Madeleine McCann: Mafia, A Bag Of Clothes And Missing Children
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
NEWS OF THE WORLD: “Maddie DNA clue in airport bag”
A bag of clothes containing “DNA linked to Madeleine McCann” has been found dumped by a road in Portugal.” It is a white carrier bag. It was in a layby two weeks ago near Faro airport.
“The bag contained a blue fleece jacket and a pair of adult jeans with traces of DNA that contained ‘moderate’ links to Madeleine”. And: “There was also a SHOWER CURTAIN inside.” And a white flannel, a green elastic band, a light green child’s T-shirt with a green flower on the front and a pink and blue pencil case with a pink heart motif
“Godfather in Madeleine hunt… Crime godfathers in Morocco—where there have been several alleged sightings of Maddie - have been told cops will scale back drug busts if they do”
SUNDAY MIRROR front page: “MY LITTLE MADDY” - a picture of Madeleine McCann on a pony with Kate McCann by her side
• “McCanns heartache as Cops say: “Case closes in 7 weeks
• Police to leave cloud of suspicion over Kate and Gerry”
SUNDAY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE MYSTERY – McCANN FRIENDS TO BE NAMED AS SUSPECTS”
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl”
So will they be named as suspects or not? The Express say yes and then prevaricates
DAILY STAR ON SUNDAY front page: “MADDIE SIX MONTHS ON – 15 NEW CLUES”
That picture of Madeleine McCann on a horse. A clue?
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “ANSWER OUR PRAYERS - ON THE SIX-MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF LOSING MADDIE Kate weeps at church service for Maddie as parents suffer crushing blow”
“The devout couple first took two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie for ‘a few moments of solitude’ at their village church to remember missing Maddie”
A solitude watched by person who told the press? No need with Clarence Mitchell to fill in the gaps, Says he: “Kate and Gerry wanted a few moments of solitude praying for Madeleine with the twins”
Inside the church: “A collage of pictures of a happy Maddie - including the one…of her sitting on a black Shetland pony - took pride of place near the altar. Six snaps of the youngster next to smiling faces of other missing children were pinned onto a green notice board. Supporters were encouraged to look at the pictures before praying”
And they pray for…
The People looks at “respected” Portuguese daily Publico, which tells: “Six months on from Madeleine’s disappearance, the police theory remains the same. That the child died by accident in her room - and her parents committed the crime of hiding her body”
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s parents hold prayer vigil six months to the minute after she disappeared”
There are about 200 people at the “700-year-old church” near Rothley, Leicestershire
The McCanns are suspects
“Other missing children - including British toddler Ben Needham, who disappeared while on holiday in Greece in 1991, were also remembered at the service”
Did Ben Needham’s family ask for this? Want it?
Says the Rev Rob Gladstone: “Comfort and liberate all those, especially young children who have been taken from their families against their will, give courage to their grieving families”
A board says “Pray for all missing children.” How were the faces on the board selected? Many children are missing
THE INDEPENDENT: “Six months after Madeleine, another 600 are still missing”
Missing persons charities yesterday released figures “showing that more than 600 children have been missing in the UK for as long as Madeleine McCann, and are still unaccounted for”
Many are foreign. Many are teenagers. Not all are blonde
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Prayers for Madeleine McCann, six months on”
“The 3,500-strong population of Rothley - its trees decked in yellow ribbons and messages of support - came to a near standstill as Kate and Gerry arrived from their nearby home”
Locals can’t move for the press?
Rothley is an “affluent Midlands enclave”. This is McCann Land – the enclave - a small territory culturally and ethnically different form the surrounding lands
Says Gerry in his blog: “We have no idea whether she is suffering, but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”
THE GUARDIAN: “Madeleine book notes the ‘contradictions’”
More on Maddie 129, a book by Hernani Carvalho and Luis Maia
“The message is that the case just doesn’t add up,” says a representative of the book’s publishers
THE SCOTSMAN: “Six months on, McCanns in new Maddie plea”
The picture of Madeleine on a Shetland pony was taken on a day out at the Hatton Country World park in Warwickshire on April 13 – “less than three weeks before she went missing”
THE TIMES: “Gerry McCann: ‘our princess prayer for Madeleine’”
Gerry McCann’s blog: “It is so painful for us simply being separated, but all the more distressing when we have to speculate about the situation Madeleine finds herself [in]. We have no idea whether she is suffering but we have to hope and pray that she is being treated like a princess, as she deserves”

What a strange statement this is…

If there ‘could’ be DNA of M in that bag, is this shower curtain from the appartment? They must be able to check that out quite quickly. If so, I can’t remember that it is ever said that the shower curtain was missing. If that would have been the case and a new one was bought, the police should also have thought about that possibility in their investigation back in May. Another thing they might have overlooked?

