Ian, I guess you agree with Karl Marx that religion is the opium of the masses?

You seem to imply that because a person had difficulty in coming to terms with the dietary needs of their first child (and many children exhibit bizarre eating habits when quite young), that this same person has no right to express an opinion, in later years. on what they now perceive to be a dangerous diet, with too many fizzy drinks and E numbers etc, when clearly they have the benefit of hindsight.

This is not to condemn parents who do not understand how such food and drink can hype their children to an uncontrollable level, but merely to wish the problem was more widely understood.

“Children don’t suffer from having working parents - it is the quality of time spent with a child not the quantity.”

**************************************
Since when is it “quality time” when the only thing you do with your kids is urge them to shut up and go to sleep?
*********************************************
REPLY: I have not seen that in actual quotes by anyone who knows them or the Police. Another sinister fabrication on here to plant that seed, let it grow and add to the 'bible' to make believers of the non-believers? All of you are very learned on that makes one wonder how you live your lives ....
********************************************
“My point was that it was totally understandable why Kate McCann had family around her helping her out when her husband was travelling.”

They were not around to “help her out” — they were around to make sure the children survived. Too bad the McCanns did not take the whole damn family to Portugal with them. Maybe someone would have prevented harm from befalling the poor little girl.
*****************************************'
REPLY: To be quite honest with you I think you are contemptible to make such a statement once again plant the seed, let it grow and add it to the bible to spread your filth throughout the net...however, I do think they ALL should have had a babysitter with little ones that small; yet they didn't and they'll live with that very big mistake and be filled with guilt for not within themselves the rest of their lives.
*****************************
Say hello to Kate for me, Cheryl. Tell her I think she can expect a big bust soon.

REPLY: I don't know her or any of them nor live over there; however, if I did and passed them on the street I'd give them sympathy.

They may be guilty of more than just neglect - I don't think so but I could well be wrong. However, if they are they are entitled to a fair trial, not a kangaroo court that is being conducted on here.

Frankly, if they are not guilty I would love to see them 'have their day in court...!!!'

Ah ! slight problem with the "send" button there I fear, well thank you so much for your kind words May, Resident Grandson, Best-Beloved and I have a very good relationship I am happy to say and we are well able to speak about things frankly and openly and I was gratified to hear him say that he can see the difference between how he has been brought up and the way his mates have and says it must come from having older "parents" who have values from a different era. That was nice as was the fact that he says he still gets cold moments when he wonders what would have happened to him if his Mother had been allowed to just "give him away to strangers" as she was going to, and is consequently fiercely loyal to us because he also knows that Best-Beloved is not even his blood kin and therefore what he has done in supporting and caring for him is probably far more worthy of praise than what I have done, which I did because no Grandchild of mine was going to end up in "the system" if I could help it.

Trumpet-blowing time.......Granddaughter-who-lives-in -the-village recently said she was talking about Grandparents with her "homies" and said she told them that her Nan ( c'est moi) was nothing like theirs, she said "...my Nan's legend !! " That actually counteracts all the nasty comments made about my being a rubbish parent and casting aspersions on the way I brought my kids up from such ....people....as 'I-don't-believe-the' et al.

1025 Ann

Edit ...To have been accused of saying I smoked heavily throughout my pregnancy …where did that one come from ?…
*********

Ann, when I read that posting, I knew it wasn't you. I believe a poster, not on here recently, named 'Annie', who mentioned her high consumption of cigarettes when pregnant and she was having a difficult life generally.

I think you are doing a great job in taking on your grandson with his different problems, and I'm sure you are being/will be rewarded by the outcome for the time, patience and love you have/are showing to him. He will always have the positive memory of how much you care.

Ann (yesterday’s thread) admitted she drugged her own child to sleep and called him a “mini-monster”. Ann, he didn’t “happen” to “develop into a paranoid schizophrenic”. No, that’s caused by rubbish parenting
*****************************************************************

I should leave this out but for the moment I am not going to....

Just see here what damage the wrong phraseology can do, for .." Ann admitted she drugged her own child to sleep ".... read instead " I gave him a mild sedative prescribed by the Doctor"..totally different connotation.

