Madeleine McCann: Time Out

MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann

TIME OUT: A review of Gone Baby Gone, an average made-for-TV-style film which hinges on its star turn - no, not Ben Affleck, Madeleine McCann:

(Due to superficial resemblances to the Madeleine McCann kidnapping case, ‘Gone Baby Gone’ was withdrawn from the London Film Festival last year and pushed back from its original December release date.)

Fact and fiction - you get them confused?

Not that I have much to comment on this [yet] ;-)

  7. 7 Carmen Says:

Wouldn’t want you to be lonely Châtelaine………………

  8. 8 JuneJohnson Says:

Confuse fact and fiction? never! some call it faction, I call it the MM threads

  9. 9 Châtelaine Says:

    Hello Carmen!
    Hi June!
Went back to the other thread to see if something happening there. Nope…

  10. 10 Châtelaine Says:

Shall we discuss the case entre nous as long as the others are over there ;-)

  11. 11 Châtelaine Says:

I think that IF no one really checked on their kids regularly [rumor has it McCs didn't check at all that night] such would point to either
    - an abductor indeed
    - or a fatal sickness or accident while they were away for hours

  12. 12 Châtelaine Says:

Because IF something would have happened before [accidental death or manslaughter] they would have been fanatically and frequently “checking” all the time, every 15 mins even maybe, to “proof” later on that it must have been an intruder …

  13. 13 Châtelaine Says:

Then the whole “cover-up” would only have been lying about the frequency of checks and to try and avoid accusations of [criminal] neglect.

  15. 15 Châtelaine Says:

Having said that, this does off course not fit with all circumstantial evidence the PJ is supposed to have, including Lord Eddie and the scent of death in the apartment, the car and on Kate’s clothes, as well as the fact that the news about the abduction was spread at the speed of lightning at a moment she might still be found within hours after having wondered off …

  16. 16 Châtelaine Says:

Ah! I was just about to get a mirror and look at it while talking to myself :-)

I do that a lot by the way, talking to myself, but I’ve never before been writing to myself ;-)

  17. 17 jo Says:

    Time out or game over?

  18. 18 Châtelaine Says:

I should try that more often, though. Very relaxed to write without interventions…

  19. 19 jo Says:

    Châtelaine
    Once for ever
“They have no part in Madeleine”s disappearance”
Apart that G said “find the body and prove we”ve killed her”….he “sold” himself to the PJ,that retard because at that level of the investigation the PJ was reserved and not saying anything…

  20. 20 Châtelaine Says:

I hope it’s soon “game over”, Jo. Otherwise I’ll get myself a detective book again and finally read a story with en “ending” …

Serious, no, I cannot imagine that after all this time the PJ would not eb able to bring this case to an end.

And K : “How can you think I murdered my own daughter” …

I think that all of them have become aware that the more they use the rope… Hence a deafening silence.

  26. 26 sam Says:

well still no news, it looks like it’s going to dust, the papers reduced to half columns of trip like yesterday and we’re rehashing over and over again the oddities and many inconsistancies. i hope the pj at least are making more progress.

    Very sick people
The PJ has left them drown themselves, not an unusual strategy, though.

no, but i have a vague memory of it being discussed/rumoured many months ago that he was some sort of security guy.

  30. 30 Lawener Says:

jo - don’t be so silly. I’ve only got one name. And I still would like to know the name of the man in the picture.
