Madeleine McCann: A Big Secret, Jane Tanner’s Friend And Moroccan Paedos

madeleine-mccann-kate-cries.thumbnail Madeleine McCann: A Big Secret, Jane Tanners Friend And Moroccan Paedos MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann

SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: MY VERDICT, BY FORMER DEPUTY CHIEF CONSTABLE JOHN STALKER”

“McCANNS ARE HIDING A BIG SECRET”

These are “THE MADELEINE FILES”

Stalker takes time out from advertising burglar alarms on telly to tell us: “I have watched the investigation into the Madeleine McCann case drag out for six months. One thing above all worries me: Why have the McCanns and the seven other members of their group – the Tapas Nine – remained so silent?”
Is he saying..?

“I don’t believe for one minute that Kate and Gerry McCann or their friends are capable or guilty of having murdered the four-year-old. My gut instinct is that some big secret is probably being covered up”

A retired copper’s copper’s instinct is now front-page news. Such is weight of evidence
So who dunnit?

MAIL ON SUNDAY: “McCanns face agonising wait to clear their names”
Kate and Gerry CMCann could be made to wait up to a year to see details of the Portuguese police case against them

Carlos Anjos, chairman of the Union of Portuguese Detectives, says of the drawing released by the McCanns of the man seen by their friend Jane Tanner: “It’s a simple cartoon that anyone could come up with. It’s no e-fit nor does it have anyone’s approval. This simply does not exist.”

SUNDAY MIRROR: “I SAW HIM TAKE HER”

“Jane Tanner is haunted by the image of a man ‘striding urgently’ away from the McCanns’ apartment with a barefooted child slumped in his arms”

She tells a friend: “I never in a million years would have imagined that it was Maddie being carried away. The first thing that raced into my head after finding out she was missing was this person I’d seen”

Says Jane Tanner’s unnamed friend: “It was about 9.15pm when Jane saw the man. She said that although he looked a bit odd and the child he was carrying had bare feet on a cold night, she never in a million years thought it could have been Maddie. You see a lot of people taking children to and from a nearby creche around there…

“Suddenly this man scoots across in front of her with the child, which she thinks is a bit strange because the child was in pyjamas and had no shoes or socks on. He wasn’t running, he wasn’t walking, but he was striding. It was like an urgent walk”

Then, says Jane Tanner’s unnamed friend:

“Jane finished her meal and went up to the apartment straight away to see her daughter. Around 10 or 15 minutes later, Kate discovered that Madeleine was gone.
“Jane heard shouting outside…The first thing that came into Jane’s head was this person she’d seen. She felt complete horror. Kate was screaming ‘She’s gone, she’s gone’ and there was a huge panic”

What Kate was screaming…

NEWS OF THE WORLD: “MADDIE SNATCHED TO ORDER – Detectives claim it was paedo plot”

“Today we sensationally reveal the renowned Spanish Metodo 3 detective agency—hired by parents Kate and Gerry—believe the four-year-old was targeted after a tip-off from INSIDE their Portuguese holiday complex”

Paedos!

“Distraught Kate and Gerry McCann are coming to terms with the sickening thought that missing daughter Maddie is in the hands of a gang of Moroccan paedophiles.” Madeleine was “spirited away to feed North Africa’s sick child sex industry”
The paper “has also discovered the private investigators now believe the kidnapper:

  * POUNCED after being TIPPED OFF by an insider at the resort that a young blonde Western girl was there,
* SPIED on the family for days plotting their movements and waiting for the right moment,
* SNATCHED Maddie in a tight eight-minute window of opportunity,
* PASSED her to a paedophile network in Morocco where she has been sold on to other pervert gangs”

Metodo 3 managing director Francisco Marco, says: “I’m certain Madeleine was kidnapped. And I’m also sure her parents had nothing to do with her disappearance. My own view is the most likely place to find her is Morocco. We’re working very hard on all information indicating that. But I stress that we are following up EVERYTHING”
When you are being paid, it’s best to be professional and check and recheck every fact; best not to investigate your employees

DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE – Cops fit panic buttons in the McCanns’ home”

A picture of Gerry McCann on first glance throwing a child onto a skip; on second look, pushing a child on a swing

MADDIE: THE DEATH THREATS - “Heart specialist Gerry” and “GP Kate” have an a alarm fitted

Gerry is returning to work on Thursday and Kate “will be alone in the house with two-year old twins Sean and Amelie”. Or else with her parents, sister and media team, while paparazzi and hacks stand around the front and back of the house

