Kate and Gerry are “horrified and distressed” at the suggestion. The Sun says that both Kate and Gerry are “GPs”.
The allegations are “outrageous” and were made in Portuguese newspaper 24 Horas. The paper says: “The English found the biological father and concluded he had nothing to do with Madeleine’s disappearance.”
And this means: “There is absolutely no chance her paternal profile could be confused with her twin siblings”
Says Clarence Mitchell (not Madeleine’s father): “Due to further unwarranted, unsubstantiated and totally inaccurate speculation in the Portuguese press” Gerry and Kate have authorised me to make the following statement”
A confession? A denial?
“For the record Gerry McCann is the biological father of his daughter Madeleine, a reports suggesting otherwise is nothing short of lies. It is indeed an absolutely untrue fabrication”
Not a true fabrication, eh? And not one the British press would mention, unless it was to show readers how bad those Portuguese are

Like the hair strands found in the McCanns’ car? Yes. And no, Julie is not working on the McCann case

Any other media out that prints the claims will be sued? For what? Presenting the claims as fact or presenting them as news as reported in the Portuguese press, and allowing Gerry McCann space to issue his denial? And first they have to sue Sandra Felgueiras

Hi to all forum users. I have read this forum all week as it has some very interesting links. I am also drawn to the avid searching of news and break throughs and turn the news on as soon as I get up and return home after work in the hope that it will be announced that they have found Madeleine’s body. I gave up on her being alive a few weeks after she dissappeared with no positive sightings or leads. I also felt Muratt had nothing to do with it, that was avid news paper reporters playing super sleuths. And if the parents think the abductor was a paedo why are they so composed? Because the parents have unwittingly or by design made this a super high profile case, believe me - we have one fact -the police will leave no stone unturned.

PS - His wife Ann Morrow is a wonderful writer - her book, “A Gift from the Sea” is an American treasure. Please do read it if you’re looking for a heartwarming novel - it’s something you’ll find by my bedside.

i never named the killer or mastermind behind the limburgh baby kidnapping. my response to the link krissie provided was not about who orchestrated the kidnapping or who killed the lindburgh baby. it was in response to the journos’ statement attributed to the Lindburgh’s allegedlyt blaming the media presence as the reason their child was murdered.

Yep agreed but what if one has a mental breakdown? katiepoos has already reached that stage I believe, which is why she hasn’t been wheeled out in front of cameras lately. You clearly do NOT know anything about this case. There has been widely known information gathered prior to the Lindbergh kidnapping trials that Charles Lindbergh Sr. - as in the pilot himself - orchestrated and staged the kidnappaing in order to gain back his wife’s attentions. He was a very narcissistic gentleman who was quite adept at manipulating the media and at one time, enjoyed popularity in the polls more than any other public figure including FDR did at the time.
The speculation about Lindbergh staging his own child’s kidnapping came about after the baby was found dead. It was presumed an accident as well in the end in that Lindbergh’s plan was foiled when the alleged hired kidnapper fell down the ladder in the process of abducting the baby and dropped the child, killing him immediately as the autopsy results revealed.
Lindbergh did not want his baby killed, just kidnapped the theory goes, and often, would hide his child in the closet from his wife when he would get angry with her for not doting enough attention on him. Afterall, his ego was at maximum capacity at this time having completed the first solo flight around the world. A true American hero with a sketchy past - and a possible link to his own child’s kidnapping and untimely death as an infant.
Many conspiracy theorists, including arm chair sleuthing sites have been discussing this for years. If it’s true, then it’s not too far off from where the McCanns may have strayed…
When my father was a baby, during the same time the Lindbergh’s baby was kidnapped, he was the same age and looked uncannily similar. My grandmother was constant stalked and chased down the street with my father in the baby carriage and women screaming “I found the Lindbergh baby!! He’s in the baby pram right here!!” And they would grab a cop and come running. This happened so often that they police knew my grandmother and my Dad and immediately would scoff off the opportunists looking to cash in on the reward money - which if you recall, this was during the depression in 1930’s so people were desperate for easy money to be found. They’d stoop to anything.
Thank goodness the police were smart enough to see thru these people as they would have loved to take my Father from my Grandmother - only to pass him off as the Lindbergh baby….who knows, maybe he could have grown up as Charles Lindbergh jr. and I would have inherited all that delicious moolah
