Madeleine McCann: An Accident, Susan Healy’s ‘Twisted’ Words And Metodo 3

madeleine.thumbnail Madeleine McCann: An Accident, Susan Healys Twisted Words And Metodo 3 MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann

DAILY EXPRESS: “front page: “MADELEINE: THREE NEW SIGHTINGS IN MOROCCO”

The McCanns private detectives are taking calls on the new “hotline”. Each caller says the “blonde, blue-eyed” Madeleine is with a 60-year-old “middle-Class” woman

Pages 4 and 5: “Clues lead to Morocco” – The Metodo 3 private detective agency is working on the theory Madeleine was kidnapped to order and smuggled to North Africa. Cross your fingers and start the expense account rolling, they’re going in

“New bungles of the Portuguese police”: Portuguese officers driving Robert Murat’s impounded camper van crashed it; British detectives are “horrified” Portuguese police failed to routinely quarantine vehicles

Hamish Brown, a former Scotland Yard detective, says: “It defies the rules of investigation.” (Get Mr Brown an agent)

DAILY MAIL front page: “Outrage over claims that Kate’s suicidal”

Page 7: “I just don’t know how long Kate will hold on for…What mother would not go insane if they lost a child?”

Susan Healy, Kate McCann’s mother, tells Portuguese magazine 24 Horas: “I don’t know if any human being can take such pressure”

Says the magazine’s headline: “Kate’s mother fears she will kill herself”

Says Clarence Mitchell: “It is beyond offensive to suggest Kate is suicidal. She is not.” Says the Mail: “Mrs McCann is a GP”

She has weekly counselling sessions. The Mail recalls other relatives saying how Kate is never left alone. A “friend” says Mrs Healy’s words have been “twisted”: “It’s ludicrous and yet another horrible slur”. The Mail says Kate McCann has “dark moments”

“POLICE CRASHED SUSPECT’S VAN” – Robert Murat vehicle is damaged. Policia Judiciaria inspectors drove the McCanns’ Renault Scenic to the pound rather than took it to headquarters on a trailer

THE STAR front page: “MADDIE: RICH ARAB FAMILY HAS HER”

Pages 4 and 5: “Callers tell phoneline they spotted blonde girl with mystery woman – ARABS NAB MADDIE”

Arabs? Oh… Can we invade?

Says a source “close” to the McCanns: “Obviously talk of Madeleine being bartered around by evil people is extremely upsetting for them. But for the first time a credible theory of what happened is being worked by one of Europe’s leading investigation agencies”

Forget the Portuguese police, Interpol and the British police. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire… Metodo 3 are on the case. (Invoice in the post)

THE SUN page 11: “KATE’S HURTING BUT SHE IS NOT SUICIDAL – Maddie gran’s fury”

Susan Healy says Kate McCann will not kill herself because: “One, she still wants to find Madeleine and two, for the sake of the other children, Sean and Amelie”

“DNA BUNGLE COPS CRASH MURAT VAN” – Says Hamish Brown: “It’s positively wrong”

DAILY MIRROR page 11: “COPS CONTAMINATE CAR..BY DRIVING IT..and then they crash Murat van”

The paper produces a list of “BLUNDERS”:

Not sealing of the McCanns’ holiday flat
Not making early house-to-house enquiries
No fingertip search of resort
Early e-fit had no face
Not releasing details of what Madeleine was wearing
Being Portuguese (not stated)

THE TIMES page 14: “Madeleine in Morocco, says headline caller”.

The Times reproduces the sketch of a man seen by Jane Tanner carrying a child near the McCanns’ apartment. Like that Portuguese police’s “bungled” efit, there is no face

If you see this man call 0034-902 300213

DAILY TELEGRAPH page 10: “McCann team targets Morocco”

Three calls to the Private detectives. “One from a Spaniard, the other two from British people,” says the source.

More progress reports to follow…

  13. 13 man on a hill Says:

I’d just like to remind everybody about Richturd Prancin falling down that building using his arse for a brake. One of life’s better moments i think.

  14. 14 Shield of Truth Says:

Bit of a shame that the blackmailed royal wasn’t Harry, Will or Zara - then the Express, Star and others may have had something a bit more interesting to lead o. Having said that, if Metodo 3 are that great why can’t we hand over the Diana case to them…and let the find Iran’s WMD???

  15. 15 jay Says:

Why would ‘they’ sell her to someone else when the McCanns have over £1,000,000 at their disposal, and a free poster.

  16. 16 Rab Says:

Are “bungle cops” policemen who dress like Bungle from Rainbow, or policemen who protect Bungle from Rainbow?

This “parallel” investigation the McCanns are running appears almost certainly to be an attempt to a) discredit the PJ and b) to blur the lines between the real investigation and their investigation in order to create the perception that the abduction theory is valid.

  17. 17 soothsayer Says:

howdy will.tell me what colour of eyes does Madeleine have (does because we always live in hope),they were not blue the last time i saw a photograph.

  18. 18 m.e. Says:

So lets get this straight…shes been taken to order by a paedophile gang who just happen to be led by a 60yo middle class woman…Errrr..ok…..

    17 soothsayer

Its official - my wife says Maddy has ‘greeny eyes’.

