Madeleine McCann: Fiona MacKeown Compares And More Questions
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “The very sinister cover-up behind Scarlett’s murder in Goa”
The paper looks to Fiona MacKeown, mother to murdered teenager Scarlett Keeling.
“I have nine children which makes you strong and there has been a lot to do. When I have nothing to do but think - it’s very hard. She really fought for her life and I think about that all the time.”
How does she feel about all the criticism of her for leaving Scarlett?
“I’m not surprised, really. Look at what’s been said about Madeleine McCann’s mother, and she is the picture of elegance.”
Says Fiona Mackeown, the media’s Charlotte Rampling.
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann police in last ditch visit”
Portuguese police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann will travel to Britain for interviews with friends of the toddler’s family in what may be their last major effort to crack the case.
BBC: “Police to question McCann friends”
The friends who were on holiday with Madeleine McCann’s parents when the girl went missing are to be reinterviewed by police in the UK.
The group of seven will be questioned next week by Leicestershire Police, with Portuguese detectives present.
THE GUARDIAN: “Open door - The readers’ editor on … self-regulation and reputation management”
Can you trust newspapers?
March was chilly here in the UK, where newspaper ombudsmen are thin on the ground. The Daily Express, Sunday Express, Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday (all from the Express Newspapers stable) said sorry in the high court and published front-page apologies to Kate and Gerry McCann for a string of stories suggesting they were involved in their daughter Madeleine’s disappearance. They were joined at the Royal Courts of Justice by the Daily Mail, which turned up to apologise to Sheldon Adelson for stories about his business practices. On the same day the Press Complaints Commission (PCC) upheld a complaint against the Evening Standard. A front-page story, in August last year, about the climate camp at Heathrow was “materially misleading” it said and “adequate care had not been taken over the presentation of the piece”.
Three major press retreats in one day looks like carelessness. The apologies to the McCanns came about not because editors experienced a moment of clarity but because legal action was threatened. The climbdown cost £550,000 in damages, plus legal costs. The Daily Mail faces an even bigger payout - around £4m according to Adelson’s lawyers. The Standard was taken to task for being slow to deal with its mistake: “This was a serious breach of the code,” the PCC said. “The newspaper should have recognised this at an early stage and been more forthcoming in its attempts to remedy the complaint.”

Hope the holidaymakers remember what they said during their filmed interviews that they had to make for the police in PDL. Nobody has access to these until such time as there is a court case.
And it’s not like other countries where you can have a gander at what you said nearly a year ago. Just wonderring if the police have tapes of the Daffodils or RM whom they are not prepared to comment on as to whether or not they know him - cough - clear throat. Get annoyed and a bit sweaty and irritated.
I am covinced that this is an inter-galactic matter. This is alien abduction. I have made my mind up and nothing but the Clammed Clan answer the questions themselves, on their own with nobody with them and no prejudice. Well - not a lot.

When it comes to missing children and heroes, this is one man and organisation I want to share with you. I have no idea about how successful the McCann favouring organisations like NCMEC are but the American Association for Lost Children http://www.aaflc.org/ is one of those rare charities that does exactly what it says on the tin. And more!
Mark Miller was on TV here this morning as he had recently reunited a mother with her abducted son. Hearing about this man and the word “abducted” made me check him out.
What I found was incredible. I urge you to read about Mark Miller and his true charity. Here’s a selection of headlines about this amazing bloke.
Woman’s World:“Mark went from riches to rags…because he loves children”
Biography Magazine: “The Children’s Crusader…Mark Miller travels the world to track down missing kids and never charges a penny.”
After saturating ourselves with the negativity of the McCann case for months, purge yourself by reading about the AAFLC.

