A very fair look at the situation surrounding the McCann investigation.

I think part 4 highlights how the press have influenced this case and how easy people can form an opinion based on misinformation. And it also shows how peoples perceptions on how one should act in such dire situations can quite easily be wrong.

I have maintained from the outset that I feel the McCanns are innocent of anything to do with the disappearance of their own daughter.

At best he is referring to possible working hypotheses which are to be tested by the police, selling them under the label “the police now believe that…”, and his followers take it as if it were the fucking truth and not just hypotheses.

Child not in her bed, friends next door, would YOU go screaming about an abduction before checking with them?

REPLY TO ABOVE: If I saw my child at a set time I would it down. As for the ‘friend’ saying the same time - that is her problem not mine. I would put down my time let her sort hers out after the fact.

If you were accused of being involved in the loss of your child, had plenty of money and legal backing, wouldn’t you go back and face our accusers? If you didn’t because your lawyers said dont, might it be because the lawyers think the accusers had a case?

REPLY TO ABOVE: If they requested I come back yes I would go back unless the lawyers I had retained told me not to. I would not necessarily think the lawyers thought the accusers had a case against me but from how the investigation was not carried out properly from the first night the child went missing I doubt the lawyers had much faith or trust in the police involved at the time. When you hire a lawyer you hire them because they have more knowledge than you do of the laws and more experience in dealing with police. It is a lawyer’s job to protect the innocent as well as the guilty, you know that Ian.

I know I would screamed instantly in panic my child were missing; I would have depended on other people to make many decisions as I’m not sure how clear headed I’d be at the time; I’d call any friends I had in high positions begging for their help, that I know.

Now, would I have permitted my friends to convince me it was quite safe to do so…I doubt it as I was very over-protective with my children when they were little but if I were of different personality….there is always that but as never had to make the decision. Now, wasn’t it Gerry speaking of the arrangements with the children left alone? Some people just talk to act friendly in a social setting without thinking…

We have had so many “sightings” of Madeleine, mostly on the Continent, but there
was one in the U.K. recently so unless you have proof it is hard to believe that
Ireland could be where Madeleine is to be found.!!!!!!! Her face would be recognisable
anywhere unless she was being kept in a remote Farmhouse or something, not forgetting she is almost a year older now so would look different.
