Madeleine McCann: Jacqui Smith, Global Warming And Legal Action

gerrykatemccann Madeleine McCann: Jacqui Smith, Global Warming And Legal ActionMADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann

DAILY EXPRESS: “MADELEINE POLICE BLAST HOME OFFICE”

“The investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is being stalled by Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, it was claimed last night. Police chiefs in Portugal are said to be frustrated at Home Office delays over a formal request to question Kate and Gerry McCann”

Now the Portuguese police are ganging up on The Home Secretary

A Portuguese police source tells us: “It is very strange that we have heard nothing. There seems to be no sense of urgency. We cannot proceed until these interrogations have been carried out”

Says a Home Office spokesman: “We have not received a formal request concerning the investigation. It is not appropriate to comment further”

DAILY MIRROR: “Madeleine McCann: Police quiz delay”

“Portuguese police have still not asked permission to quiz Gerry and Kate McCann about Maddy again - four months after saying they would.
Bungling detectives claim a request was sent to Britain more than three weeks ago but last night the Home Office confirmed nothing had arrived”

So it’s not Jacqui Smith’s fault? You can come out now, Jacqui…

Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “Any inconsistencies the police believe exist in their evidence can be cleared up very quickly and then we hope Kate and Gerry’s names will be cleared. This cannot happen soon enough”

MAKING CRIME PAY, by Sue Carroll

“Metodo 3 (which last year claimed it knew where Madeleine was and said she would be home by Christmas) has 40 investigators working on the case. It’s been reported that each has a replica of Cuddle Cat, Madeleine’s favourite toy, which they are encouraged to squeeze when they feel ‘demotivated’ by the size of their task. If that doesn’t work, perhaps a glance at their weekly pay cheques might help”

THE TIMES: “Green issues matter for holidaymakers - Before booking breaks, Britons are demanding that holiday companies take a responsible approach to the environment”

Madeleine McCann and global warming?

“The latest in a series of exclusive surveys for The Times shows that, increasingly, holidaymakers are taking the environment into account when choosing where to go on holiday”

And: “Mark Warner, the holiday company linked to the Praia da Luz complex where Madeleine McCann disappeared in Portugal, scores the lowest out of the all the tour operators surveyed by Populus”

LEICESTER MERCURY: “MCCANNS WARN OVER LIBEL ACTION”

Says Clarence Mitchell: “There are one or two voices in Portugal who say things which get picked up by the press and magnified. Anyone who says we are doing diversionary tactics is wrong. We have made it very clear that publications in Britain and Portugal are subject to the laws of libel and defamation, like everyone else, and our lawyers are watching all of this. We reserve the right to take legal action and have three years in which to do it”

This could go on for some time…

No - and why can it not happen quickly enough? Because the suspects are hiding in the UK perhaps?

  15. 15 Stevo Says:

I just posted this on my forum (anyone from here going tonight?):

The credibility of Team McCann is at an all time rock bottom. This is the event tonight:

    http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/LSEPublicLecturesAndEvents/events/2008/20071212t1400z001.htm

    Here’s the list of speakers:

Steve Hewlett is a media consultant and former BBC editor. Roy Greenslade is a media commentator, columnist and blogger, and Professor of Journalism at City University. Kelvin MacKenzie is former editor of the Sun, firmly establishing it as Britain’s biggest selling newspaper. Clarence Mitchell is a former BBC royal correspondent and now spokesman for the McCanns. Justine McGuinness is a PR guru who manages the Find Madeleine campaign. Roger Graef was the executive producer of the recent Dispatches which featured the McCanns.

    1. Steve Hewlett
    2. Roy Greenslade
    3. Kelvin McKenzie
    4. Clarence Mitchell
    5. Justine McGuiness
    6. Roger Graef

Ok, we can rule out 3 & 4 as having any credibility - CM himself and The Sun’s editor.

Justine was the one texting Kate while she was in for questioning so she didn’t help the police and probably was technically breaking some law by doing that.

Roger Graef made the awful “Dispatches” documentary which was pretty much pro-McCann.

Does anyone know much about the first two on this list?

This list of speakers gives away the relationships and shows that CM influenced them. This is important to realise this. Channel 4’s Dispatches documentary was probably made with interference from CM.

“Jacqui Smith ‘hurting Madeleine McCann hunt’”

Nice idea. They are citing an old article from Correio da Manha, while this newspaper has recently claimed that the letters are still in Portugal. So they are preparing for tomorrow’s headline which will be “Discovered: Letters have NOT been sent yet.”

    From the Telegraph:

“The letter from Portuguese investigators also listed a number of personal items they want seized from the McCanns, including Mrs McCann’s diary, Mr McCann’s personal laptop and Madeleine’s Cuddle Cat toy.”

I like this passage even more every time it is repeated. The laptop may have long been sold and exchanged by a new model, cuddle cat will meanwhile be inherited by the twins and washed once a week.
