Arrest warrants

Police could force Kate or Gerry McCann to return to Portugal by issuing arrest warrants, which under European Union accords should be executed by the British authorities within 40 days.

Such a move would, however, be worthwhile only if police had sufficient evidence of a serious enough crime to convince a Portuguese judge they should be held in some form of custody.

As to how long the McCanns could remain formal suspects without being charged, in principle it is for eight months.

That could be extended by four months, for example on grounds that the need to shuttle correspondence between Portugal and the UK results in delays.

Once the first eight months are up, one of two things could happen: an arguido may formally request that the investigation be accelerated. This move is, however, in itself not binding.

If they do not go back willingly,then the prosecutor would have to issue AW which is going to take more bureaucratic headaches and it should not be necessary because initially,the reconstruction was a clause of the rogatory letters and approved by the HOme Office,so where is the problem?

you shall be very relieved to know that the doctors are hoping to reverse Kirsten’s coma, as she seems to be improving
And the mother and step father of the girl who died have been charged with neglect, and all the children are in hospital receiving treatment. No postmortem results as yet

Thank you for not being angry with me.I had further news about Kirstin.
She seems doing “well” or better but even if it is too early to say,she has a very long road to full recovery mentally/emotionally.
I have not looked at the news regarding the sad story in the uk.
Parents charged with neglect?again and again…”we are deeply sorry”,always the same crap coming up…I have questions to ask the british:the child”s teachers,the neighbours,the social services….
Every time a child dies,an other bite in my heart.Look at her parents…..unrooted,poor,uneducated etc…what is England DOING????

This Mc. story is goods lesson for us all: the pretense of justice in this country seem to exist only to keep “proletariat”’s illusions and not let them all understand, that those with the money rule.

It is better for us to have learnt the true lay-out of the game of life the rich play. It is better if we learnt the nature and structure of spin. Hopefully, we are going to be more resistant to deception and shameless spin in the future.