  20. 20 man on a hill Says:

Why has it always got to be the arabs? Because britain is a country of racist’s that just can’t except their place in the world.

  21. 21 Elmer Gantry Says:

What a friend we have in Jesus altogether now what a friend we have in Jesus bringing home the sheep, repent sinners! repent sinners! the day of Jehovah is upon us belzabub is abroad repent! repent!

    Mods and Admin

Elmer ,sweetie , its Monday! You just work Sundays

  22. 22 Shield of Truth Says:

20 - it’s always arabs because the majority of white middle class aspirationalists could not believe that anyone of their grouping could possibly be involved in whatever misfortune has befallen Maddie. What better to fit their anti-immigration all foreigners are terrorists and there’ll always be an engerlund agenda than have a group of african/arab paedos roaming the beaches of the med looking for young blonde white english kids.

  23. 23 Andy Says:

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2007/10/29/oh-up-yours-senor-89520-20024112/

Portugal’s ambassador to Britain, Senor Antonio Santana Carlos, says that the Madeleine McCann case has seriously damaged relations between the two countries. Well, whose fault is that?

It is the fault of the spectacularly stupid, cruel Portuguese police. I have never much cared for the convention of calling cops “pigs” or “filth”, but I am happy to make an exception.

They have tried to cover their humiliation at coming nowhere close to finding that stolen child by fitting up her parents.

The decline in relations is also the fault of the appalling Portuguese media, happy to print any piece of poisonous trash spoon-fed to them by “police sources” treating the abduction of a small child as light entertainment.

And the Portuguese public must also take their share of the blame. The sight of locals jeering at Kate McCann as she went in for questioning made me feel as though these leering bumpkins were not from another country, but another planet.

And the good ambassador can also be blamed for the decline in relations.

When he should be exercising a little diplomacy, he huffs and he puffs about the McCanns’ tragic decision to leave their children sleeping alone on the night Madeleine was stolen.

“In Portugal we have the concept of a nuclear family,” sniffs Senor Carlos. “That the families all live together.”

They made a mistake, ambassador. Their lives have been wrecked. That is punishment enough, without your asinine, unwanted comments.

And I would respectfully suggest that in future, if you can’t say something constructive about the disappearance of little Madeleine, then you just keep your stupid, sardine-munching mouth shut.

  24. 24 Andy Says:

    This is disgusting.

  25. 25 Chloe Spain Says:

    (23) Andy

I was just going to read today, not write anything, but I really have to agree with you. Is it legal to write this kind of thing in England? You’re in Spain, aren’t you? Can you imagine the outcry there’d be if any Spanish newspaper published that?

  26. 26 man on a hill Says:

    23 Andy
    yes, it is.

  27. 27 Rationalist Says:

Blue-eyed blond? Blue?! Hope the fund isn’t paying for this effort!

  28. 28 Ade Says:

    23 andy
Agreed - what a load of tosh.
This could help nail the bastards though… The more the gutter press annoys the PJ and the Portuguese people the more stroppy they will get and the less likely for Gordie Broon to fix a deal. Dig their own xenophobic graves…

  29. 29 an observer Says:

From what I can gatherer on the web the following represents the evening child minding situation leading up to the fateful night of May 3rd.

The first couple of nights the adults and children go out to dinner at a restaurant but it doesn’t work too well. The kids get tired and fractious and no doubt annoy other diners making the Mc group uncomfortable. All the kids are no doubt tired and in a bad mood the next day. Not much fun for anyone.

On the third night onwards the group pulls off a special arrangement to get a dining table in the Tapas bar. This enables them to leave the children in the units rather than have the kids up late with them when they are out. Quite a coup since other diners had to queue to be seated. It is as close as they can get to their units even if line of sight is not the best. Descriptions of distances from the Tapas bar to the Mc’s apartment vary. There is much debate about this. It’s not too far away so they can pop back easily to check up for each other every now and again.

According to GM’s entry in “Friends Reunited” Maddie has a great pair of lungs.

There were some initial reports of crying coming from the Mc’s unit. The reports variously cover one or more days. It appears one of the neighbor(s) who originally made comments about the crying “for daddy” till late has since retracted their statements. IMHO, possibly retracted because they are now feeling guilty they didn’t try to intervene given subsequent events. (Some threads on the newspapers web pages about crying seem to have “gone away”).

A waiter who was interviewed by the press indicated the Mc’s group was well behaved and that one of the men was always getting up and going off to check the kids. He claimed the checks were frequent.

If the “since retracted” reports of crying are to be believed then some questions need to be asked about what the people checking up did to comfort the crying children, read Maddie. It appears the crying went on till quite late on least one occasion according to one of the earlier reports. You might ask yourself if the check ups were actually occurring or was the waiter mistaken. If a child was crying wouldn’t you do something about it if you knew?

If there was crying coming from the Mc’s unit before the 3rd May it tends to indicate that Madeleine had not been sedated, or if so, the dose has not been sufficient to “help her sleep”.

    Can anyone confirm this assessment?

  30. 30 Ade Says:

Come to thin of it when it comes to McConnLand it’s always everyone else’s fault - arabs, europeans, paedos, foreign police…
    It’s never the McConns’ fault…
