KATE and Gerry McCann are in talks to appear in an ITV documentary on missing kids. But the film will not be based on Madeleine’s case. Instead it would focus on how other countries treat lost children.
Are the McCanns doomed to be the media faces of missing children? Will they be invited to off their views on Channel 4’s 100 Greatest Unsolved Crimes?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s parents discuss TV offer”
Representatives of Kate and Gerry McCann have met with the broadcaster about a documentary that would be shot over a long period of time, their spokesman confirmed. It is thought that, while the documentary would feature four-year-old Madeleine’s disappearance from Portuguese resort Praia da Luz last year, it would focus on the wider subject of how countries respond to children going missing.
Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns spokesman, says: “We have talked with one or two companies and have a number of proposals and we are moving forward with those proposals. It is more than likely it would be with ITV at this stage, but I am not at liberty to go into details.”
Is this Brand McCann at work?
Says Clarence Mitchell: “They don’t want to do anything about ‘woe is us a year on’. That is what the tabloids would like us to do, but we are not following their agenda, we are following our own agenda.”
Indeed. No film. It will be tasteful and not at all mawkish. It will not be all about viewing figures and advertisers. It will be an ITV film…

Says Clarence Mitchell: “We are looking at a long form documentary surrounding some of the wider issues Kate and Gerry want to highlight like the creation of an Amber alert system in Europe. There is nothing like it in Europe. Each country has its own systems but they don’t talk to each other. Kate and Gerry are keen to discuss that part of improvement with [non government organisations] and we may well do a documentary looking at that aspect.”

The documentary would examine initiatives such as Project Amber in the US, which sees alerts posted on electronic roadside billboards as soon as a child is reported missing.

Last week, it was confirmed the McCanns had made formal complaints to Express Newspapers over a series of what Mitchell claimed were “wildly and grossly defamatory” articles in the group’s titles’ coverage of Madeleine and were considering taking legal action. They have instructed London law firm Carter Ruck, which specialises in high profile libel cases, to push for a settlement.

“But I do not feel I was negligent. Scarlett was in good hands with people who cared about her. I felt she was in a good family atmosphere.”
The investigation:
Initially they insisted Scarlett had drowned and only launched a murder investigation after a campaign by Fiona forced a second postmortem. It showed that she had been attacked.
Then when officers arrested de Souza, Fiona questioned whether they had the right man and accused them of a cover-up. Fiona, from Bideford, Devon, said: “I can’t believe the police have stooped to this level.
“They should be supporting me and investigating Scarlett’s death.”
And:
“Even so, I was half expecting it. In the Madeleine McCann case the police arrested the parents when they started asking questions. I’m very nervous and I don’t want to go back to the police station but I’m going to make a statement and get it over and done with.”
Police have arrested 28-year-old barman Samson de Souza on suspicion of rape. The murder inquiry continues.
No-one has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

We live in a controlled World where most of the papers are aloud to report what the Government give them the green light on.
This Madeleine (alleged abduction) story will run for as long as it serves their needs, to divert attention from other internal sleeze scandels.
Then another party will take up where they left off.
So many strange things have taking place this last few years.
1.We are at War with an unknown foe, so how can War be declaered legally?
2.A woman arrested over a teddy bear’s name.
3.A film made and realeased in the same year as the Madeleine mystery.
Gone Baby Gone! The film is about a 4year child abducted from her bed when her mother has left her home alone and she is found much later and taken back to her real mother the ending is sad.
4. Lots of children having to be taken from lower paid parents who are seen as unfit by those who work for the government and placed with total strangers who they have no love for to see them through the rough times together.
Finacial turmoil as millions are wiped off the market, by gambling crazed young market players using electronic machines, not real money, It is a short career hang on to you bonuses, you.ll be needing them.
5.Men killing thier own children, with no control over their natural instincts, hearing voices in thier brain.
6.Paedophiles are trying to get the worlds governments to legalise sex with confused, vunerable, undeveloped children whose morals are yet to be moulded into decent human kind.
7.Women take on Men’s roles and Men take on Women’s in the home and at work adding uncertainty and confusion , who’s duty is it to do what?
8.We all comunicate over the Earth’s ever growning Satalite systems that are frying the planet and know we can be seen from out of space, when working on our P.C’s at our desk, conclusion, we are afraid to speak the truth. Big Brother is already here!
9.We have large groups of young people, who have every thing to live for killing theirselves.
10. We, the Earths human population, no longer identify with our country of birth, we are who we are, from today, where ever we find ourselves.The wandering tribes of Europe.
8.The ice shelf in the antartic is melting, a convenient happening for the oil giants to go in and get the oil out, blame Global Warming on the Planets future disasters.
9.Governments have turned their back on the working and middle classes in favour of chasing the wealthy buyers from other countries who buy up our countries retail and company stocks, we as a country own little of it!
10.Does not the Queen bee depend on her drones and worker bees for survival?
Human Capital is a precious commodity, when its used up, noone wins, their plan is doomed to fail.
We are no longer a Great Britain, Yes, we welcome new comers, but only if we had a future to offer them, today we doubt our own future as Britains capital and stocks run out, even our water companies are owned by other Countries.
Yet take heart for we know what is happening, we know the Worlds ever growing populations has to be managed in a diffrent way by this so called, New World Order!
Yet, we are the lucky ones, us the General Public, we can sleep at night knowing and waiting and while we are waiting we enjoy beautiful planet as the entertainment, churned out by those who think we are not aware take’s a toll on them.

