Madeleine McCann: Find Madeleine, Kate Must Not Cry And No Evidence
MADDY WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE: NEW HOPE SHE COULD BE ALIVE”
Page 7: “Police: We have no evidence she did in apartment” – Portugal’s “top forensic laboratory” cannot find evidence that Madeleine died on the night she went missing
A “senior police source” says the Find Madeleine campaign has hampered the investigation. Says he: “People used to look at her picture and well up with tears… Now they see her picture and it gets no reaction”
Does this say more about human nature than the campaign?
“Mountain folk who love their children so keen to find her” – Villagers in Morocco are looking for Madeleine. “We very happy to help,” says one local
DAILY MIRROR page 6: PUBLIC ‘SICK OF MADDY’ COP SHOCK”
It is “astonishing” it is a “cruel attack”. The police source says: “They’ve overdone it and it’s time to stop.” Can the McCanns introduce another child, a new face we can see? Problem is, the McCanns have only one daughter to focus on. And it she they want found
Says a friend of the McCanns: “Madeleine is currently the most famous missing child in the world and we don’t think that is a bad thing” – such is the way of Brand McCann
DAILY MAIL page 5: “Madeleine campaign ‘could have put her in danger’”
Carlos Anjos, chairman of the Portuguese Union of Police Detectives, says: “The parents and their publicity campaign have turned her into a symbol of something ugly and wrong. People are sick of having it rammed down their throats”
Says a police source: “I know a woman who was out before sunrise every day, searching all day. She couldn’t eat or sleep. It was like she (Madeleine) was her baby. Now she pulls a face when she sees pictures”
Says Clarence Mitchell PR: “Everything we have done from the word go has been very carefully considered and thought through”
And some people would say that is the problem – too careful, too thought through
DAILY STAR page 11: “MADDIE: ‘EYE’ GIRL IN MOROCCO ISN’T HER”
Naoual Malhi sees Madeleine in Morocco. The McCanns private detectives head to Morocco. But local police find the child first. It’s a Moroccan child with blonde-ish hair. It’s not Madeleine
“Expert insists friends are key” – David Wilson, professor of criminology at Birmingham University, says his “educated guess” is that Madeleine is not alive.
THE SUN page 9: “Cop rap for’ Find Maddie’”
Says Clarence Mitchell: “We have done our absolute best to make people aware Madeleine is out there”
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 2: “No more TV tears for Madeleine, Kate told”
“Kate McCann has been told by British police not to cry in public for fear it could play into the hands of Madeleine’s abductor”
Clarence Mitchell tells a Spanish TV station that British police experts are worried a kidnapper would “get off” on any show of emotion by her and husband Gerry.
THE TIMES: “Kate and Gerry McCann ‘created information monster’ that hindered search for Madeleine McCann”
Says Carlos Anjos: “There is no criminal investigation which can feed a news frenzy for six months, so what we have seen are both English and Portuguese journalists behaving in a scandalous and unprofessional way. Writing terrible stories in the papers, some of which have clearly affected the McCanns… now we have to say that the McCanns are partly to blame for this. Because it was something they created”

…and as one of J.K. Rowling’s character would say, CONSTANT VIGILANCE!
One relatives and family friend party, I was the one sorta looking after the kids again. I was just reading a book in the same room as them, as this was inside the house, they are in no danger from strangers. …but they are kids. It’s a good thing I was there, because one of the kid, the biggest and the most aggressive, was involved in a squabble, he picked up the metal firetruck, and aimed at the head of one of the other kid! ARGH!
I heard much later, that the aggressive kid, was playing with one of my cousins, something stupid like stomping on a fork. I have no idea WHY DEAR GOD WHY, but but somehow the thing bounced up and nicked the kid IN THE EYE.

I feel bad for the girl, but not the parents. I can’t see myself in their place at all. I’ve babysat my 6-10 years old cousins and I have never went out to leave them alone beyond speaking range. I’ll been tasked (and compensated) with looking after them during fairground excursions and I’ve always held their hands or kept them within an arm’s length of me. Being cautious is a pain, but it’s better than being the one that have lost the children. Being cautious 24/7 will drive one insane, but that’s why you should avoid having more children than you can care for (and as they are both doctors they should have the means to avoid or to care for), and comb through reliables for babysitters.
…and Christ, it sickens me to know that are parents who will be terrified over what happened to Madeleine, but then keep dong the things that risk their own children falling to the same fate anyways, gambling that it will be some other careless parent’s children who will be taken and not their children.

Tina Porter - what a disgraceful post. You should be ashamed of yourself. The McCanns are suspects in the case of the disappearance of their daughter and until they are completely cleared - and even then to beg for money would be disgraceful - but now that they are suspects the fund should be frozen and all attempts by anyone to encourage the vulnerable to contribute should be blocked. Maybe you are one of the ones who will gain by the fund - maybe not - Dont you think that more than a million pounds is enough already to be poured down the necks of two wine boozing, child neglecting holidaymakers?

