"I remember ita!!!"

I remember phonetics before ita was ever heard of............before 'Janet and John' who slightly pre-dated 'Peter and Jane'.

Phonetics on flash cards had me reading full size story books within a few weeks of starting school !

maybe not voluntarily - but if they were ordered to return, then I cant think of a reason why they could refuse to go. Cooperation between European police forces is, in my opinion, a lot stronger than we know

in my opinion - the pj have left no stone unturned. The last stone was to be the reconstruction - and the McCanns and their friends have refused to let it be turned, maybe because they know exactly what that stone would reveal. The pj now have a clear and concise picture of the way the McLot work and will do what they have to do. They have give the Mcs&Co every oportuntity to repeat the events of the fatal nights and by refusing to do so will be the final nail. By now, I would think that the pj know exactly what charges, if any, can be brought against the McTapas, and will either close the case as unsolved or make their charges. There is really nothing more that can be done, is there? If the McLot have chosen to not allow a further revival of the events of may 3 - even if it had brought forward the remotest bit of new evidence - they chose not to allow it. In my opinion, we should all say a prayer for Madeleine, let the pj do what they have to do, and if after all this time it amounts to nothing - then let the McCs get on with their pathetic lives, in the knowledge that regardless of the truth being revealed - they contributed 100% to the disappearance of their daughter, by neglect.

"this [if true] prooves they couldn’t convince a Portuguese judge to release the info/things."

Yes but I suspect that thyere may very well be reasons for this decision beyond what will ever be admitted........Likewise the decision to refuse to charge with neglect before the arguidos left P. Not imo because of insufficient evidence..........but I speculate, of course !

Thanks. But if that’s true, why on earth didn’t the pj ask permission immediately after the event? They should know the law regarding that.
And [if it’s true] we should also dismiss the reports in the papers that the pj assisted by British cops already evaluated the phone calls, triangulations etc.

it's a mystery to me totje.

BTW, I would have absolutely no objection to being asked to give links for everything if the same rule applied to everyone.

But ade was allowed to say GM was not ALLOWED to see patients without giving any serious evidence at all.

I'm aware that M and A can't keep up with everything, and I only joked with Duncan R about it, but, although all are equal, some do sometimes at least appear to be more equal than others. IMHO!

BTW again, I think, if you look at the video clip of the Mcs going into the chamber in Brussels, you will see that it is Paul Tuohy (Missing People) who walks in with them, as well as CM. He looks rather like CM, actually, and is wearing the yellow ribbon (Missing People) in his lapel. I am not certain that it is him but I think so. If you compare his pic on the Missing People site with this clip, it does look very like him, with same ribbon! The Missing People site does say he was going to Brussels.

The clip can be found on the Edward McMillan Scott website by following his news entries.

Of course you are correct in saying that they also say it is difficult to judge the effectiveness of child alert systems but I think they still want MEPs to sign the declaration. In fact, some of the difficulty in using current systems arises from the lack of consistency across countries. I'm pretty sure they have been supporting this measure for a long time. I am trying to find out for certain. McMillan Scott claims the measure has the support of both PACT and Missing People but that may not be conclusive, although it's a dangerous thing for him to say if it's not true. He is, of course, sponsoring the Mcs' declaration!

I have a colleague who disappeared some time ago and whose family have received excellent support from Missing People, although, as yet, to no avail. No trace. No body. Never came home. No known reason.

I agree that some of the aims as given on their website seem contradictory. I suppose it's all in the individual cases....

Definitely "Good night!" to all now.
