Signora Amaral doesn’t seem to understand that a dignified silence would have just been more, errrr, dignified. The NOTW have published Kate McCann’s diary and now it is surely only a matter of time before this whole sorry saga is exclusively covered by the National Enquirer when the next sighting of Madeline McCann is reported to be in Vegas, with Elvis, of course.

Although, until this case is solved (if indeed it ever is), we cannot know if the McCann’s absence “led to the crime” or merely determined its timing, Madeleine’s parents clearly made a serious error in judgement, and they have been well, truly, and most likely permanently punished.

The McCanns were such crap parents (IMO) they didn’t lock the door when they left their small children alone… prevention is better than cure… the police being rubbish after the fact isn’t as reprehensible as the McCanns creating the conditions that led to the crime in the first place…

Ignore it? I only wish I’d ignored it! Whomever is responsible for this pathetic piece of trash has done a tremendous disservice to all professional, ethical law enforcement officers–including those in Portugal. I am appalled anyone would think it a good idea to whine about Amaral’s 100 euro per diem or poor pay (or at least it WOULD be poor pay if he received it in England???) to a woman who has lost her child and, thanks largely to the subject of the letter, is unlikely to ever learn why. Concluding such a letter with what appears to be a reference to the man’s bedroom prowess is a nauseating demonstration of the poorest possible taste.

Here is everything I need to know about Goncalo Amaral:
1. Goncalo Amaral stands accused by his government and awaits trial for gross professional misconduct obscured by LYING.
2. The McCanns do not.

I could not work properly today because I was having intrusive thoughts about Anorak.
