Madeleine McCann: 4650 Articles, Christian Ridout Was Here And Lawless Morocco

kate-mccann-badge-maddie Madeleine McCann: 4650 Articles, Christian Ridout Was Here And Lawless MoroccoMADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.

DAILY EXPRESS front page: Poster blitz in Morocco”

“More than 11,000 letters and posters have been distributed in remote parts of the North African country to jog the memory of someone who may have seen the little girl”

A spokesman says: “E-mail is great within larger towns and cities, but there are still a lot of people who do not have Madeleine’s picture or the phone contact details to report sightings or information”

Do you have Madeleine’s picture? Do you know the phone number?

DAILY MAIL: “Letter blitz on remote Moroccan mountain villages that Madeleine McCann campaign cannot reach”

“Agents [of Metodo 3] have distributed photographs of the little girl with an appeal in French and Arabic to call with information about her whereabouts. But it has proved difficult to reach all of the isolated communities where a child could have been taken, many of which are in lawless, mountainous regions”

Those lawless Moroccans…

“Madeleine: Private detectives hunt for British barman known as DJ Shifty, accused of grooming an under-age girl for sex”

“Part-time barman and disc jockey Christian Ridout, 32, allegedly sent the British girl obscene text messages when he worked in an expats’ pub 200 yards from where Madeleine disappeared. When the 12-year-old’s mother discovered the explicit messages, Ridout - also known as DJ Shifty - left Portugal in a hurry”

A suspect?

Says the paper: “By coincidence, the Ridout family were next-door neighbours of the family of Robert Murat, the chief suspect in the Madeleine hunt, when the Murats lived in the nearby village of Almadena. The night after Madeleine went missing, a British expat walked into the Plough and Harrow pub in Praia da Luz, still owned by his parents Tony, 57, and Jill, 58, and asked: ‘Where’s Christian then?’ Locals have disparagingly nicknamed the pub ‘The Plough and Paedophile‘ and the missing man is widely disliked in the tight-knit community”

So where is Christian? Well, he left Praia da Luz a few years ago. His mother says she has not seen him for two years. Says the girl’s mother: “I went in to see them just before Madeleine disappeared and they confirmed they’re still looking for him. ‘No one knows where he is, but he could have been back to this area”

Or not…

THE SUN front page: “Publicity blitz for Maddie in Africa”

“Many still don’t recognise her”

Help make Madeleine McCann the world’s most recognisable face

“Despite a massive campaign highlighting the seven-month search for their daughter, experts believe many in the north African country still lack the crucial information they need to help trace her”

Many?

“Now a silent army of volunteers from the Helping To Find Madeleine campaign have given their time over the festive period to flood businesses across the nation with 11,500 letters and posters”

Not so silent

“The initiative comes after the McCanns’ Spanish detective agency pin-pointed Morocco as the most likely place little Maddie may have been taken”

Can you pinpoint a “likely place” to an entire nation? Is this detective work or guesswork?

Kate and Gerry McCann are “doctors”. Fact

Kate pins on badge of hope: “ANGUISHED Kate McCann returned to church yesterday – with a badge of hope bearing a picture of missing Madeleine pinned close to her heart”

A new merchandise push?

One “worshipper” at Kate’s church says: “Every mother wants to cuddle her children at Christmas – it’s heartbreaking that Kate has been denied that. The badge is a symbol of hope that could help focus new eyes on the hunt for Madeleine”

“347 new Maddie calls combed” - The McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell says: “We are pleased with the calls and they are continuing to come in. Every single call is much appreciated and we are going through them with a fine-tooth comb. Any that need to be acted upon swiftly are being acted upon swiftly. We don’t go into detail because if there is any significant information”

DAILY STAR: “TECS: MADDIE BEING HELD IN MOROCCO”

“More than 11,500 posters appealing for information about the youngster have been sent out to the furthest reaches of the north African country”

Francisco Marco, the PI hired by the McCanns, says: “Morocco is the perfect place to hide a kidnapped girl”. He has said this before. Is Morocco the perfect place? Why not Algeria? Or Malta?

DAILY RECORD: “Maddie Poster Blitz In Morocco”

“Schools, supermarkets and medical centres are being blitzed with thousands of photos of the missing four-year-old. And letters written in French and Arabic are being sent to towns and villages in the most remote parts of the country”

Madeleine in Morocco. Or not. Again… Isabel Gonzalez saw her.  Mari Pollard saw her

Clarence Mitchell says: “Anyone who puts effort into assisting us in any way, we are incredibly grateful for, and it sounds like they have done a fantastic job. I have no doubt that it is this kind of effort and initiatives that will lead us to finding Madeleine”
Gerry and Kate McCann are “doctors”

THE GUARDIAN: “From Mr Bean to Shambo the bull, the media obsessions of 2007”
A review: “Almost nine months after she vanished, we know a lot about Madeleine McCann and her family. We know the legal implications of being named an official suspect in a Portuguese criminal investigation. What we do not know is who took her, if she is alive and whether any trace of her will ever be found again. A total of 4,650 articles have appeared in British newspapers since she disappeared on May 3”

