples houses are worth, is having a £600,000 house supposed to have some relevance on their feelings, it is almost intimating that they will soon get over the loss of their child cos they have a £600,000 house to cheer them up. Or even that we should not feel sorry for them cos they have a £600,000 house you know.
If their house was only worth £200,000, would they have been pursuaded not to return home?
Why are newspapers so shit and why do so many people buy them?
September 3rd, 2007 at 11:05 am
Chopper,
Newspapers are shit because that is what people will buy, and people buy them because shit is what they actually wish to read (for some reason I have not yet been able suss).
We only get the press we deserve.

Madeleine has been missing for over 123 days. If we stop now, sit and do nothing then we achieve NOTHING.
Your help may be just what Madeleine, and other children need right now. So if you want to do SOMETHING, then please join us and assist the search.
WHAT WOULD I HAVE TO DO?
Each person who joins up is assigned to a group either working on ideas or countries. The type of things we are doing includes direct emailing to specific businesses and industries to raise awareness and asking for help by either putting up the poster, or seeking support to our fund raising efforts.
The Madeleine McCann campaign has chosen not to specifically endorse any particular groups, however our founding member is in direct contact with the Spokesperson for the campaign.

Yes lets start looking, how about under that pile of stones there!
September 3rd, 2007 at 11:57 am
#1 nothing like being the first is there? Goes to the head a bit though. To trawl through thousands of Anorak posts, now THAT takes some time. Get a life!

Thanks Teddy Boy, I consider myself in good company.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:21 pm
Actually it took about 30 seconds because it’s always the same old sad acts trotting out their amateur detective theories for the benefit of other like minded toss pots.
If that’s what passes for good company then you must be one hell of a guy.
Please God they find this child soon so that;
1) The McCanns can get what’s coming to them
and
2) You will all go back to your needlepoint (or whatever challanged people like yourselves do for therapy)
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:27 pm
And you Teddy Boy (such a silly name) can go back to school. Boring these long summer holidays, aren’t they?
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Now Teddy Boy, you very much like attention don’t you? It’s possible that you have a lot to contribute, be it evil or sad. That’s good. Try and use it to your benefit.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:40 pm
Brian won Big Brother, you know !! - infinitely more newsworthy than this.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:42 pm
has anybody thought to look down the well? I remember there was that episode of The Simpsons. Maybe get Sting or Bono to sing a song. That should help. I’m not sure though which well to look down but if we all form local “well groups” and look down nearby wells that might do it.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:43 pm
Jessie, There are many more missing children too.

8….CJ…… WELL DONE, at least someone is doing something positiv, to bring that lovely little girl home!!! xxx
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:53 pm
blah blah blah 8 & 17 but it is not bringing her home is it. only outstanding detective work or an honest kidnapper with a concience is going to get Maddie back. those leads in Malta should have been followed up better, My money is on the yacht and the arab looking guy. she was taken to order …mark my words, sad thing is that she is still missing.
September 3rd, 2007 at 12:57 pm
Moderation and Penster - were there ever two more patronising souls.
You appear on all these forums trotting out the same old nonsense with such an amazing air of self importance.
You remind me of the episode of Red Dwarf where Rimmer becomes some kind of Arran knit Liberal - perhaps you should hit this case hard with a leafleting campaign - oh no I forgot The Borgias beat you to it.
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:04 pm
Teddy the bong water is not for drinking.
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:11 pm
Toni….it may not bring her home, but is sure seems more positiv than the nonsense posted here!!!!!!!
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:12 pm
“teddy boy” & “penster” when finished sucking each other off, if that will ever end… try a little harder and u might just help find maddie…
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:18 pm
#10 Penstar I saw you at some of the other forums. You get around, smile.
The only thing you should include a warning on your advestise to get a life. People need to know not to get too much of one or they end up like the McCanns! Maybe some of the posters who have time for this actually have simplified and successfully nailed down the get a life thing… What might appear boring might be misleading. Check it out. lol Give me a referral? What about a more relaxed atmosphere?
Cj this is last missing one unless one of my own! So many people have been around the world looking for this one, used out the brain cells, left feeling like a LSD trip.
Chopper my thoughts exactly EXCEPT you might want to avoid the ones making this case kind of public notice the houses could have bad feng shui.
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:24 pm
Penstar A lot of restrictions on what people can and can’t do on this site. All the creativity gets lost. Seeing you get around a lot where do people go to let it all hang out?

Teddy Boy,
While acknowledging that this is the first time I’ve ever participated in an online discussion that isn’t either work- or hobby-related and, therefore, my experience is limited, what beats me is that you should waste your precious time writing here. I don’t think it would ever occur to most of us here would waste our time going into a forum in order to tell people they’re wasting theirs. Personally, if something doesn’t interest me, I just ignore it. Most people do.
And, like Penster, I consider myself in good company. When I found these forums by chance while browsing, what made me stay was, in fact, the abundance of well-informed people and the possibility of meaningful conversation. And, taking into account that, as far as I know, none of us actually know the McCanns, the whole subject has so many interesting facets: the detective part, of course, the reactions of the human beings involved in the case, the need to understand a legal system that is completely different to ours (whichever ours may be), etc.
But, Teddy Boy, if none of that interests you, what on earth are you doing here?
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:33 pm
chloe he is here because cartoon network is off line
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:35 pm
Is Molly around ??? what are the portuguese papers saying today, and when are these illusive arrests going to be made ?? talk about build my up buttercup, all we ever do is wait wait wait, dna - arrests - developments - raids - and searches, wait wait wait.
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:38 pm
My God, you people could keep a psychiatrists convention going for weeks. I feel like David Attenborough must when he finds something new - because believe me, the Madeliene junkies on these forums really are a species in their own right.
Truth be told I come on here because I am bored at work and I enjoy the helpless indignation you all display when a ‘rough boy’ comes and says nasty things.
September 3rd, 2007 at 1:39 pm
CJ (8) … What exactly is the point?
The. PJ. have. said. that. they. believe. Madeleine. to. be. DEAD.
A Cadaver dog identified the smell of a dead body in the apartment.
There have been no other reported deaths in that apartment EVER.
****
At best the McCanns are deluding themselves - which I can understand.
But stop deluding yourself and adding to the eventual trauma when the McCanns’ denial comes crashing down on them - by participating in their delusion you are not helping them long term.
