Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Becomes Mum

kate-mccann-mum.thumbnail Madeleine McCann: Kate McCann Becomes MumMADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.

DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE – I CRY EVERY DAY SAYS KATE”

“For the first time she reveals her torment” – Kate gives the papers what they want: tears

Pages 6 and 7: “Madleine’s mum: I can’t stop crying” – Kate McCann is no longer Kate McCann; she is above all things Madeleine’s mum

“Obviously nothing can compare with the night Madeleine went missing,” says mum. And Gerry – dad’s – worst moment? “I think when we were made suspects in our own daughter’s disappearance – when the inference was that Madeleine was dead and that, somehow, we were involved…”

Yes…

“But, no it can’t get any worse than that first night…”

DAILY MAIL page 7: “Some days I just can’t stop the tears, says Maddie’s mother”

“Second police chief quits the case” – Tavares Almeida has followed his boss Goncarlo Amaral and left the business of Madeleine McCann to another lucky Portuguese cop

DAILY MIRROR front page: “KATE McCANN SPEAKS AS NEVER BEFORE..Every day felt like a week”

Page 5: “Being named suspects, the idea that we were involved, was terrible. But NOTHING can compare to the trauma of the first night our Madeleine went missing”

Kate is a “locum GP”. Gerry is a “heart specialist”. These are the facts. And they remain unaltered

The couple give an interview as they visit the offices of the Leicester Mercury newspaper, where they are presented with a cheque for £57,000 from the sales of the Madeleine wristbands

THE SUN front page: “KATE’S MADDIE ORDEAL – NOTHING’S AS BAD AS THAT NIGHT. Mum tells of torment”

Page 6: “I weep for Maddie…but we still have hope”

Says Kate McCann: “I’ve had days when if I wasn’t crying for Madeleine, I was crying from the messages people have sent us”

The McCanns “say their lowest point…was when Portuguese police declared them ‘arguidos’ – formal suspects over their daughter’s disappearance”. So not the night Madeleine disappeared, as the Express says?

Gerry is a “cardiologist”

DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE – Kate: I cry for my daughter every day”

Page 8 and 9: “Finding Maddie had gone was far worse than being named suspect in killing”

THE TIMES page 14: “The twins are the only part of our lives that are normal”

Kate McCann says: “There is a semblance of normality returning. It’s more normal than it was three weeks ago, Amelie and Sean can see that. But really how can it be normal without Madeleine?”

THE INDEPENDENT page 8: “Second officer steps own from Madeleine inquiry” – Tavares Almeida. Bad Times, as Tavares were wont to say

THE GUARDIAN page 15: “Sacked Madeleine detective’s deputy seeks leave” – Senor Tavares. (Heaven Must be Missing An Angel)

DAILY TELEGRAPH front page: “KATE McCANN: THE DAILY TORMENT OF LIFE WITHOUT MADELEINE”

Page 3: “The McCanns have kept Madeleine’s room the same as it was. The twins are allowed in for a few minutes - “Otherwise, the door remains closed most of the time”

Detectives make notes.

  5. 5 brandonflours Says:

    crocodile tears
If they were real she couldnt control them
and funny they are revealed now when everyone has been asking where they have been.

  6. 6 susannah Says:

    brandonflours:
Perhaps she has changed medication and her real emotions are coming out.
    Thespian society anyone.
Can’t believe I just said that.
I am going to rush off to confession, I have become a vile being.

  7. 7 susannah Says:

Someone questioned yesterday whether she should be charged with child neglect at the end of the day.
Many declared that she had suffered enough.
Many responded that they had not seen any signs of suffering.
Well guess what - now you can.
    Right lets drop the charges.
My priest seems to be missing, how can I confess?

  8. 8 man on a hill Says:

Love is the law. In the future courts will be courts of love. Judges, lawyers and jurors will act according to the law of love. There will be only one law and that law will work with no problems. If the McCanns and their associates were with me in the future they would already be in jail now due to their neglect and callousness. Love is not weakness, it is a fist in a cloud. If you disagree then you have never experienced love and you probably never will.
After all the future wars are over i will be waiting for you with a smile on my face.

