I understand that Tony Bennett has not been a ‘Qualified’ Solicitor since 1999. He seems to change his title & job description, as & when he see’s fit. ‘Retired’ I will take that ‘With a pinch of salt’. The private prosecution he tried to bring against both Gerry & Kate McCann, was one of the most badly & nasty events I hace come across.

I think Tony Bennett is out for publicity for a new book. Why not bring a case against those of the Tapas 9 who routinely left their children on that holiday. Don’t their kids need protection too. An didn’t he bring an unsuccessful private prosecution against Micheal Barrymore. Mr Bennet is not championing a cause he is interested in self serving publicity. and Stevo your site should be re-named the tony and stevo conspracyicy page- dont blog here unless you agree with us.

Mr Bennett was the Veritas Party candidate in the 2005 election, he also worked for Robert Kilroy Silk MEP. Rather strange how Kilroy Silk no longer required Mr Bennett’ s services.

My understanding is that Mr Bennett is know a retired Solicitor. Who can afford to retire at just 60,I live in Roydon, I know Mr Bennett used to be Terry Lubbock solicitor, I saw Mr Bennett on GMTV talking about Mr Lubbock & the Barrymore case, and it always said in the local paper Solicitor. This would be a total disgrace if Mr Bennett was not a practising solicitor.

What a BORRING man this Tony Bennett is, has he nothing better to do with his time.
A man who seems to be able to poke his nose,into things that do not really concern him.
Its a great pity that the McCann case ,has attracted ths person’s interest.
I live & work in Harlow. THERE does not seem to be a week, that goes by that has the mention ‘BENNETT’ or this person’s name or, horrible photo, in our LOCAL RAGS.
GET a LIFE Mr Bennett leave the McCann family alone.

Is the public really this stupid? I weep for our future. Obviously he came to this conclusion based on Maddy’s disappearance - which most people “get” without having to have it spelled out for them.

About the Tony Bennett thing - how very interesting that he focussed on Kate and Gerry when their friends have also admitted publicly and in writing that they also left their children alone that same night. Why did he not include them in his plea for prosecution, if he indeed only wanted to save the children? Do the other couples’ children not need “saving” in such a way?

Good for you Mr Bennett. Gerry now says he was concerned at security around the apartment but it didnt stop him leaving very young children to go out and enjoy himself.
If this was a couple living on benefits we would be seeing a different media and authority repsonse. And it is an offence to leave children in an unsafe situation - and they obviously did.

As for Jane. If you look back over what she first said - she saw a man with ’something’ then a man with a ‘possible ‘child, then it ‘is ‘ a child , then a child in pink PJs and she now its Murat again. And don’t forget there’s a witness also outside the apartment ,who never saw her or a man with a child and waiters who swear she never checked on her kids. So I think shes lying. In fact they all change their stories don’t they.

Oh. My. God. Tony Bennett looks EXACTLY like I imagined him. Except I think maybe he is five or ten years younger than I pictured him. Otherwise, it’s perfect. I”m going to go see if I can find a picture of a guy who looks like Stevo does in my head.