Okay! If I go along with everyone who is negetive to the McCanns and I must say I never ever thought they killed Madeleine.
Is it then possible that Madeleine could have been sent for adoption and placed in the Heart of Adoption Organizaition which has come up in my research?
This is an American adoption agency that does International adoptions.
It stresses the fact they are doing it for the sake of their kids, which would appeal to the parents who found it hard to part with a difficult child.
There are a couple who say they adopted a child four years ago, her name is Madeleine
and they promise to bring her up in a good Catholic tradition, they are now looking for a baby son.
I am probably wrong and these folks are doing a good job.
So, please don’t go nuts over this theory, it is what it is, a theory!

Seems strange that the Mccanns would be upset over a search for their daughter.
IMO even if the Mccanns did have something to do with her death, I dont think they will ever be charged.

Talk of Kate and Gerry McCann suing Richard Desmond’s Daily Express and other newspapers is, for the moment, wide of the mark. Although nobody is prepared to comment, apparently talk of a demand of £1 million in compensation for alleged defamation is inaccurate. Indeed, no sums of money have been demanded or offered by either side. The couple want an apology, amid concerns about a series of what they say have been misleading headlines on as many as 40 stories in the tabloid, so money may not enter into it - but a writ is not ruled out. Interestingly, however, they clearly believe that the Press Complaints Commission was not able to help. Instead, the advice used by the McCanns comes from the Carter-Ruck law firm - and if they succeed against Mr Desmond’s titles, other newspapers could be targeted. If money does change hands, it will be destined for the Find Madeleine fund.

Hi - was wondering why the papers are saying the Mccanns are furious that a reservoir is being checked again. Is this the tabloids making up stuff?
If not - why would they react with anger at someone who is prepared to use their own money to search?
If they are trying to convince us they are innocent a reaction like this makes them look guilty…….no don’t search there!!! Why not???

Hi. Yes, I thought he might have gone. Only just caught up on posts.
I wouldn’t trust mCannfiles anyway! I’ve never heard that the directors are just figureheads although they are bound to take note when G and K apply for money to fund some element of the campaign. They must have agreed to help to pay M3’s fees. Aren’t those costs shared with Brian Kennedy, the glass magnate? I think he is the one keen on Ms. Not really sure. We discussed it the other evening din’t we? One poster said the fees were shared between the Fund and Kennedy.
There’s no evidence the McCanns are asking for money from the Fund for legal feel, is there? But in any case, it would look very bad for the directors if they changed their minds on this one.
We’ll see. Anything can happen. If they are charged, their legal fees will certainly be enormous.

God knows how this case will end, one part of me thinks it will be shelved because
the Tapas 9 could have been re-interviewed months ago, the other part thinks the Pj is
going to produce evidence which will shock us all……………hopefully!!!!!!!!!
All this week we were told by Jo and this poster from 3arguidos that the Detectives
were on the way, the suspense is killing me .