And pray do tell, what criminal act did I perform whenI called my son a "mini-monster" ?? I didn't tell HIM that !! I have heard kids called far worse, and to their faces, by a spittle-dribbling ranting moron which called itself "parent" by the virtue of the fact that it gave physical birth to the child, gentle phrases like "...you fucking 'orrible little bastard " words which would appear to imply early sexual activity and the lack of a known father amongst other things.

"i-don't-believe-them" is the kind of person it is best not to talk to for fear your words get twisted beyond recognition and you find youself in extermely compromising situations. Shun him/her/it fellow posters, for the disturbed and unhappy creature he/she/it appears to be.

Since when is it “quality time” when the only thing you do with your kids is urge them to shut up and go to sleep?

“My point was that it was totally understandable why Kate McCann had family around her helping her out when her husband was travelling.”

They were not around to “help her out” — they were around to make sure the children survived. Too bad the McCanns did not take the whole damn family to Portugal with them. Maybe someone would have prevented harm from befalling the poor little girl.

Say hello to Kate for me, Cheryl. Tell her I think she can expect a big bust soon.

"why didn’t the resort where they were staying have security guards walking around? Every resort I’ve been to have them here and outside this country also."

Is that your excuse for leaving your kids alone?

"I immediately did a search on Portugal and found what I was looking for - paedophiIe cases over there and child trafficking."

You were looking for paedophile cases?

"Then we just find out that the UK notified them of known paedophiles from there going to Portugal for vacation. You can be guaranteed they were not going for sun and relaxation at the resorts!"

And just think, there are UNKNOWN paedophiles too. I agree with you that they did not go to Portugal for "sun and relaxation". Neither did Gerry. IMHO.

Thank you Kris, you don't know how good those few words from you are !! and of course, he isn't "my" kid per se as he is my Grandson and you would be amazed at the amount of people who told me I shouldn't be doing what I am doing because he is not really "my" problem !!

But then I still can’t quite get my head around the fact they left the door unlocked. Unlocked!!! If anything had been stolen the insurance wouldn’t pay out - surely that’s an indication that it’s a stupid idea, even if you don’t expect a child stolen.

REPLY: I agree with you on that, Karen. BUT why didn't the resort where they were staying have security guards walking around? Every resort I've been to have them here and outside this country also. Further, do you think the resort had in fine print in their brochures - 'caution, Portugal has had bad situations in the past with paedophiles and they still come from other countries looking for prey'? As I've stated before on here, the minute the case hit the papers I immediately did a search on Portugal and found what I was looking for - paedophiIe cases over there and child trafficking. Granted two big ones two years ago but that was just two years ago....Then we just find out that the UK notified them of known paedophiles from there going to Portugal for vacation. You can be guaranteed they were not going for sun and relaxation at the resorts!

So mum didn’t breastfeed? Why not?
And why wasn’t mum looking after her own babies?

REPLY: Yes she did breastfeed. Pumped her milk everyday before leaving for the hospital and put it in bottles. Breastfed through the night and weekends. She and her husband were in their residency at the hospital- she to be a pediatrican and he an orthopedic surgeon. They had 5 children in total, she breastfed them all.
I blame Alan Pike for all this madness. He's the psychologist who told the McCanns that they could control the situation and not to speculate that Madeleine is dead. Idiot.

Positive thinking is great when you want to start a business, it's totally useless if a paedophile has kidnapped your daughter.

Maybe they'd talk like real human beings if Alan and the P.R.s hadn't got at them?

“It was a true family affair in raising those twins and they were the first to admit they couldn’t have done it without us. ”

They were just being polite. They probably resented your presence , worried that you would harm their twins, and wished you would stay the hell away from their kids.

But what was your point, Cheryl? It got lost in your idiotic rambling. Was y our point that you did not sedate and kill your sister’s children? Neither did your sister? Wow, what a great family you have! Superior to the McCanns, anyway.

REPLY: Are you this nasty in person or just a persona you project on here? It is not very flattering in case it is just an act! Tony made disparaging remarks about family always around Kate McCann when she was along with the 3 children. I was pointing out to him that having twins is a full time 24 hours job in itself and then add a toddler into the equation. You know what I mean you are just being mean and nasty...pity in away you need to act this way on here - or is this your true personality?

I'm very good with children and patient with them. I'm just impatient with AH! Enjoy your evening.
