Madeleine McCann: My Brilliant Career
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE GUARDIAN: “Heard the same song three times today? Blame the craze for ‘testing’ tunes”
Martin Kelner is writing on his career in radio:
“The problem is that during the day most of my local radio stations are aiming at a broadly similar audience, roughly women of a certain age, from around 30 to a shade over 55. Those who claim to be in the know say this is the constituency that will help you to a good score in the quarterly Rajar figures.
The slavish adherence to this perceived wisdom was made clear to me at the BBC local station that sacked me just over a year ago (on the same day Madeleine McCann went missing actually, which is probably why you never saw much about it in the newspapers) for not being “female friendly” enough.
Irony? Given the Madeleine McCann is now a linked to the f9 button on a journalist’s keyboard, it’s hard to tell…

Having read all the recent posts I am disappointed to note there is no “new” news on this mystery…..
However, I currently have a bee in my bonnet (painful) with the fuel prices that we are being subjected to! Sky news have been inundated with comments and I wondered if perhaps anorak would be so kind as to start up a thread so we can all vent healthily and not resort to blockading our local petrol distribution outlets…….

peter Mac,
is the text of Nostradamus’ (126) well written?
I think so. The use of ‘media’ as a singular is now so universal that it is probably pedantic to quibble, though I personally prefer it as a plural.

i think jt has withdrawn her statement, or that’s what the rumours say anyway.
jwilkin’s wife wrote an account, don’t know if you’ve read it but she describes the evening before in that account and that evening she states that her husband carried his daughter back from the nursary to their flat, and i wonder if that’s what jt was describing, wilkins carrying his child the evening before. whatever it’s all very odd.

246, much truth in the double standards you note., yes seems like some can get away with blue murder if they’ve got the money or right connections or social standing.. now normally i would’ve expected at the very least for the twins to have been put on the at risk register. i’ve known people being threatened with that cos their child had too many asthma attacks, so the doctors don’t seem to mind recomending such when it comes to others.

I’ve just called CM and left a message on his answer-phone begging him not to utter a word until I get back tonight. I hate being behind on this case! I feel as if I have been the last to know all week.
Not even had my usual suppliers of knowledge for weeks due to work commitments and different time zones.
Last tit-bit I head was that hardly anybody at the complex on May 3rd last year could corroborate any one story with any other. Must have been vicious nasty rumours again I ‘m sure because, ‘They know what they saw.’
And who would dare argue with JT? Not me! Far too scary!

Hi, my first visit, have heard from a portuguese workmate, that the knew police boss has told his men to run the case down, as they have not enough evidence.
May 20th, 2008 at 6:47 am
Sam ….. LOL.
Methinks the credulity factors re the Clan are finally on the wane.
The majority of the UK is working-class and bloody proud of it. They will not stand for the rules for them and rules for us that’s enabled this farce to continue.
I think we should start a site called ‘Amaral for Mayor’ at least. Just to get the debate going again! LOL

Early flight today but back this evening, so I hope the GandolphyGarthy types aren’t on here boring me to death with their inane bollocks!

hi
very funny, can’t think of a thing to add to it :), its a very mythical story they tell, yes :). re the smell on the clothes, i do have a theory about that, but theories are only that.
May 20th, 2008 at 6:35 am
When the Clan announced their grave reservations, did they mention how much their plots were.
I bet they never mentioned the ‘plots’. Will there be plots within plots?
Who picked the plots and how much would they like us to contribute?
Is it family flowers only and all donations to Metodo3 or what?
Are we all invited to the funeral?
Where do I send my money to?
Should we not send the Clan the UK Samaritans number just in case they want to change their minds and reserve their graves after the reconstruction?
There’s plenty of time surely.
May 20th, 2008 at 6:29 am
I don’t think that the Clan and co. are co-operating with the police because they are embarrassed about revealing that they know it was a mutant sardine what done it. They fear ridicule.
Having had three of my own children of similar ages eaten by aliens I know how humiliating it can be to have to admit something so far-fetched.
I am horrified that they have their graves reserved! Why?
Have they not got enough to do at the moment without thinking about their own funerals? And if they are getting ready to jump off this motal coil - why warn us about it?
Can they not do anything quietly and with dignity?
May 20th, 2008 at 6:22 am
Hi Sam!
As you must have gathered I think that M was eaten by huge amphibious sardines.
There is no trace fom these mutants when they enter and leave people’s apartments. However, if they find a child or a person very tasty-looking, they cannot resist a quick nibble before they do the snatch. Hence, a dot of blood here and there from the spurt.
It is alleged that they leave an area smelling freshly bleached and very clean when they leave. They are a bit like magpies in that they like to play with metallic objects like keys. Some have even been known to dress up in human clothing leaving a death-like scent on them. But this is only hearsay.

good morning coco, still around ?, yes from what i’ve read that’s what it looks like unfortunately.
May 20th, 2008 at 5:01 am
Hi All! Hope I’ve not missed anything of mega-importance these past few days.
I am jet-lagged so please forgive me if I have this wrong - but is it true that a re-enactment of 3rd May 2007 will only commence if the Clan and co. think it’s worth it?
Next time I hear of a football fan having to return to a foreign country for affray or violence or murder, I will be prompted to ask if it’s really worth the time and effort of going back.
Was it worth Pinochet standing in a dock being accused of mass murder? Of course not - So his lawyers made sure that he didn’t have to stand trial. Sweet little old guy!
I fear a few nervous bread-vans are waiting just around the corner. I am having a nervous bread-van myself because I cannot cope with my feelings of incredulity! Utter madness!
Maybe a few doctors letters asserting the use of anti-depressants, beta-blockers, sleeping tablets etc., etc., etc.
Notes about agoraphobia will not be included - given all the love of travel and media oppportunity.
Thank fuck Europe did not sanction the Amber Alert! F*cking hell! We would have been swamped with f*cking photo opportunities.
Thank f*ck these ultr-slick Defence teams weren’t around at Nuremburg after WWII.

Good evening, Maria, tho I doubt you are still on. I’m sitting here quite puzzled - you are a Nun, which would explain your very gentle way of speaking to people and kindness about the McCanns, or you are joking?

Hi!
So you think I’m not a nun ……or that I must work for the Vatican?
Yes, well, the Dutch church always was far too modern! Should all have been excommunicated long ago!
Some of us are more traditional!
I see I shall have to pray for you, my child. I shall ask the Holy Father to do the same….. in between walking his cats, playing Mozart and working on the McCann conspiracy, of course!
It must be getting to a critical stage now. I notice his very worried expression when I take him in his schnitzel and bratkartoffeln every evening. (Please don’t suggest that this is only because of my cooking…or I shall have to report you to M and A….!)

No news.
No recon.
No arrests.
No charges.
YET!
Yes, all leads exhausted.
Yes, we [should] know by now we can’t trust what’s written in the papers.
Yes, fed up with the behaviour of some posters.
Ever had a look at http://www.quantcast.com/anorak.co.uk ?
I wonder if it’s updated…

The band is one year older than the Stones. There will soon be a series of golden jubilee tours methinks.

Yes I think that ‘’should” hold true for Doctors too. I often wonder though if they now see their careers elsewhere. Media maybe? Time will tell.
Can’t keep my itty bitty eyes open any longer.

Yes you’re right. A real lack of any new info until (if?) the recons are done.
Also all the rucks here don’t help. Perhaps more wish to stay in the background?