SUNDAY PEOPLE: “COPS KEEP FILES FROM McCANNS”

“Agonisingly for the couple, it could be 15 YEARS before the prosecution case is ‘archived’”

SUNDAY TIMES: “McCann friend is certain she saw abduction”

Jane Tanner sees. “When she was formally interviewed by police at 3am that night, Tanner realised that the pyjamas on the child she had seen were an exact match with Madeleine’s”

SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY: “Crying shame to see McCanns judged with poison not pity”

“So, at last, she wept. But the tears of a bereft mother did not impress the hard-hearted and nasty-minded, who had already condemned Kate McCann and her husband Gerry. For them, her breakdown on TV last week was too little, too late - and was it stage-managed?”

OBSERVER: “It is not only the Madeleine McCann case that highlights the perils of exotic holidays”

“The case of ‘Marco’ is as big in Germany as ‘Madeleine’ is here. Yet we hear virtually nothing of it, even though the key to this mystery lies in Britain

“Marco Weiss, 17, has languished without trial since April in a Turkish prison cell crammed with 30 inmates after allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old English girl, ‘Charlotte M’. And while his case will hardly tug at British heartstrings like the missing English child has, it shows how criminal cases can provoke international fissure”

Just watched video where they were asked ‘who saw Madeleine last?’. Gerry finally answered. But after having read about the hand squeezing ploy in the latest interview I’m sure you could determine the same after this question. The was a definate movement of the clasped hands. I think she forgot her lines there and good ol’Gerry stepped in.

    Question
Mobile phone records are held by international phone companies, not British companies, so why can’t the pj apply directly for them? Do data protection laws require the ok of the British authorities for the release of data?

Very disappointing about the non-release of mobile phone records. It contradicts early reporting that the experts who helped solve the Soham murder case had gone out to Portugal and claims that mobile phone evidence led to the searches in Wilderness reseevoir (Brauverra -which were denied in the portuges press) and the trip to Huelva.

Will be very interesting to read the Annual Report of this Business.

A source close to the private detective agency in Barcelona which is running the hotline, said: “We are giving special importance to three calls we received about a girl resembling Madeleine in Morocco”.

NOTE TO ALL MOROCCAN FOREIGNERS: Can the parents of Bouchra Binhisa, and all the other blonde-haired girls in Morocco, please keep them indoors! You are hampering a serious investigation by an expensive crack team of private investigators!!! We will not hesitate to sue you if you get in the way, and have your children taken away from you.

  18. Ferdinand Says:

    11 AgendaWide:

How are the british data protection laws anyway? Wouldn’t it be necessary that some specific allegation had to be made in order to seize private data such as a list of all your phone calls? I. e. the formal arguido status (with no specific allegation so far) could hardly be sufficiant?

Just looked open-mouthed at the picture in the Daily Star: it looks exactly like you described it. I had to wipe tears from my face (from laughing), because the whole story is so absurd.

And I want to say thank you for all the wonderful articles. I’m glad I found anorak on the internet - makes one feel less alone in this strange world.

  23. Yankee Interloper Says:

For those of you wishing to contact him, Michael Moore’s official email address can be found here:

    http://www.michaelmoore.com/email/index.php

It is widely believed by Americans that he personally reads all of the emails he receives at this address, and even if he does not I am sure his assistants would not fail to mention the surprising occurrence of dozens of British people suddenly emailing him about this topic. I would be very interested to see what he would do.

Please keep in mind, however, that he may not help you, because it is somewhat hard for us Yanks to get a grip on exactly what is troubling you Brits in this case. I’m not sure how to break this to you, but YOU, the British People collectively, are the “Mr. Big”, the “secret cabal”, the “elite”, that the press is bowing to the will of when they write their ridiculous stories portraying the McCanns as absolutely innocent, no matter how impossible that would be if the leaked evidence were true. Sure, you few posters here on Anorak mostly believe the McCanns are at least guilty of disposing of the body of a child, but the vast majority of tabloid readers, for whatever reason, don’t believe that. They go by their gut, and their gut tells them the rich and photogenic McCanns could never do such a horrible thing, despite the damning forensics we are given to believe exist.