Nice to see 12 missing children on the McConn’s board (see photo above).
Only 12 then…
Hang on I recognise FIVE hackneyed maddiepics there!
So that makes only seven others.
Well that’s all right then - all is well in the world

Moin!
So finally we have now the outstanding article that sources to the portugese police admit that there is NO new evidence. Think of it whatever you like:
http://www.sundaymirror.co.uk/news/sunday/2007/11/04/over-by-christmas-98487-20058899/
“We can also reveal that DNA evidence police hoped to use against the McCanns in court is flawed - and does NOT put Gerry and Kate in the frame.
The source said: “There is quite simply no evidence strong enough to use against the McCanns. Unless a new piece of evidence falls out of the sky - some good forensics which will tie everything together - the case will be closed in a few weeks without conclusion.”

Who is carrying a shower curtain in a bag- with other clothes ? A jeans from a man and clothes from a child with a little Dna ? Not 100% matched to the Dna from Maddie- it is alway’s the same.
It suggests- M. is abducted and alive. Nothing more. Why ?

Has Comical Clarrie now gone completely bonkers?http://www.sundaymail.co.uk/news/uk-and-international-news/2007/11/04/prayer-for-madeleine-on-six-month-anniversary-78057-20059128/
“To confuse matters, there has been a ‘new’ sighting of her in Morocco.
But spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “This is a very old sighting which we were keen to get out there in September when everyone was busy implying the family had something to be guilty about.”
What the hell is an “old sighting that we are keen to get out there”? Sounds like something overheard by accident in one of his Anorak McArse briefings. So he’s saying that it’s old but we need put put out some junk in the media to keep ourselves on te front pages.
Yep that’s about it Clarrie but we don’t need you to spell it out! The Anoraks cottoned on months ago…
Must be time for Comical’s medication…

Once again congratulations are due to ‘The Express’ if this report (extract below) is based on accurate information:
QUOTE
“Dr Russell O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, Matthew Oldfield and Dr David Payne were last night forced to bring in their own lawyers after increasing fears that Portuguese police were preparing to implicate them in the case of the vanished four-year-old girl.
It has emerged that the four, all members of the “Tapas Nine” dining party, have been warned detectives are prepared to make them official suspects in the next few days.
The latest dramatic development follows the discovery by Portuguese investigators of contradictions in key statements made in the first few hours after Madeleine vanished.
DNA samples also appear to support the chilling theory that Kate and Gerry were involved in whatever happened to their daughter”.

COMMENT:
The specific naming of all the other four ‘Tapas 9′ men, plus Russell O’Brien’s partner Jane Tanner, confirms my view, which I’ve posted before, that the four ‘Tapas 9′ men were not involved in a ’social tennis event’ between 5.30pm and 6.30pm/7pm - as claimed by a ’source close to the McCanns’ in a report in a couple of newspapers back in late September - but were involved in planning what to do with Madeleine’s body and how to enact a fake ‘abduction’ later that evening.
Inconsistencies between witnesses to a crime is one thing. But major, quite irreconcilable contradictions between their accounts is quite another.
The blatant contradictions between those witnesses who claimed to have seen Stuart Lubbock floating in a swimming pool was what led me to conclude, in my book on his death, that the entire claim that Stuart Lubbock was ever in Michale Barrymore’s swimming pool that night was a smokescreen, a fabrciation, a lie. Which Essex Police now accept.
At the very least, if it is clear that the witnesses are lying about Madeleine’s disappearance, and the timeline etc., then those involved should be prosecuted for whatever is the Portuguese equivalent of our criminal offences of ‘interfering with the course of justice’ or ‘perverting the course of justice’.
If all four ‘Tapas 9′ men were involved in covering up Madeleine’s death and arranging a false abduction scenario, we would still be left with the question of why.
Were they all in some way ‘involved’ in Madeleine’s death?

Are you here to discuss anything or just post advertising for the Mccanns ‘defence’?
November 4th, 2007 at 9:35 am
12 Tony.
The limited pictures released fo Madeleine might be taken to indicate controlling knowledge of the clothes she wore during that holiday.
Or might simply be that the parents werent with her very much.

Who knows whether the dna is shit or not. If it is it could be a tragedy because if the McCanns arguido status is removed, everyone on their side will assume their innocence when it proves nothing of the sort. It will mean that the police are shit and nobody (apart from those with a brain) will ever again question the involvement of the McCanns.
And given my theory about what happened here, I will just pray for all the female children that some of these people have or come into contact with in the future.
November 4th, 2007 at 9:39 am
Should the McCanns mention other missing children - or stick with their missing daughter only?