Does ANORAK permit the soliciting of money on its website forum. I hope not. If not, please delete this request to support the McLiars. If so, readers should also feel free to donate money to the FUND TO PUT KATE AND GERRY MCCANN IN JAIL FOR A LONG LONG TIME. There is also another FUND TO HELP FIND MADELEINE’S BODY TO USE AS EVIDENCE AGAINST THE MCCANNS. Another choice would be the FUND TO HELP FIND THE TWINS DECENT PARENTS AFTER THE MCCANNS LOSE CUSTODY OF THEM.

Whoa !! chill girl !! No-one has forgotten about the basic fact that Madeleine is still missing and may or may not be dead. I don’t think any posters on any of the many threads is likely to forget that, we all know that and wish more than anything that this poor little mite will be found - either way - to put an end to all this dreadful mystery. It is beyond frustrating that we haven’t a clue where she is or what happened to her.
It is the tangled web that the McCrims and their dodgy associates have woven that people are still commenting on but are, in fact, getting jaded with. There is something very wrong in all of that and I, for one, would love to get to the bottom of it but please don’t assume that we have all forgotten Madeleine….far from it !!

I am so angry at the people or persons that took Madeleine Beth McCann on that horrible night of May 3,2007.I am so mad that Madeleine is some how being forgotten about. It feels like Madeleine doesn’t matter to any one but she matters to me.I care so much about Madeleine. This just is not fair that Madeleine is still missing.Madeleine has been missing for 190 days and 6 months.I am so sad and so angry that Madeleine is still missing. The longer Madeleine is missing the more sadder and angry I am.Please don’t forget about Madeleine she is to important. In our local paper today, a mother was given a four-month curfew and 100 hours of unpaid community work because she left her nine year old daughter alone. She was deemed to have failed as a parent and was charged on one count of causing an act of cruelty .
Fortunately for the child, she was found wandering at 1.30 am and picked up by police officers . The mother said she only “intended to leave the house for five minutes” .
Name’s obviously not McCrim then……

Your scenario is, though, one which makes the McCanns’ guilt minimal. It’s hard to imagine a scenario in which they could rid themselves of child-neglect/cover-up guilt. I tried. I think you would have to assume that they LIED about their monitoring system and LIED about not using the MW system. They did no checking, because the children were being checked by MW staff.
It was reported that all children were together, “but one”. If that is so, then all Tapas9 lied about where the children were. Now, since the Paynes were using the MW monitoring system, this would mean that ALL children (but one) were being monitored.
Now suppose the one child who was NOT there with them was Madeleine, who had already fallen gravely ill/injured. She had been removed to another apartment.
I do not know the details of the MW monitoring system, but I understood it involved MW staff merely listening to determine if children were crying or making noise. Thus, the staff responsible for monitoring did not necessarily know how many children were in the apartment. (let me know if I’m wrong, but I think their job did not include visually checking each child). This staff thus could not know that Madeleine was not in the apartment (or would probably not know), unless they were extra diligent, curious, etc.
So under this version, the child neglect issue is considerably lessened (other than the separate issue of how sufficient is the MW service), but the cover-up seems even more sinister.
So for the McCanns their minimum culpability would probably be to have people believe they are “merely” covering up child neglect. And yet they have essentially admitted this neglect, and the cover stories of parents checking is very weak. So they wind up appearing to be guilty of BOTH child neglect, AND covering up something more sinister.
One almost wants to feel sorry for the McCanns, because they appear to be such vile creatures, and one wonders how could anyone be so vile… but it’s plain as day that Madeleine died either by sedation-induced allergic response, or by sedation-induced accident. Do we KNOW this? Well, the whole point of hiding the body is so that we can’t know for sure what they were most afraid of in the autopsy.

Sorry, but you are wrong on this point. The McCanns would not be “completely innocent”. They would still be guilty of neglect, and of cover-up — by your own admission:

Good point..
I’m not getting into that whole ‘neglect’ debate again!
I did correct my post on today’s blog pointing out that even if the scenario I described were true, that the McCann’s baby listening service was still crap and they would continue to be quite possibly the most annoying couple and worst self seeking publicists we’ve ever had the displeasure to have on our TV’s.
My blood boils every time someone tries to make excuses for their baby listening service!

goofsayer - You apparently are unaware all words have an etymology. No one in social sciences, forensics, criminal profiling, anthropology or any other profession or even lay persons who are moderately intelligent use the word in the 21st century unless they are a fraud-quack-hack.

1136. Dr. Watson,
Not “angry” at anyone. I was having a discussion with soothsayer who imho is a fraud pretending to have important connections. It was s/he who used the word “mulatto” which is a derogatory word and anyone with normal intelligence would not use. Certainly not someone who claims to be a ’soothsayer’?
Of course the answers are in the DNA. But soothsayer has already firmly stated s/he doesn’t care what the Texas authorities have to say. S/he *knows* Baby Grace’s race and a whole bunch of other pertinant information.
I read Stevos’ post but did not respond because a) I’ve already commented that I would no longer engage in debates about whether or not BG is or is not Madeleine. I already clearly stated my position posting info on 2 other missing American girls who I think BG probably is and b) there is nothing else for me to discuss until someone steps forward with information or the forensics lead them to her family.
I am a believer in science and thus believe in DNA. And I am more than willing to wait for the results. However, I never once said that other people cannot discuss the matter. I have no idea where you got that idea from.