Here in the States we are very familiar with the press feeding us whatever the majority of people would like to hear, rather than the actual facts. It is an incredibly successful strategy for selling newspapers and other media. Because of this, it’s hard for us to understand the outrage you feel that your tabloids are deliberately printing contradictory stories, sometimes within the same issue, and always with the goal of smearing police officers and protecting the main suspects in a crime, while simultaneously providing sensational accounts of what exactly the suspects have been accused of by the untrustworthy foreign investigators. Of course that’s what tabloids do. If you want to know the actual facts, you have to ask someone like Mr. Moore to go find out for you, or else wait until the trial which will hopefully be televised.

In the end, though, it is very important that you not let people conflate the ideas of judicial due process and public commentary in your minds. Due process demands that at the start of a trial the judge and jury, if there is one, start fresh, without any bias, and take in only the factual evidence presented by the proper authorities.

However, the public at large has a greater duty, which is to watch all this unfold and assess, through public debate, whether or not due process is happening as it should. You can no longer leave this duty to your hereditary lords and royalty; you must take it upon yourselves to watch those in authority with a keen and critical eye, and call them on any bias or unfairness.

So far though, as no one has actually been charged and the police have not released any official statements on the evidence, it’s frustratingly impossible to tell whether or not due process is likely to occur anytime soon. It’s a noble idea to try to figure it out, but the tabloids and pop TV shows have no more idea than the average blogger as to what the facts really are, so all we can do is say, well, IF these facts were true, THEN that would mean this-and-such. We can’t say for sure, because all we have is speculation and “leaks”, which are apparently quite often made up out of whole cloth.

Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for trying to figure it out though; it’s not just your right but your duty to vigilantly watch over the judicial process and make sure facts are not being ignored due to favoritism. I for one would be very suspicious of anyone who told me to stop asking questions about their involvement in a crime because it was “hurtful” to their feelings. I would reply, “Well, do you want to live in a free country or not?” The price of freedom is constant vigilance, often in the form of painful questions. If you can come up with a better answer than, “I took the stuffed toy to work and it came in contact with a cadaver there,” or, “Dogs are stupid, who cares what they think,” then you’ll have nothing to fear.

  24. Sammy J Says:

that Jane Tanner gets more certain as the Mccanns get more desperate!

  25. carmen Says:

Had a sudden vision - of thousands of Morroccan families making with the hair bleach - maybe their fortunes will change, maybe they will be chosen. Could get very confusing.

  26. john Says:

So Madeleine is in the hands of a paedo gang that lets an old lady take the girl out for a walk so that British tourists can get a tantalising glimpse - and they always vanish before the spotter can do anything about it.

  27. David Says:

Any snatch would have needed inside help with details - how long the parents were staying, what reservations had been made, someone to confirm that the party had assembled in the tapas bar, those sort of things. But also the people involved would most likely be grim, not great logicians poring over details and executing a slick, machinelike take. If you allow then for stupidity and a coarse approach, several of the logical objections to the McCann abduction thesis melt away. The major one is timing - why wait night after night when you have a pattern and can see that the moment to take is after the group assemble but before checks on apartments commence? Why introduce risk by taking at the last moment, unless that risk is mitigated by knowing that a table is booked in the tapas bar and the routine will apply again? Did the late arriving party members throw a spanner into the plan, forcing a take later than intended, requiring great risk inside the apartment because checks would be starting, but this risk demanded because overall the opportunity was slipping away? It’s not ridiculous. Especially if there was an imperative requiring delay. That something was waited on - say, a boat. Throw in a binding theory to explain the obscurely unforthcoming attitude of the parents and their friends - illicit sex would do - and you’re left with the forensics. Now, all collapses if these are definite, but any question of mistake or interpretation at this end of the chain, and it would be unreasonable to dismiss the abduction claim outright. But - as usual - one perspective can be exchanged for another and different conclusions drawn. It would be very helpful if the parents and their friends decided on open answers at this point.

  28. carmen Says:

    Yankee Interloper
Sorry, but the only ’secret cabal’ that the press are ‘bending their will’ towards is the massed ranking of lawyers.
The public may denote the stories that are of interest, but it is the lawyers who denote the slant those stories take.

  29. Sammy J Says:

    yankee interloper

    thanks for the link.
I think most people who read the papers here know what to believe and what to dismiss as sensationalism, but you’re right - there is an element of society who falls for the made up stories.
Then you get people like me who don’t believe any of it. I am of the firm opinion that everything is vetted by those in power before printing. We know what we are allowed to know.
How’s that for paranoid on a Sunday morning?

  30. bluegit Says:

So much tosh in the papers today, where to start?

First Stevens and now Stalker. Do they become police officers just so they can cash in later on?

Just bought “The Orange Box”, off to play with that.