THE SCOTSMAN: “Madness, badness, hate and heroism - Robert McNeil continues his unique take on the events of 2007 with a look back at the second three months of the year…”

“Hell also visited the parents of three-year-old Madeleine McCann on 3 May when the toddler disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve. In the ensuing months, Kate and Gerry McCann used the media to keep the case in the public eye. The Portuguese police did the same, but their efforts were directed more at casting doubts on the McCanns and their friends. Supposed sightings of Madeleine were reported periodically, but each time hopes were dashed”

THE TIMES: “Hundreds ring hotline after Madeleine plea”

Yesterday in the latest entry on his internet diary, Mr McCann wrote: “Madeleine should not be spending Christmas away from her loving family. The person who took her has it in their power to end our suffering and will be able to appease their conscience that they have done the right thing – especially at this time of year. Kate and I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to write to us and let us know Madeleine and our family are still in their thoughts and prayers. We still have at least one hundred cards to open! As always, every single one will be read and the support expressed helps renew our determination to find Madeleine”

The story, speculation and sensation…

REPLY: Like ‘i-don’t-believe-them’, though I wouldn’t express my views in the same way, I am not convinced that *any* child needs sedation in the form of drugs. They need attention, comfort, security, love. I do not buy so-called ‘ADHD’ syndrome either, save that hyperactivity can be caused by lack of attention, lack of proper discipline, other dysfunction in the family, or possibly an excess of food and drink with additives. I am shocked at the vast number of children in the Western world prescribed Ritalin or alternatives.

That said, of course there are severely mentally handicapped, autistic children or others with severe physical handicaps who require way above the normal degree of parental attention and in those cases the parent needs respite and help, but *not* IMO sedative drugs.

I’m sorry, Ann, I cannot really connect with what you say about Madeleine. Glimpses of her from videos and photos show her, to my mind, as a child with some spirit and a sense of fun, I don’t see problems. I found that last video of her on the airport bus, which was posted on You Tube, very sad - her mother was stroking the twins affectionately, her father was moodily turned away from her swearing, and she was set apart on her own, swinging her legs, with no adult being warm towards her.

One of the most disturbing things I read about the case was early on, where we learnt from a family member that ’someone was always with Kate’ at the weekends when Gerry was away from home on all his speaking engagements and conferences.

This spoke to me of a woman who could not be trusted to be on her own and might suddenly lose all control under even a modest degree of pressure.

It also spoke to me of a man who was more interested in his career and profile than spending time with his three young children

NEW THREAD ON THE MIRROR FORUMS WORTH INVESTIGATING

“Did Madeleine die on the night she was heard crying?”

    http://forums.mirror.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=33459

COMMENT: As I suggested yesterday, the combined news that Madeleine was heard crying for *two hours* and that it was on *Wednesday 2 May* and not on the Tuesday as most reports said, opens up new possibilities as to what might have happened. It is doubtful whether SKY TV would have run this information without strong back-up evidence.

Some interesting theories are discussed on the above thread.

Wednesday 2 May is also the night they were allegedly seen in Chaplins bar which is half-a-mile (8 to 10 minutes’ walk) from the Ocean Club apartments.

Some of you may recall there was a report that Mark Warners had received a complaint about Madeleine crying (presumably from Mrs Pamela Fenn) and had spoken to the McCanns about it the morning afterwards.

At least these 3 possibilities come to mind:

    1) Madeleine died, possibly from an accidental injury, during the night, and wasn’t discovered until the McCanns woke up the morning after their boozy night out

    2) One or both McCanns took it out on Madeleine for having got out of bed/cried and caused the ‘fuss’ of a member of Mark Warners’ staff complaining about them

    3) The complaint triggered an angry reaction in the McCanns, one of whom ‘lost it’ with Madeleine later that day (3rd May)

I agree with you, but aren’t (2) and (3) the same? Do you mean the difference of timing in the rage outburst (Wed night versus Thurs day)?

Also, remember that it was reported that Kate appeared as an abusive parent to the police. That is how they regarded her, and examples were given. So I do think the police have considered the same idea you are suggesting. Kate was apparently not even trusted to be alone with children, and reading her diary it is obvious why. So many in the family knew about the abusiveness. But what are family for in times of crisis, eh?

A further possibility is that no matter what the Monster McCanns tried , she kept crying, and they right then and there administered more sedatives, while still in their boozed up state.

My own speculation is that Madeleine was both beaten and heavily sedated. She died from physical trauma, or from allergic reaction to drugs. Autopsy could have revealed both sedation and abuse (physical, and/or sexual). So they got rid of the body, and possibly have a Madeleine lookalike stashed away somewhere, waiting to “find” her.

All above is just speculation on police lines of inquiry — no allegations.

New Priest Arrives for St. Vincent’s.

Members of St. Vincent’s Anglican Church welcomed the Rev. Haynes Hubbard on May 6th when he arrived at Faro Airport after a 20 hour journey from his native Canada with his family and pet cat.

Taking over as Chaplain of the Algarve from Rev. Eric Britt, who gave up his licence to preach in the Diocese last July, Rev. Haynes 38, takes charge of the Church’s congregations in the region after being formally licenced by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Dr. Geoffrey Rowell, Bishop of the Church of England’s Diocese in Europe.