We seem to be misunderstanding each other. Edit….
But what about the rest of what I said?
+++++++++++++++
Apologies.. Anorak crashed last night….
I think, with respect, you are making this scenario somewhat more complicated than it needs to be. Nowhere in my original post did I suggest that KM had any knowledge of what happened.
• Sometime after the McCann’s left for the Tapas bar, one of their friends for some unknown reason entered the McCann’s apartment.
• Something happened which necessitated Madeleine being removed from the McCann’s apartment – either dead or alive.
• The friend then joined the McCann’s and their friends at the Tapas bar.
• Once Madeleine was discovered ‘missing’ at 10.00 PM, the ‘friend’ may even have helpfully suggested to Gerry that Madeleine must have been abducted because she couldn’t have opened doors/windows etc.
• The friend would be more than happy to go along with the need to concoct an alibi, if one was needed, that could show that the children were checked regularly. They may even have ‘helpfully’ suggested that an alibi would be ‘prudent’ in order to avoid possible child neglect charges.
• This scenario doesn’t require anybody else other than the ‘friend’ to have any knowledge of what happened to Madeleine. That said, it wouldn’t be impossible that the “friend’s” partner was aware, or had to become aware at some stage.
I’m not suggesting that I believe the above scenario, because I haven’t a clue what happened. I’m just pointing out an alternative theory that might fit the known ‘evidence’.
The only ‘issues’ I can see with the above scenario is that the McCann’s would be completely innocent. A thought which appears to be conflict with a lot of peoples heartfelt beliefs.

1149- Lyn, no , three girls from three families. One of the girls was one of a triad of sisters (which I notice right off - I”m one of three girls). But the girl from the Family-oF-Three-Girls was of the Right Age .. the others not so much.
Whatever. Obviously the girl is not Madeleine.

always did think Fiona Payne had a very innocent face.
I am entirely way too drunk tonight to discuss this rationally!! I made my own wine and it is way, way stronger than I thought it was. I\’m all loopy. I feel like DeeDee, only homegrown chokecherry. What the heck happened to DeeDeeDee. That was the last time I was tipsy, in fact, was one night when DeeDeeDee and I were on here.
But MURDER, if you happen to see this, please note, Stig has pointed out to us that when Tanner initially reported her sighting of The Abductor and Madeleine\’s PJs, it was cited as 9:30 p.m! Initial reports put that at 9:30 p.m, not 9:15 p.m.
\’
So according to your timeline, that makes an abduction possible.
Mind you ,I don\’t think it makes an abduction likely , only possible.

I think it makes the most sense for it to be David and Fiona Payne. They’re the only two who responded with ‘No Comment’ when questioned by The Daily Mail as to whether they were changing their story with the PJ. Weren’t the Paynes the ones who actually used a baby sitter within their apartment? They have the least culpability and guilt within the group, from what I’ve read about the case.
= = = = =
Lots of clues that you are right.
At the recent memorial service David and Fiona did not attend! Even though it’s been said that Fiona was Kate’s close friend (O’Brian is Gerry’s friend) and she voluntarily stayed behind in PDL to help them in the early days.
And I found these quotes on webslueths.com
At her home in Exeter, Devon, she denied that she or her partner Russell O’Brien were about to change their statements. She said: “We’ve had no contact with the police.”
Two other members of the Tapas Nine, Matthew and Rachael Oldfield, also denied that they wanted to change their accounts.
At their £1million terraced house in Richmond, South-West London, Mr Oldfield said: “We’ve not changed our statement and as far as I know it’s the same for the rest of the group.”
That leaves David and Fiona Payne as the two who are about to break with the gang.

I don’t believe that they were told to show no emotion and were able to obey the instruction for 6 months. Also on Mother’s Day they were trying really, really hard to cry - voices quivering, faces scrunched - and it didn’t happen.
I think their P.R. and friendly hacks have made this advice up as an excuse for their lack of emotion. I mean, Gerry has actually looked gleeful at times (about the attention, I’m sure it’s not how he feels about Madeleine) and wouldn’t a kidnapper react to that, maybe by thinking, ‘well they’re happy enough, I’ll just keep Maddie here with me in my Moroccan village’.
November 8th, 2007 at 3:00 am
today seemed to signal some changes.
i think the parents have information about what happened. that’s as generous as I can be toward them. psychologically speaking, if they are guilty of a worse charge than neglect it is hard to imagine how they could have gone forward until now. And what incentive did their friends have to maintain their pact of silence when the death of a child was at the center of matters>

Sorry about abandoning you. I was finishing an essay. I’m in the 3rd year of my University course and I’m finding it much harder than last year. Possibly the alcohol is killing my brain cells.
How do you feel about the McCanns anyway (if you ever read this)? I truly can’t make up my mind. Sometimes I like them, sometimes I can’t stand them. Sometimes I think they must be guilty, sometimes I think the idea is too hideous (but then look at the Italian case - if it’s true - who would think two good-looking students would kill another in a sex attack? My flatmates and I were staring at each other differently today and curiously we’re all off home at the weekend).
