eight months missing, do you really believe this is possible.?,

It is probably true that the Portugese Police were not as diligent as they should have been,but
your remarks about their ability now to know what they are doing is unjustified. Remember,
PDL is a small Resort and something like this happening is very rare and like most of us
initially it would seem inconceivable that these middle class parents could be involved in
their daughter”s disappearance, and with all their Friends shouting “Abduction” the Police
thought the same.

How much longer will Portugal continue to have this ancient attitude, and unprofessional way of dealing with challenges?

The Portuguese Police is the one, who needs to confess all their mistakes from day one in this investigation. They wish, they could, force these parents to confess something they did not commit, to at the end, the case will look as it is solved and the Portuguese Police would look so efficient.

All of us Portuguese, who live in foreign countries know too well how backwards the system functions in Portugal. It is scarry to think that a country which looks so calm and peacefull, is in fact the opposite. Afterall maybe we all should agree with Lord Byron who said Portugal was a wonderful place, without the Portuguese. If the only guilt of these parents was to leave their children sleeping in their bedroom, possibly because the place looks so calm that nothing wrong can happen, I ask myself, why is the Portuguese people so upset about it, when thousands of Portuguese parents in Portugal and abroad leave their children alone, to go out for dinners, to the cinema and to work? How can the Portuguese even open their mouths?

It is irritating, embarrassing and very very sad to see that Portugal is still so far away to become the paradise that many people think it is, unfortunatelly for those foreigners who though so and chose to spend their holidays there and now gained a lifelong nightmare.

May G-O-D grant the Mccann family all the strengh and health to continue searching for their little Maddie.

I witnessed the attack on you and thought it was uncalled for and very unpleasant indeed. I know how upsetting personal attacks can be. I do wish we could all get back to Madeiline.

Bountyhunter was threatening me, as he has been right from my first post. It looks like he’s got a problem with me being Dutch. Sorry about that, can’t help it, blame it on my parents.
Next time he threatens me or someone else, I’ll put a complaint at Mods and Admin.

With sometimes almost no news or interesting debates going on, I don’t mind just to chitchat a little bit. Better then watching the telly or misbehaving, imo. And I do like Lulu’s funny/witty remarks. I also like the way Garth knows how to play a few posters. Over and over again they jump into the same trap. Also remember how Inspector G. with his funny remarks often created a better atmosphere? The subject is serious enough, some of us need a little bit of humour to let the steam off.

Everybody is entitled to have their own opinion. This is a free forum and we don’t have to agree on things. Wouldn’t it be sooooooo boring if we were all alike and all thinking the same? I think that testing a statement or a theory is very valuable and better than all running in the same direction as soon as someone suggests something.

And I agree it is sometimes disappointing to see “old news”. On the other hand the poster might not know its “old news”, so may be we could help him/her soon out of his/her dreams?

And how much I would like to help to find Madeleine and/or the one that harmed that girl, I have to be realistic. We don’t have enough clues, many clues are misinformation and we don’t know how to differ. If the PJ with all his knowledge, men, witnesses, cctv, dna, etc. couldn’t charge anyone until now, whom am I to think I could? btw did you read Murder’s post about the media? And did you ever read Pat Brown profiler about how we absorb information? Very interesting psychological insights about how we are manipulated.

And yes! I was against war on Irak. Even put a candle in front of my window. A pity that didn’t work.

You are right, when my brain is less woolly I shall try of think of some satire. I can’t keep my feet in both these threads any longer. It’s far too long anyway.