  9. 9 matty Says:

Richy- thanks for that link. Very interesting reading. Aunty Phil says this, Jon Corner says that, maternal grandfather says the other. As none of them were at the scene they are all passing on information given to them by the Mcs, information they seem to have taken as fact ie broken window blinds that Mark Warner confirmed weren’t broken???????? Interesting reading about the dogs picking up the death smell on one of the Tapas 7 aswell, I can’t remember hearing this anywhere else.

  10. 10 Harry Hind Sight Says:

I knew it, the moment Kate McCann revealed the extent of her grief to the public, it would all be dismissed as a fabrication - though, of course, if she had not done so, the absence of any evidence of grief would continue to be used against her.

Brandon, how to you know they are crocodile tears?

Anyway, I can see there is no point in arguing - will wait and see if charges are brought - now that the head plod has been removed from the case, and his underling are applying for leave of absence, the leaks have stopped, so there is little left to speculate about

Stevo was right when he mentioned this before……….

Diagnostic criteria for 301.81 Narcissistic Personality Disorder

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

    (1) has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

    (2) is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

    (3) believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

    (4) requires excessive admiration

    (5) has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

    (6) is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends

    (7) lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

    (8) is often envious of others or believes that others are envious of him or her

    (9) shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

  13. 13 Harry Hind Sight Says:

11 Brandon, you don’t actually know KM, why such feelings of hatred - it is odd is it not. Do you make a habit of habouring such person feelings about people you do not know

  14. 14 Cassie Says:

    #1 - Richy -
this is explains exactly what I was getting at a couple of days ago. These dogs are “highly trained” BRITISH dogs, who are heroes in Britain for solving cases. They were brought in especially for this case. Yet now that the seem to have found something - it Seems (maybe it is not) - to be swept under the carpet as and labelled as “ludicrous” findings/speculation

  15. 15 brandonflours Says:

    from wikipedia

These traits will lead overly narcissistic parents to be very intrusive in some ways, and entirely neglectful in others. The children are punished if they do not respond adequately to the parents’ needs. This punishment may take a variety of forms, including physical abuse, angry outbursts, blame, attempts to instill guilt, emotional withdrawal, and criticism. Whatever form it takes, the purpose of the punishment is to enforce compliance with the parents’ narcissistic needs[8].

People who are overly narcissistic commonly feel rejected, humiliated and threatened when criticised. To protect themselves from these dangers, they often react with disdain, rage, and/or defiance to any slight, real or imagined [9]. To avoid such situations, some narcissistic people withdraw socially and may feign modesty or humility.

There is a broad spectrum of pathologically narcissistic personalities, styles, and reactions — from the very mild, reactive and transient, to the severe and inflexible narcissistic personality disorder.

Though individuals with NPD are often ambitious and capable, the inability to tolerate setbacks, disagreements or criticism, along with lack of empathy, make it difficult for such individuals to work cooperatively with others or to maintain long-term professional achievements [10]. With narcissistic personality disorder, the person’s perceived fantastic grandiosity, often coupled with a hypomanic mood, is typically not commensurate with his or her real accomplishments.

  16. 16 matty Says:

Brandonflours-how would a marriage work with a narcissistic husband and a narcissistic wife? Would one be more dominant ie Mr Mc? Would they both pander to each others nacissisim or compete? Not that I am implying they are both narcissistic.

  17. 17 brandonflours Says:

    seymour i hate child abusers.

clinical conditions must be similar and its getting quite cold

  20. 20 Cassie Says:

If there is speculation about the findings of the dogs. Take them back home and do a test run on them with “sweaty sandals, dirty nappies, rotting meat etc” and see what the dogs come up with. Let us all know the results so that we can either harop on this whole issue or let it be.

  21. 21 Will Says:

Four pigs were dispossed of last night. No knock on the door in the early hours so think I got away with it! Testing four scenarios.

  22. 22 Harry Hind Sight Says:

Brandon, is this forum really the best therapy for you?
