I agree that it is likely they all were sedating their children. Recently we heard the startling news that the kids were apparently all in one apartment, which lends even more weight to the idea. It also explains the huge media/political support thrown behind the McCanns — it may not be primarilyto save the McCanns’ arses, but Oldfield’s and/or some others.
I also agree that it is likely the girl was fatally injured — quite possibly the drug had made her disoriented or delirious.
Go back to the initial interviews and hear Gerry say that they did feel bad about not being there “at that moment”. An abduction does not take place in a moment, but an accident does. Gerry added “irrespective of whether or not we were in our bedroom” meaning that even in the bedroom they could not have prevented whatever happened, and thus they are not guilty of neglect, but are responsible parents, blah blah blah.
I would think the police have enough evidence to arrest the whole Tapas group for serious child neglect. Then they could add obstruction of justice, fraud, (if it was known girl was dead). Never mind the involuntary murder charge — that could come later.

That is a stupid assumption to make, the McCanns are consultants, they are upper-middle class. I am middle class and believe that they only get such coverage because of their social status. Besides, if the workers say it, it is true, 80% of the world is working class, the proles have the power. The evidence is there, Ben Needham was not found or even had as much effort thrown his way on the part of the police, and I admit it could be a difference of police forces in different countries, but the media coverage and campaigns never existed for that poor kid. Pete, you must see that whatever the verdict, the McCanns are responsible, and they should go down for criminal neglect, and simply for being famous off the back of their dead daughter.

How about:
The Tapas 9 all gave their kids a “helping hand” to make them sleep more soundly at night (something relatively mild like benylin) on many nights, including May 2nd.
On May 2nd, Madeleine woke up in the middle of the night, drowsy from the medication (dosage having not been super-high) and in that half-sleepy state cut herself or fell or did some other major damage. Other people in nearby apts. report hearing her cry for a long while - maybe she was physically hurt.
By the time Kate and Gerry returned, it might have been too late. The other Tapas members agreed to help out since all had been in the habit of dosing their kids to sleep through the night.
If at least one couple was willing to leave an 11 month old alone, I don’t know that a scenario where they all band together to cover their collective behinds is that difficult to believe.
Kate and Gerry seem very good at avoiding taking responsibility for their actions - maybe the others are the same

Gerry & Kate are both sick and both very good at planning. It would be hard to have something to do with an abduction that did not take place. But obviously they snatched the body, and then stashed it.
Gerry looks like he could use a little snatch every now and then, by the way. Hot Lips hasn’t been giving him any . Maybe that will be what finally leads him to rat on his wife.

A lot of you are really making me laugh. You say that mrs Needham was only a young council girl therefore she was not taken seriously like the McCanns as they are well to do people. What a load of bull……. Do you not think that 18 years ago when Ben went missing we did not have the technology like we do now. Yes the McCanns have gone really well and gone all out with the press and so they should. If we all think about it its pretty clear that they are being framed or at least being tried to be framed. I dont think for a second they had anything to do with Madeleine’s abduction - I do however think it was a planned snatch by some sick person. I would very much like to think she is alive but as time goes by i think that is getting leser and leser. there are people out there who knows where Madeleine is (dead or alive) and I just wish that they will let the police know. its one thing to have your child snatched from you but its another to have to live the rest of your life not knowing what happened or if she is infact alive. I hope and pray that the McCanns never give up and keep looking for Madeleine for a long as they can until they know what happened to her or where she is. i dont blame them at all I would do exactly the same thing.

Will, I just have to say, I totally apologize for Shantilly’s behavior. She started out rather smart and funny and it degenerated into downright bizarre behavior. I apologize for my role in that ruckus (which was really very minimal). I have to say, though, next time, everyone should IGNORE it when she gets like that (if she ever comes back). Don’t engage!!

Have just done a search on Newsnow for Mccann and the latest article that is listed is from the Irish Examiner. GM is insisting he is Madeleine’s biological father.