Sorry this is technical but you can probably let your techical people see if it sheds light on anything…
Shortly after my last posts in here on Saturday, my access to the anorak.co.uk domain was completely blocked. I host several sites myself and the symptoms were that my IP was blocked via your HTACCESS file in your server. Several posters in here have emailed me mentioning this has happened to them in the past six months but until it happened to me in the past few days I didn’t know what they were on about.
I did some tests. I ran a script to access anorak from a server I have in another state and whose IP address would be different to my regular IP. That worked fine. As I was testing my new browser (based on the code in the other server), I read your post and your comment that I wasn’t banned. Not long afterwards, my regular access came back on. Weird or what?
You’ve always been a fair moderator Duncan. What’s going on? Can you shed any light on this? For your techno guys, the code that bans IP’s in HTACCESS is in this link below. My symptoms were the exact same as if this code was in use on your server. Something to mention/check out? Many posters have emailed me mentioning the exact same symptoms i.e. cannot access any part of the entire domain “anorak.co.uk”

amazing timing.
Why? to soften the blow?
To get the public back on side on a lesser charge?

Liar, liar….
Châtelaine attacked me [for the umptiest time]! And continued to do so the next day. And when another poster talked to her about her behaviour [and lies], she played the victim card, when I wasn’t even around.
This poster observed what was going on [as well as some others]:

So I suggest you’d better stop lying and attacking me in stead of my posts.
Or is that too difficult for your intelligent brain?

Well, that’s what I mean. If a child is abducted, it would lead to a more lenient sentence, the “haven’t they suffered enough” factor.
Is there any precedent for parents of an abducted child sentenced for neglect?
*******************
Thing is…… by far the majority of parents of abducted children have actually been involved and further to that in a majority of those claimed abduction cases something else has *IN FACT* happened to the child.
“Baby Grace” is just one recent such case!

……It is understood that Interpol in Dublin receives ten to fifteen calls per day with numerous tip offs on the whereabouts of the missing child. Unfortunately to date none of the tip offs have led to any concrete information.
————-
Would you believe it?

All sounds very irish to me, does it mean 10-15 = numerous or that each call itself consisted of numerous tip offs.??
Remember now Garth, sir, Peter Sutcliffe was interviewed on 9 separate occasions over a long period of time in the Yorkshire Ripper enquiry before he was finally arrested so checking and rechecking is the ting, that it is.

I’m neither a victim, nor did I go. I’m just too busy at the moment to stay on course and read it all, let alone react regularly. Don’t worry. And don’t go neither, please.
Good night for now.
And good night to “all”, of course.
BTW I’ve been trying not to be paranoid about it, but I cannot escape the feeling that there are “multiple name posters” here, who are talking to themselves to seed confusion, provoke aggression and create smokescreens…

We can’t be sure which theory the PJ is investigating now. Since mr Rebello took over, the leaks have stopped. Thats why the papers printed some wild speculations [and the Express has to pay for that]. Remember the “hasty” remark by mr Ribeiro? And the remark he made [Dave posted it today, I posted it also a while ago] “And it does not mean that we think that those who are to be tried are British citizens.”
So I’ll wait and see what happens and I won’t prejudge anybody. Though I admit, that’s hard sometimes

Secrecy laws Totje. Besides, the McCanns and the others could have easily hopped on a plane and offered themselves at any time.
The McCanns have been advised, we were told, not to go return to Portugal. I suspect this is because the lawyers know they are open to that basic abandonment charge.
Anyway - enough for one night! Goodnight all.

March 31st, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Totje, in my opinion, the PJ are playing this very close to their chests, they are not going to jeopardise a year long case, they are going to play the waiting game, do it all by the book so no loop holes can be used against them, remember Team Mc have some of the best in the world on their payroll

894 My Dad used to say, the older I get, the less I know I dont know!
To state ‘it was abduction’ and not consider other possibilities is to reveal either a very narrow mind or unwarranted faith or dishonesty. The McCanns immediate and constant assertion that Madeleine WAS abducted, is the most suspicious part of the whole thing. No one could be 100% certain without any evidence, so where is the evidence? I can’t believe they wouldnt tell us and clear their names immediately (regardless of the often flouted Portuguese secrecy laws) so that the ’search for Madeleine’ could carry on unhindered.