Born in Norfolk England and educated at University of Kings College, Halifax, Nova Scotia then later at Wycliffe College, University of Toronto, Fr. Haynes was ordained into the Diocese of Niagara and prior to accepting his appointment in the Algarve he was Rector of the parish of Dunnville, near Niagara Falls. Outside of his work as a Parish Priest he enjoys travel and, together with his wife Susan, who speaks Portuguese and Spanish, has led various humanitarian and Christian missions in Central and South America.

However, Fr. Haynes and his family are no strangers to the Algarve having spent two months here in 2007 when, following the retirement of Rev. David Kirby, he acted as locum for the congregation at Praia de Luz. Of his new appointment he said, “St. Vincent’s Chaplaincy has been established for thirty years and it is a privilege to build on that long tradition and to continue to work to develop its role in the lives of all those who have made their homes in the Algarve. Having made many friends here during a previous visit, it is almost a homecoming.”

Various posts yesterday re the Everton pic were very perceptive. It has been said before that the whole photo exercise has been a carefully managed charade, to ensure confusion. It was always plainly absurd that up-to-date/PDL pics of MM were not released at the very start of the Euro ’search’.

10 dcb “Tony do you recall a link to the Chaplin’s bar website posted on here?”

REPLY: dcb, Yes. Here it is, plus an extract.

    I would like to know:

    1) whether Mrs Fenn heard Madeleine sobbing on Tuesday 1st or Wednesday 2nd

    2) which night it was that the McCanns were seen in Chaplins - 1st or 2nd?

Incidentally, from the description below, it sounds just the place you might go to, leaving your three children all aged under four unattended, if you were basically ‘well within the bounds of responsible parenting’ but maybe, just maybe, ‘at worst a touch naive’:

    http://www.algarve-luzbay.com/places/chaplins/chaplins.html

    Opening hours 7pm to 2am

Every Sunday we serve our traditional Sunday Roast, which proves to be extremely popular (bookings advised). On Tuesday nights from 10pm we have a Quiz, it’s easy but most of all it’s fun !! If you’re a football fan you’ll will be interested to know that all major Football events are shown especially Newcastle matches!, and that there are 2 screens on which to watch your team WIN!!

Later on in the evening, once the food has finished, Chaplins swings into Bar mode and is soon full of people enjoying the music, the great company and perhaps most of all the Happy Hour (11.30pm - 12.30pm) when all drinks are half price.

  20. Hideki Says:

The McCanns leave no stone unturned in their attempts to escape justice, so perhaps they have applied to MI5 for help.

Possibly MI5’s SOCA department was already investigating and was only too happy to pretend to accede to the McCann’s request. That way they could have agents openly present AND covertly present.

Why would SOCA have already been investigating? — because their mandate includes CHILD PROTECTION (action against organzized paedophiles) and also MONEY LAUNDERING.

By this analysis, Clarence Mitchell is either a plant, or may himself be under investigation.

    Just speculation, no allegations above.

    REPLIES INTERLEAVED

“Do you mean the difference of timing in the rage outburst (Wed night versus Thursday)?”

REPLY: Yes, more or less. Scenario 2 - Mark Warners’ rep comes over: “Mr and Mrs Mcann, do you know we had a complaint from Mrs Fenn last night, she heard Madeleine crying for 2 hours. You need to do something about it”. Followed by instant reaction against Madeleine as soon as he’s gone. “Madeleine, did you get out of bed last night? You know that’s against the rules, don’t you…?”

Or Scenario 3 - One or both McCanns ‘ anger with Madeleine bubbles up during the day and she is attacked by one of them later on 3rd May

I couldn’t agree more with your observations on children (in general) not needing all the drugs so readily prescribed. So many children need more time and attention from parents, to run off their energy and express themselves, than they are willing/able to spare in the frantic pace of today’s life style. The solution is not to medicate them into submission so the parents/teachers are undisturbed.

What is most galling about the McCs and their publicity machine is the way they clearly still believe that, if they continue to bombard the public with massive publicity about their anguished search for their missing daughter, people will be deflected from believing that such a search is in vain because the MCcs know exactly what happened to Madeleine.

Meanwhile they generate more money for the fund and no doubt find ingenious ways for this to be recylced for their own benefit.

How I hope they will SOON have to face up to the fact that there are far more people awake to their ploys than the gullible whose blind acceptance has enabled them to believe they can still get away with the deception of the century.

  29. lyn Says:

The McCanns know what happened to Maddy. The body language of that little child tells us all about the situation. Maddie was a burden to that family for sure. We need to know, and know fast. There are many children who go missing. Very rarely do the parents come under suspicion.

These are different scenarios. I do not subscribe to any particular one, but consider several.

One (that you feel is not likely) is that all was pre-planned.

The other, the one I mentioned here, is that the look-alike is hidden away AFTER Madeleine is dead. Perhaps there is no need to even “stash” her , for this look-alike’s existence may not have been known. The McCanns may have just hit upon the idea of USING her, during discussion of how to make the abduction seem real.

All speculation on police thoughts, no allegations.
