Madeleine McCann: Four, Three Men, DNAboost And Risk

maddiestory Madeleine McCann: Four, Three Men, DNAboost And RiskMADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann

DAILY STAR: “Cops slam pics of Maddie suspects – Innocent people are put at ‘risk’”

“Four” people who look like the drawings inspired by holidaymaker Gail Cooper have now been questioned by police

So says the Star. Although on closer inspection Jose Marques plus Joaquim Agostinho plus a Portuguese builder in Gibraltar makes three, not four

Celebrity criminologist Francisco Moita Flores says: “It is manipulation and propaganda.” No, not the Star’s reporting, rather the sketches

DAILY MAIL: “Fourth man questioned in Maddie e-fit probe”

When is an e-fit a drawing? Compare and contrast

The Mail sees the Portuguese builder questioned and then freed. “At least” three other men have been questioned

THE SUN: “SUPER DNA ‘WILL CLEAR McCANNS – They welcome new-style forensic tests”

A tiny sample is, reportedly, found in the McCanns’ Renault Scenic hire car. How did it get there? From her clothes, say the McCanns. “Another theory was that Maddie’s younger brother and sister may have similar DNA,” says the Sun

And there’s a new test. It’s called DNAboost. DNAboost “can separate or ‘clarify’ profiles and unravel tiny samples”

With DNAboost what you thought had gone comes back with a bang!

DAILY MIRROR (online): “McCann pics fury”

Always the “fury

Police in Portugal “claim Kate and Gerry McCann are hindering the probe into missing Madeleine by releasing sketches of the possible kidnapper.

One detective says the drawings were too vague and could “identify dozens or hundreds of people”

“But McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell hinted more sketches could be on the way ‘if we get any more information’”

THE INDEPENDENT: “Alastair Campbell: The Cudlipp Lecture”

“In an era of more pages, more space, more access, more talk, there is less said and done that is truly memorable. Even in Dacre’s apologia he could only draw on Stephen Lawrence – again - as the story where he felt the Mail made an impact and did some good. Similarly, in his Mactaggart Lecture Jeremy Paxman said the BBC constantly pointed to Planet Earth as evidence of good TV combining with good ratings, but did so precisely because it is a rarity. And with every front page screaming headline that doesn’t quite deliver the big story, every exclusive that isn’t, every whooshing breaking news that isn’t really breaking news at all, every new twist in the McCann case that isn’t a new twist at all, the public gets a little wiser every time”

We recognise the spin, says Mr Campbell – “Media spin to fill media space.” And we might even recognise the irony…

I think when you start going into that much detail, madness cannot be far away.

    ****************************************************************************8

I did say it was a theory, and it is a quiet day! Sheesh am I losing it?

    Slyfox

Damn, I answered on the other thread. All I said was, ‘we’re all losing it a bit’. :)

I also mumbled about maybe the McCanns are being protected by the government and the media for some conspiracy like reason (even though I hate conspiracy theories because I worry they all end up in a Kristallnacht).

I think we all are a bit.

I hate conspiracy theories because I always worry that they’ll end up in some kind of Kristallnacht but maybe the McCanns do have friends in high places protecting them?

    **************************************************************************

I don’t really buy the conspircy theories of protection - too far fetched for me, especially in a case with such a high profile.

But Gery could be deluded enough to think he has friends in high places, favours to call in, and information that could be embarrassing if unleashed through his world-wide media
    campaign.

Now, putting my sensible hat back on again (-:

Having one conversation across two thread is a new one for me!

DID GEORGE HARRISON TAKE MADDIE ?
NO, of course not, but we’ll print anything … no matter how pathetic”

    “EXCLUSIVE TO ALL PAPERS
    DISGUST AT MADDIE LOOKALIKES
There was revulsion expressed yesterday after it was revealed that all British tabloids were running Madeleine McCann lookalike articles on their front pages. “At first glance these lookalike Maddie articles fool you into thinking they are genuine news” said one salivating reader, “but if you get past the sensational headline you quickly see that these lookalike articles are nothing more than the same rehashed empty speculation. ”

(With full acknowledgements to Private Eye, and thanks for their having entered the discussion.)

It went through my mind as well…anything is possible.
THEY are the only ones to know the truth and if only they had balls they would come forward and tell everything,it would make their life easier and every one”s else.
Anythign we can say,all the speculations etc… will never alter the fact that Madeleine has died and that we want justice made to her….
And I feel sad for the little twins as well…. awful, and allegedlydamaging parents they have…

I posted this on the other thread and got no reply:

It has been mentioned on the 3A a few times (a couple of threads i think) but does not seem to have been reported here (or have I missed something).

There is an open meeting at the LSE tomorrow evening about PR and the press at which Clarry is one of the speakers.

‘Mccanns and the Internet’ - details here: http://www.charliebeckett.org/?p=382#more-382

Any Anorakers live in London. can make it? Aparently it is a first come first served event

    What is your explanation then?”

The Coopers and the McCanns belong to the same target group. I would describe this group as people from the outer circle of the government - those from the inner circle would be too well protected by personal body guards etc. .

The plan was to kidnap a child from this target group. The Coopers’ child was on the list, that’s why George Harrison was spotting them.

In spain, they are the laughing stock of the media…the mccFools, not the poor guys being harrassed.
Actually, the media here has more or less stopped giving whaterver news.
The general opinion is that whatever the circumstances, her parents killed her and full stop.
    They are not interested anymore.
This last comment on spanish TV last week was: “they have absolutely no dignity,no respect for Madeleine”s memory, them and their portavoz,CM….”
Here people are indignant :”how on earth do they have the cheek to make money off their child”s death????”
Spanish really dislike the show of grandeur and egotism….

I do not know if they will test the DNA again.
There are still results and it was expensive to carry them out.
    What do you think????
Could DNAboost change the known results? I think not.

I muddled over it for a long time,as you know.
But it seems very unlikely…it looks like too much a bad movie ( )
Soon, the truth will come up.The PJ is taking its time and no one can blame them…is the PJ waiting for the results of new DNA tests the mccanns have done? thats may be why this delay.