I think the McCanns should just shut up until we know whether they’re either cold heartless murderes or merely cold heartless parents…………….

okay…………… Then how come giving them arguido status gave so many here the right to assume their guilt?
You can’t have it both ways!
Anorak…. I think other children missing under similar circumstance shoud be mentioned (Ben Needham for one) but there’s a world of difference between these children and those who are the victims of parental abduction.
IMO of course!

Could it be that Sir Richard Branson is trying to ‘rescue’ two sinking ships at the same time? - Northern Rock and Team McCann?
==========================================================
Branson Confirms Northern Rock Interest
A consortium led by Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group has confirmed interest in a potential rescue of crisis-hit mortgage lender Northern Rock.
Under the proposals, the group would inject “substantial new equity” into Northern Rock, renaming and rebranding the business as part of Virgin Money.
Sir Richard, CEO of the Virgin Group, told Sky News: “We have been planning this ever since we saw the queues around the Northern Rock building society. It was very sad to see that.
“It was a great company. We felt that Virgin could put a rescue package together. We have successful experience in savings products and we have very strong financial partners.”
His approach is backed by US insurance group AIG, buyout firm WL Ross, investment group Toscafund and Hong Kong based investment group First Eastern.
Virgin Money already offers mortgages, credit cards and insurance services.
The company is just one of a number of suitors said to be circling Northern Rock, which has seen its share price dive since it was forced to seek emergency funding from the Bank of England last month.
Earlier this month, it emerged that New York-based private equity firm JC Flowers was planning a £10bn bid for the bank, and private equity firm Cerberus is also understood to be interested in the firm’s assets.
Banking giant Citi has also agreed to be on hand to lend Northern Rock some £10bn to help ease its funding problems.
The Northern Rock crisis has led to major criticisms of the banking regulatory system - Chancellor Alistair Darling is considering introducing new legislation to increase protection for savers’ deposits.
The group had to call on the BoE after it was faced with soaring borrowing costs amid tighter credit markets following the collapse of the sub-prime mortgage market in the US.
The sub-prime market consists of loans to borrowers with poor credit records which give a higher return because they are a higher risk - the number of defaults has been growing.

just got back from church, as a 6 month anniversary, the vicar mentioned maddie in his prayers, he also mentioned the parents and said he hoped they would confess if they were guilty, to alieviate the stress and pressure they are under, quite a bizarre statement i thought

15. m.e., I don’t believe this story is true. News of World feels fairly ridiculous as far as tabloids go. Although, I suspect the story about the woman ’suferring’ from ease of orgasm (she has about 200 daily!) or Permanent Sexual Arousal Syndrome (PSAS), which increases blood flow to the sex organs, is absolutely true.
Oh and I have not yet found this story being reported by any other news org.

SIR RICHARD BRANSON, TEAM McCANN, NORTHERN ROCK AND PROFESSOR TIM CONGDON
Veering off-topic, I know, but just as you can’t trust the BBC on Northern Rock, you can’t trust them to report accurately on Madeleine McCann. Here’s a report from an acquaintance of mine:
QUOTE
Newsnight on Friday night (3 November) had a piece on Northern Rock and its £23bn borrowings.
In the studio afterwards were Vince Cable and Professor Tim Congdon.
Good old Vinny argued that the bank had been behaving ‘recklessly’, but the ***supposedly independent expert*** Congdon was strangely emotional, insisting Cable had his figures wrong, and that, and I quote, ‘Everything is fine.’
Now, his entire argument was based on the most recent FSA/audit reports raising no concerns about Northern Rock’s standing. But can a financial expert really be so stupid as to place all his faith in these charlatans? Has he forgotten about Arthur Andersen/Enron?
He was so emotional, it seemed obvious that there must be more to it.
So I did a 10-second Google check and, lo and behold, a recent FT article about him ends with the disclosure that ‘The writer’s latest book is ‘Keynes, the Keynesians and Monetarism’. He has shares in Northern Rock’.
Now, surprise, surprise, the BBC either didn’t know this, or chose not to tell the viewer.

My husband is urging me to stop coming on anorak as I now see dead people. Wel.l, I’ve actually had a number of really upsetting dreams about Madeleine. I wonder if the McCanns dream of her? They can control themselves when awake but what happens when they close their eyes? I suspect Gerry just dreams about world domination but what does Kate see? I hope she is tormented.

November 4th, 2007 at 10:04 am
Tony bennett 12 It was reported in The Times yesterday that the Portuguese police were building up a case against the McCanns based on the illegal disposal of abody and simulating a kidnapping-crimes which are punishable by 8 years imprisonment. What do you think?? Also what do you make of the fact that the McCanns did not go through check in when they left Faro, apparently they had been requested by the British Ambassador to do so.