Portuguese police say they are ready to spend more than two months in Britain to try to unravel the Madeleine McCann mystery, gathering as much “ammunition” as they can before they re-interview Kate and Gerry McCann.
They hope to wrap up the interrogations within a week.
But they are packing their bags in anticipation of a much longer stay and plan to quiz Madeleine McCann’s parents as well as the seven holiday friends who were eating tapas with them when the youngster disappeared, Portuguese daily 24 horas reported today.
“Madeleine’s parents will be the last to face questioning because we want to have as much ammunition as possible in terms of forensic evidence and other witness statements,” the paper quoted a police insider as saying.
British police have already met counterparts in Portugal to plan the new interviews.
A source told the paper: “The McCanns and their friends live in different parts of Britain and they will all be questioned in their respective areas of residence.
“This is why we’ve had to coordinate everything with the UK police, so we’re able to unite and and hear as quickly as possible all the people mentioned in the formal interview requests.
“We want to resolve everything in a week.
“But if things don’t go well, we can stay in Britain for more than two months.”

Apparently, under Portugese Law a secondary investigation in a crime i.e. Metodo3
is not allowed, but Ribiero “turned a blind eye”. You would think the McCanns would
be grateful that the search of the Dam is going on, seems very strange that they are so
resentful. I suspect the PJ will be furious at the Metodo 3 turning up, it”s about time
they told the McCanns and Cm to stop interfering!!!!!!!!

Not sure Batman is still around.
Although Gerry is not a Director of the Company, he does make decisions apparently.
Again in mcCannfiles, it was reported that it was his and CM”s decision to employ
Metodo 3 . The Board were then asked to cough up the £300,000 from the Fund.
Apparently, the Directors are just figureheads and I believe the address for the
Company is in London but none of the Directors live there!!!!! All very suspect IMO.

I know what you are saying.
This case has a very poltical trend and as far as I understand it has to be dealt with great care and it has been treated as such since the start.
I agree it shouldnt be like that at all but since the begining the uk govt has been involved.For example the uk diplomats in portugal have been told NOT to help Murat at all.Why? why help the mcconns and not him?
We are all speculating hoping and wishing that at long last the truth and justice are made to Madeleine.
The only ones who know the truth are the mccanns and the PJ.
I do hope the PJ will be able to do its works accordingly to the law.Yes.here I am hoping

M3 has been told off by the PJ already because they cant put their stuffed nose in a criminal investgation etc… etc…
The dam-search-story is very bizzarre.
On one hand the mccanns are furious about it telling the lawyer doing the search just wants to publicise himself then we hear that M3 is also on the job
I must say this search came up the same day as of the recovery of mari luz body in the water some days after the Cortes went to portugal to pay a visit to the PJ(at least Juan Cortes went not his wife).
I really do not know what to think.
At the moment I cant any further info.Too soon for calling.Do you understand me?

The directors of the Find Madeleine Fund made it clear almost as soon as the McCanns were made arguidos that they would not sanction the money being used for their legal expenses. (The Mcs have to apply to the Fund for any money they wish to use to support the campaign to find Madeleine.) Esther McVey (then a director) said that the Mcs had not asked for money for that purpose. However, the Directors had decided to consult lawyers on the matter anyway. They were advised that, within the terms of reference of the Fund, it WOULD be legal for money to be used for that purpose, provided it was paid back if the McCanns were found guilty. Nevertheless, the Directors had made the decision that it would not be “in the spirit of ” the Fund’s aims to allow it to be used for that purpose.
I think the McCanns may well have enough wealthy backers to cover such costs anyway, but why would the directors decide that it suddenly WAS in the spirit of the Fund to use it for legal fees?
Have you seen anything to suggest that decision is going to be reversed? I’d be interested to know if you have. Thanks.

Loopholes, technacalities(not spelt right?) what maximum the judge can pass as a sentence………..

Iv”e just read your post 601 and on McCannfiles Timelines there is a different report
on the whereabouts of Madeleine on 3rd May. Apparently, Kate and Gerry dropped
the children off at the creche at 10am. The Nannie looking after M says she was picked
up at 12.30 by K &G to have lunch, brought back at 2.30pm (the last photo supposedly
taken at 1.29 but really 2.29pm is mentioned) and was picked up again by Kate at, I
think, 6pm.
No wonder we don”t know what to believe , with so many conflicting stories. IMO

Remember they are gathering as much info as they can and they have been doing this since day 1
