Madeleine McCann: Fat Portuguese Wives To Blame For Kate McCann
PAULO Reis writes on Madeleine McCann:
According to Bel Mooney, from the Daily Mail, “Portuguese police suspected” of Kate McCann, since the beginning, because “their wives were telling them she looked too controlled, did not weep enough.”
The “cultural difference” between Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece, where “young mothers quickly come to look like overblown roses, their child-bearing settling comfortably around their hips” explains why “it’s hard not to imagine Portuguese women murmuring to their husbands that this British woman is - yes - much too skinny.”
So, the wives of Portuguese detectives “would be instinctively prejudiced against Kate for not looking like them, as well as because her self-control was alien to a culture which traditionally hangs its emotions out like washing on lines”, writes Bel Mooney.
And a question that makes sense, for the Daily Mail columnist, is if the “Portuguese attitude insidiously affect the views of the wider world, tapping into innate expectation of how mothers are ’supposed’ to be…”

Some of the most beautiful ladies in the world are Portugese. Some are outwardly attractive too!
Bel Mooney you are a dork!
Appreciate your work Paulo. Your doing good.

I don’t know why my comments on Daily Mail never get posted!
In my opinion all the the british press is doing is promote hate and xenophobia!
All the comments from the called “experts” aren’t based in facts… I think they might know a little more about Portugal before opening their dirty mouths. What a parasites!
By the way, worths reading:

Ahh, the silly article I hoped to never see again. (No reflection on Anorak)

That’s right, we have a plethora of fad diets to keep us yummy! And if those don’t work, cocaine (plastic surgery anyone? Dr.SW1/90210?) !

Silly Portuguese and their overblown roses! Certainly not English ones! They can’t even distribute their weight in a civilized manner (re: ‘comfortably around their hips’) how on Earth are we supposed to think they can do proper police work!

Ahh, and now there is a picture. Anorak, does that girl in question have child-bearing hips? Let’s prove our points here…go investigate! (actually, I’m sure a few guys would sign up to..)

Well… at least the Portuguese men are an atraction for the British women.
You can find them by the dozen in the Algarve beaches, bars and corners trying to catch the attention of every man that passes by!

Good Evening from New Zealand,
A bit comotosed here but feel like getting something down. I have a few thoughts swirling around let’s both find out what they are ,…………ok.
I can’t see the priest saying that off his own bat. If he did the Pope and the Papal advisors were behind it. That is pretty damning.
He from all accounts was very troubled about the whole affair but I don’t think that would cause him to imply the McCanns lied in confession. That edict would have come from above. Maybe that is why he seemed troubled. He had just been ordered to break an oath by none other than the main man. By uttering that statement he effectively sold himself. He was the sacrifice to put right the mistake the Vatican made by getting sucked into the spin. He is a lost soul.
The fact that all the material disappeared off the Vatican website was also a major slight to the McCanns. Not long after the priest got recalled if I remember correctly.
But what made him say he was ‘deceived’.
If they confessed to him and didn’t really do it, he was deceived.
If they said they were innocent but did do it, he was deceived.
So what evidence came to light that made the priest sure that they did or did not do it?
Maybe the real killer confessed to him as well so he knows the McCanns are innocent. Their confession being false.
OR
Maybe it was proved to the priest early on in the piece that there is very little doubt of their guilt. About the time the Vatican website shut down.
Or maybe he was deceived by thinking they were devout churchgoers when in fact the religeous angle was another spin. A move guaranteed to get the moral majority on side.
Or maybe he was pissed off they didn’t hand back the keys and he was locked out all night.
I think his statement (if indeed he made it, lol) will get a few people off the fence.
Back to my bong. And a Woody 8%.

How can i sue the british press?
October 18th, 2007 at 6:48 am
morning, 10th ??
October 18th, 2007 at 6:49 am
Ade,
Speak to me dammit.
October 18th, 2007 at 6:49 am
yeah, PT, you’re right!
The Portuguese ppl should sue the British press…
What you read in the portuguese press might be attacking the McCanns integrity, but the British is attacking all the Portuguese integrity!
I don’t know how come they didn’t retaliate… But i’m sure they’ll get the last laugh!
Whats a shame…
October 18th, 2007 at 6:49 am
so, if the porro police dont know what to do they just ask their wives / mothers, very proffesional
October 18th, 2007 at 6:56 am
By the way, this case is not showing that often in the portuguese press, only in the 24Horas newspaper!
Just the everyday soap opera in the British press!
What they’r going post when they get true story of what the McCanns did?
October 18th, 2007 at 7:09 am
Just read back. Ade seems a bit worried. Anyone else emailed that O’Brian character.
Sounded quite heavy and I seem to remember Ade as a reasonable poster.
The mind boggles.
The blog murders…….one by one they were taken out……..collateral damage…..just to protect…….a charge of negligence being brought to a county court.
Maybe the mods have been disposed of and the task of hunting us all down via our emails and personal references on our postings has begun.
Hang on someone at the door…………….arrrrrrghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

What is the British press on? I thought better of the times.

Paulo,
Last night on the previous forum, a very regular poster by the name of Ade had a horrific experience.
He said he tried to e-mail O Brien.
He went on to say this was really scary.
He said it is sick and evil.
He posted a few times how really scared he was.
Assuming it was really Ade, and not someone posing, I am extremely concerned.
No one else seemed to think anything of it.
The post numbers are : 869/940/959/985/1028.
One of the posts : ” Batman, I am dead serious. I have come close to evil today and I am scared shitless. These people cannot be trusted. Try sending a message to O’Brien and see what happens”.

I checked those posts susannah, what do you think he meant by it all,
October 18th, 2007 at 7:59 am
Morning All,
It does seem strange regarding Ade, he usually posts sensible posts. I just hope on this occasion it was someone posting as him. It seems to have happened a lot on tyesterdays thread. If it was him, then lets just hope he comes on today and can explain further.
October 18th, 2007 at 8:02 am
where is mods and admin, surely she can say via the registered email addy if it was indeed him or not.
O’Briens refusal to comment on the events of that evening, point the finger back at him / them. as the saying goes, when you point a finger at someone, 3 other fingers are pointing back at you

Mods and Admin,
Please let us know if that was Ade posting last night.
October 18th, 2007 at 8:26 am
In response to the alleged cultural, and emotional response differences between Kate McCann and “fat” Portuguese mothers, that is a load of eye-wash. I am not Portuguese, or any other kind of continental, but if my four year old baby had disappeared without a clue, I think I would be showing a lot more emotion than what Kate McCann has done throughout this saga. her face has been as immovable as if fixed in stone, we are told she cries every night but she would have evoked a lot more sympathy from the World at large if she had broken down just once, in public, like a normal mother.
The only time I have seen her crumple a little bit was in response to accusations against herself, in other words, self-pity !!

OK, I tried emailing the address (from a yahoo account that I rarely use, you know, just to say “hi Russell!”) and it gave me an error message for a “malformed email address.”
Methinks something is rotten (or perhaps it’s just dirty nappies) in the state of Denmark.
Ade is usually a very satirical poster - I quite like his style - and the posts referred to don’t sound like him at all.
Someone may be stirring the excrement. (Which can happen when there is rotting meat and dirty nappies around.)

I also tried to send it from a seldom used address and also received mail returned.
The thing is I do think it was him.
I know he is always on about the drainage etc, but he did say that it was real and he was scared.
I don’t want to dismiss the possibility that it was real fear.
What can we do?
October 18th, 2007 at 8:37 am
oh no, first Madeliene, then steve fossett and now Ade, must we start a fighting fund ?

You ask, ‘what can we do?’.
The answer at the moment is nothing. Hopefully Mods & Admin can confirm whether it was likely that it was ADE posting yesterday. Then we wait to see if he posts today. No need for dramas at this stage.
